2007: un punto de inflexión para el periodismo financiero internacional
Get PDFThe 21st century has brought big convulsions to the economic international journalism focused in The United States. The battle in the network, the expansion of the informative economic power and the change of mentality of managerial groups, and of the own audience, has derived in a war that lead the big leaders who, with more than hundred years of tradition some ones, have been an object of sales or mergers to adapt to the new times. Particularly, this year 2007 has supposed a point of important inflexion in the measure that has been the scene of three facts of special relevancy in the financial and journalistic world: on the one hand, the merger of both leading agencies of the economic world information, Reuters and Thompson; for other one, The Wall Street Journal's sale, the jewel of the financial American journalism that, after one century in hands of the group Dow Jones, has been bought by Ruphert Murdoch. The magnate of the press, in addition, has started a new financial television, the Fox Business, to face the all-powerful CNBC. Undoubtedly, they traverse new airs for the financial international journalism.El siglo XXI ha traído grandes convulsiones al periodismo económico internacional focalizado en Estados Unidos. La batalla en la red, la expansión del poder informativo económico y el cambio de mentalidad de grupos empresariales, y de la propia audiencia, ha derivado en una guerra que protagonizan los grandes líderes que, con más de cien años de tradición, algunos, han sido objeto de ventas o fusiones para adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos. Particularmente, este año 2007 ha supuesto un punto de inflexión importante en la medida que ha sido el escenario de tres hechos de especial relevancia en el mundo financiero y periodístico: por un lado, la fusión de las dos agencias líderes de la información económica mundial, Reuters y Thompson; por otro, la venta de The Wall Street Journal, la joya del periodismo financiero estadounidense que, tras un siglo en manos del grupo Dow Jones, ha sido comprado por Ruphert Murdoch. Interpretación de las encuestas de opinion sobre la intención de voto en las elecciones generales en España (1977-2000)

The data interpretation by both journalists and companies themselves that are developed, are crucial to understand the controversies that have become at several times. This article studies the degree of certainty of these interpretations, through quantitative and qualitative analysis of surveys published in major newspapers, in Spanish general elections from 1977 to 2000.Las encuestas de opinión, publicadas en la prensa escrita, para conocer la intención de voto ante unas elecciones generales han sido parte del debate político. La interpretación de los datos, tanto por parte de los periodistas como de las propias empresas que las elaboran, son cruciales para entender lo polémicas que han llegado a ser en muchas ocasiones. Get PDFThe aim of this study is to analyze some of the foreign U.S. policy strategy key points that have remained for several centuries through the film Wag the Dog (Barry Levinson, 1997). The film shows how this strategy combines antagonistic aspects such as materiality (financial gain) and spirituality (religion). The "Manifest Destiny", formulated in 1845 but whose origins date back to the arrival of the first British settlers in the early seventeenth century, allows Americans to expand, to intervene other powers affairs and to start conflicts having God on their side. The United States becomes freedom guards inside and outside its borders. This means confronting those who seek to end their system, their way of life. Construction of the enemy becomes a key element in justifying the war.El objetivo de este estudio es analizar algunas de las claves de la estrategia de política exterior que Estados Unidos mantiene desde hace varios siglos a través de la película La Cortina de humo (Wag the Dog, Barry Levinson, 1997). El largometraje refleja cómo ésta combina aspectos antagónicos, como lo material (el beneficio económico) y lo espiritual (la religión). El “Manifest Destiny”, que se formula en 1845 pero cuyo origen se remonta a la llegada de los primeros colonos británicos a comienzos del siglo XVII, permite a los estadounidenses expandirse, intervenir en los asuntos de otras potencias e iniciar conflictos teniendo a Dios de su parte. Los Estados Unidos se convierten en vigilantes de la libertad dentro y fuera de sus fronteras. Esto supone enfrentarse a aquéllos que pretenden acabar con su sistema, con su modo de vida. Aristocrat, theatre director and then, film director, shot just over twenty films until his death. Among his work are the titles: Obsesión, La tierra tiembla, Senso, Rocco y sus hermanos, Boccaccio 70, El gatopardo, Las brujas, El extranjero, La caída de los dioses, Muerte en Venecia, Luis II de Baviera, Confidencias o El inocente. His aesthetic, dream and of course, theatrical taste, has made his films become, individually, real examples of what is learned in the field of audiovisual narrative. This article tries to unravel its characteristics from the perspective of a young student who begins to form as a filmmaker.Este artículo pretende reflexionar sobre la narrativa audiovisual de Luchino Visconti di Modrone (Milán, 1906 – Roma, 1976). Aristócrata, director teatral y después, director de cine, rodó más de veinte películas justo hasta el año de su muerte. Entre su obra destacan los títulos: Obsesión, La tierra tiembla, Senso, Rocco y sus hermanos, Boccaccio 70, El gatopardo, Las brujas, El extranjero, La caída de los dioses, Muerte en Venecia, Luis II de Baviera, Confidencias o El inocente. Su gusto estético, onírico y por supuesto, teatral, ha hecho que sus películas se conviertan, individualmente, en auténticos ejemplos de todo lo que se estudia en materia de narrativa audiovisual. Un análisis de la adaptación al cine de La lista de Schindler por parte de Steven Spielberg
Get PDFThis journal article deals with the problem of Steven Spielberg’s screen adaptation of Thomas Kenally’s novel Schindler’s List, originally published as Schindler’s Ark in 1982. Firstly we focus on Herbert Steinhouse’s journalistic account of the story, published in 1995, but supposedly written more than thirty years before. Steinhouse’s account centres around Oskar Schindler, without mentioning Amon Goeth: he does tell how Schindler influenced on the killing of the local SS commander. Keneally’s story is not based on Steinhouse’s account, but on what is orally told to him firstly by Leopold Page (previously known as Pfefferberg) and then by other survivors he interviews. Spielberg departs from Keneally’s novel, which is complemented by other oral accounts from witnesses of the dramatic events that are told. Although the film includes some fictitious elements —especially near its end—, it does manage to faithfully retell Keneally’s novel, whose main structure coincides with Steinhouse’s account.Este artículo aborda el tema de la adaptación al cine por parte del director Steven Spielberg (1993) de la novela de Thomas Keneally Schindler’s List, publicada originalmente con el título Schindler’s Ark en 1982. Nos fijamos inicialmente en la breve crónica de Herbert Steinhouse, publicada en 1995, pero supuestamente escrita más de treinta años antes, que se centra en la figura de Oskar Schindler sin mencionar a Amon Goeth, y dando cuenta de cómo Schindler influyó en la muerte del Comandante local de la SS. Keneally no parte de ese relato, sino del que le transmiten de forma oral en un primer momento Leopold Page (antes conocido como Pfefferberg) y otros supervivientes a los que entrevista. Spielberg a su vez se basa inicialmente en la novela de Keneally, que completa con más relatos orales de testigos de los dramáticos sucesos que se narran. Aunque la película incluye algunos detalles ficticios —especialmente hacia el final del relato—, logra reproducir de manera fidedigna lo narrado por Keneally en su novela, cuya estructura principal coincide con la crónica de Steinhouse

Gracias a la aparición de la democracia y del sufragio censitario -que después evolucionó al universal masculino-, es posible la aparición de la opinión pública. La opinión pública resulta ser clave para llevar a cabo unas decisiones políticas que, principalmente, sirven para ofrecerle un papel protagonista al pueblo.
