Tomatoes have high economic and nutritional value but are highly perishable due to their high water content, necessitating appropriate handling strategies. These strategies include the use of inhibitors and specific packaging types. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of gibberellin treatment and storage systems on the chemical characteristics of tomatoes during storage. A factorial completely randomized design was employed with two factors. The results showed that the interaction between the inhibitor, packaging type, and storage duration had a significant effect on all parameters. The best treatment in this study was gibberellin at a concentration of 5 ppm combined with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP), which maintained the quality of tomatoes up to the 20th day of storage

    Get PDF
Another change in the administration of hospitals today is the development of the function of hospitals, which previously only provided health services, to become broader based on Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. Article 197 of the Health Law provides for the expansion of health human resources into Medical Personnel, Health Personnel and Health Support or Support Personnel. The addition of health human resources in the form of Supporting Personnel or Health Support can be interpreted as part of encouraging the implementation of the development of hospital functions as intended in Article 184 paragraph (3) of the Health Law. The presence of non-medical health human resources (medical personnel and health workers) will strengthen the function of hospitals now and in the future. Through normative legal research and approaches to written legislation, and other written legal materials, the results were obtained that the preparation of hospital bylaws does not only contain corporate bylaws and medical staff bylaws, but must also be adapted to developments in the orientation, function and form of hospital services after the enactment of the Health Law

Spatial mapping training for teachers and students in island regions was conducted to strengthen schools’ capacity to understand environmental risks through geospatial technology utilization. This activity was motivated by limited data access and low spatial literacy in coastal schools vulnerable to disasters. It aimed to enhance teachers’ and students’ skills in identifying, mapping, and analyzing potential hazards around school environments. The participatory and collaborative approach involved training sessions, field practices, and digital mentoring using open-source software. The results showed significant improvements in spatial literacy, risk analysis ability, and school autonomy in developing local risk maps. The community-based spatial training model strengthened school disaster preparedness and fostered an inter-school collaborative network. This approach provides scientific contribution to applied disaster education. Its implication encourages local governments and educational institutions to replicate similar programs sustainably

    Get PDF
Amid the rise of café culture in urban Padangsidimpuan, this study examines how socio-economic preferences influence coffee-shop selection, particularly for pick-up orders. A cross-sectional survey involving 312 respondents—selected through stratified random sampling—captured consumer motivations via Likert-scale questionnaires, covering taste satisfaction, ambience, digital convenience, and perceptions of price fairness. Data were analyzed using factor analysis and partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that taste satisfaction (β = 0.33, p < 0.001) and app-based convenience (β = 0.28, p < 0.001) are the strongest predictors of café choice. Ambience contributes indirectly by fostering the intention to share experiences on social media. Segment analysis shows that pick-up customers prioritize convenience nearly twice as much as dine-in patrons, signaling a shift in consumption logic within Indonesia’s secondary cities. These findings extend consumption theory into the realm of secondary urbanization and highlight the role of lifestyle, taste, and digital habitus in shaping emergent consumer publics. This research contributes to the sociology of economic life and offers policy insights for strengthening the local creative economy

El Nino is one of the global phenomena that has affected the climate system of Indonesia. One of the direct impacts of the El Nino phenomenon is the decrease of water availability on agricultural land. This study aimed to analyze the period of El-Nino extreme rainfall events and to analyze the impact of El Nino extreme rainfall events on the availability of ground water for plant growth and determining planting times in areas with local rainfall patterns and equatorial rainfall patterns. This study uses several elements of Meteorological weather parameters, namely, temperature, wind speed, air humidity, sunlight and rainfall over a period of 30 years (1994-2023). The approach used is descriptive-analytical, emphasizing the analysis of average rainfall data, analysis of extreme El Nino rainfall, analysis of land water balance and analysis of planting seasons. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it was found that El Nino extreme rainfall has a significant influence on areas with local rainfall patterns and equatorial rainfall patterns. The role of the government is needed by providing counseling and socialization to prepare farmers to adapt to climate change.Further research is needed to examine the planting season adaptation strategy based on the type of plant that is appropriate to the extreme water deficit conditions due to El-Nin

School-age children are the nation’s investment because they are the next generation. School age is a period of growth and development of children towards adolescence, so it is necessary to provide nutrition of good quality and quantity. Adequate intake of permitted foods that are safe for consumption is very important. The habit of consuming street food is very popular among school children. It is important to pay attention to the food environment in schools, because there are quite a lot of unhealthy foods available in schools. This study aims to determine and study food safety from a microbiological perspective in several elementary schools in Amahusu State, Ambon City. This research is descriptive. The research was conducted in two stages, including a survey (questionnaire distribution) and a microbiological test (ALT). The result of the study shows that samples A1 (Fried Rice) and A2 (Bakpao Cake) at SD Negeri 1 Amahusu have a number of microbes that are still below the threshold set by SNI, as well as samples B1 (Fried Rice) and B2 (Donut Cake), the number of microbes is still below the threshold set by SNI. Where as in samples C1 (Fried Rice) and C2 (Egg Meatballs) the number of mirobes passed through the limits set by SNI. Apart from that, the implementation of sanitation and hygiene has not been carried out optimally by sellers at elementary schools in Amahusu, Ambon City

    Get PDF
This article investigates the role of the Ambon City Government in stunting prevention through the lens of collaborative governance and strategic health communication. Drawing on a qualitative political sociology approach, the study explores how municipal authorities integrate diverse actors—including the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), traditional villages (desa and negeri), health institutions, and non-governmental organizations—into a multi-sectoral governance network aimed at reducing stunting prevalence. The research also examines the city’s use of strategic communication tools such as public service announcements (PSAs), billboards, banners, and community outreach programs to influence public behavior and raise awareness about stunting-related health risks. Findings reveal that effective inter-institutional collaboration, reinforced by culturally resonant and consistent communication efforts, significantly contributes to policy coherence and public engagement. Moreover, the allocation of targeted budgets indicates strong political commitment, enhancing policy legitimacy and implementation outcomes. The study contributes to social science and humanities discourse by offering a context-specific analysis from Eastern Indonesia—an area underrepresented in global governance and public health literature. The integration of governance theory, political sociology, and strategic health communication presents a novel interdisciplinary framework for evaluating public health interventions. It also proposes a replicable model of urban collaborative governance applicable to similarly structured socio-political environments in the Global South
