RADIO EMISSION FROM LOW-MASS ACTIVE GALACTIC NUCLEI
Massive black holes of a few million to billion solar masses lurk at the centers of the most present-day massive galaxies but their origin is still unknown. The low mass galaxies (M* ~ 3x109 Mʘ ) hosting black holes with masses ranging from 103 to 105 Mʘ are ideal laboratories to test the models of black hole formation and they may help in understanding the co-evolution of central black holes with their host galaxies. In this thesis, we have developed a detailed theoretical model/framework to estimate the radio emission from low-mass active galactic nuclei (AGN). We also compute the contribution of radio emission from HII regions and supernova remnants in the host galaxy. Our estimated radio fluxes for AGN of 105 -107 Mʘ range from 0.6-2000 nJy at redshift 10 assuming the Eddington limited accretion. The most recent observations by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) have unveiled the presence of low-mass AGN at high redshift. We predict that these newly observed sources can be detected in radio with upcoming radio telescopes such as the next-generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) and the Square Kilometer Array (SKA) for integration times of 1-100 hours. These observations will unambiguously confirm the existence of AGN
Force Majeure in FIDIC Contracts: A Comparative Study Study of the FIDIC International Model 2017 Red Book
The implementation of international and internal FIDIC contracts is obstructed by some circumstances, which prevent the implementation of one or some of these contract obligations or may terminate the implementation of the contract permanently for one of its parties. Among those circumstances is the force majeure (exceptional event); Therefore, its concept must be defined in the FIDIC contracts, and the extent of its distance or proximity to its general concept in the rule of general rules. In addition to the need to prove them and verify their availability by notification of their availability in the cases specified by those contracts and comparing them with the cases stipulated by internal legislation, and whether or not they are specified exclusively or not. This ultimately leads to determining and controlling its effects on the contract in relation to the period of implementation of the contract, whether in terms of reducing the delay in implementing the obligation, prolonging its completion period or recovering additional dues paid due to this circumstance, or with regard to terminating all contractual obligations, whether by voluntary termination of the contract, or exemption from liability if the contractual obligation violates the law.
تعترض تنفيذ عقود الفيديك الدولية والداخلية بعض الظروف التي تحول دون تنفيذ أحد التزامات تلك العقود أو بعضها، أو قد تنهي تنفيذ العقد نهائيًا بالنسبة إلى أحد أطرافه. ومن تلك الظروف ظرف القوة القاهرة (الحدث الاستثنائي)؛ لذلك وجب تحديد مفهومه في عقود الفيديك، ومدى بعده أو قربه من مفهومه العام في حكم القواعد العامة. إضافة إلى الحاجة لإثباته ومعرفة مدى تحقق توافره بالإخطار عن توافره في الحالات التي حددتها تلك العقود ومقارنتها مع الحالات المنصوص عليها بالتشريعات الداخلية، وهل هي مُحددة على سبيل الحصر أم لا. وهو ما يقود في النهاية إلى تحديد وضبط آثاره في العقد فيما يتعلق بمدة تنفيذ العقد سواء من ناحية التقليل من التأخر في تنفيذ الالتزام، أم إطالة مدة إنجازه أو استرداد المستحقات الإضافية المدفوعة جراء هذا الظرف، أو فيما يتعلق بإنهاء الالتزامات التعاقدية كلها سواء بإنهاء العقد اختياريًا، أم الإعفاء من المسؤولية إذا خالف الالتزام التعاقدي القانون.

Substantive Criminal Protection of Scientific Journals from Phishing: A Comparative Study
The Academic sector faces many threats relating to ensuring its quality including the spread out of phishing for scientific journals done by cyber criminals with the aim of collecting money through the activities of researchers.
Academic phishing is considered one of the most noticed activities in the field of electronic publishing, especially in the use of knowledge at the electronic environment and the use of information circulation via the internet technology.
However, there are negative effects resulting from electronic phishing of scientific journals. Such effects represented in the loss of the academic work done by the researchers or that of the supporting institutions, in addition to the negative economic effects representing in the loss of monies or the seizure of bank accounts or private credit cards of researchers.
For carrying out of this study, two sections will be under consideration. Section one dealt with general provisions relating to the question phishing sites of scientific journals. Section Two devoted to the discussion of the penal and technical protection of the addresses of the web domain of scientific journals .

ويعد التصيد الإلكتروني لمواقع المجلات العلمية أحد الشواهد الملحوظة والمتنامية في عمليات النشر الأكاديمي، ولاسيما ضمن البيئة الإلكترونية في عصر المعرفة والاستخدام التقني لتداول المعلومات، بيد أن هناك آثارًا سلبية ناجمة عن عملية التصيد الإلكتروني للمجلات العلمية، وتتمثل تلك الآثار في عدم القدرة على الاستفادة من الجهد العلمي المبذول في النشر العلمي من الباحثين أو المؤسسات الأكاديمية الداعمة للبحث العلمي، إضافة إلى الآثار السلبية الاقتصادية الناجمة عن ضياع الأموال، أو الاستيلاء على الحسابات البنكية، أو بطاقات الائتمان للباحثين.
ومن أجل الإحاطة بالجوانب المتعلقة بهذه الدراسة، قُسِّمت دراستنا إلى مبحثين؛ تناولنا فيهما الأحكام العامة لمواقع التصيد الإلكتروني للمجلات العلمية في المبحث الأول، وسلطنا الضوء على الحماية الجزائية والتقنية لعناوين نطاق المواقع الإلكترونية للمجلات العلمية في المبحث الثاني
APPROXIMATE COMPUTING BASED PROCESSING OF MEA SIGNALS ON FPGA
The Microelectrode Array (MEA) is a collection of parallel electrodes that may measure the extracellular potential of nearby neurons. It is a crucial tool in neuroscience for researching the structure, operation, and behavior of neural networks. Using sophisticated signal processing techniques and architectural templates, the task of processing and evaluating the data streams obtained from MEAs is a computationally demanding one that needs time and parallel processing.This thesis proposes enhancing the capability of MEA signal processing systems by using approximate computing-based algorithms. These algorithms can be implemented in systems that process parallel MEA channels using the Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). In order to develop approximate signal processing algorithms, three different types of approximate adders are investigated in various configurations. The objective is to maximize performance improvements in terms of area, power consumption, and latency associated with real-time processing while accepting lower output accuracy within certain bounds.
On FPGAs, the methods are utilized to construct approximate processing systems, which are then contrasted with the precise system. Real biological signals are used to evaluate both precise and approximative systems, and the findings reveal notable improvements, especially in terms of speed and area. Processing speed enhancements reach up to 37.6%, and area enhancements reach 14.3% in some approximate system modes without sacrificing accuracy. Additional cases demonstrate how accuracy, area, and processing speed may be traded off.
Using approximate computing algorithms allows for the design of real-time MEA processing systems with higher speeds and more parallel channels. The application of approximate computing algorithms to process biological signals on FPGAs in this thesis is a novel idea that has not been explored before
ESTIMATING MARS SURFACE WIND STRESS AND DUST LIFTING USING REANALYSES BASED ON EMM AND OTHER SPACECRAFT OBSERVATIONS
Dust is the primary aerosol in Mars’ atmosphere and has strong interactions with visible light from the Sun and infrared emission from the surface and air. Understanding dust dynamics in the Martian atmosphere is critical for our understanding of its weather and climate. The rate at which dust is lifted from the surface at different locations is very difficult to measure yet determines the amount of dust in the atmosphere at any given time. This thesis investigates the role of near-surface wind stress (NSWS) and dust lifting rates, using six reanalysis datasets, respectively: MACDA, EMARS, OpenMARS, ACS-TIRVIM (ExoMars observations of the MY34 Global Dust storm), EMM1 and EMM2. Following the parameterization approach by Newman et al. (2002a), areas of agreement and discrepancy among datasets were identified. Time series analysis revealed consistent results where datasets overlap temporally. Notably, global dust storms during Martian years 25 and 34 resulted in increased drag velocities and vertical fluxes. Future work should adopt new methodologies incorporating variable thresholds and roughness values, enhancing dust lifting rates accuracy and reliability on Mars
EXPLORING THE RELATIONSHIP AND IMPACT OF ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS COPING ON THE MEANING MADE, FOLLOWING THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE
Coping after a loss of a loved one can play out differently for different individuals. The existing literature examines coping with loss and bereavement, but it is often with specific types of loss, and usually with western populations or religions. This paper examines the impact of Islamic religious coping onto the meaning made following the loss of a loved one to death, in a diverse ethnic background sample population of various Muslims who have experienced loss in the past 5 years. The study focuses specifically on positive religious coping, and whether it would have a positive and strong relationship with the ability to integrate the stressful life experience (i.e., loss or grief). A comprehensive survey including 3 measures, was sent out electronically and gathered over 500 responses, where 267 entries were recorded after the inclusion criteria. Four linear regression analyses were conducted to examine the relationship between positive coping and the 2 sub variables of the ISLES, as well as its total score, with a further exploration of the effect of the time of loss. The results show a significant positive relationship(p0.05) with the comprehensibility subscale (r=.731). Time of loss also showed an impact, explaining that the more time passes, the better the coping and integration of the loss experience. We can conclude that positive Islamic coping can help individuals to process and integrate the painful experience of loss, and allows them to remain functioning forward, with no impact on values or footing in the world
ASSESSING OPEN SOURCE TOOLS FOR ENHANCED FORENSIC ANALYSIS OF UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLES (UAVS)
The widespread applications of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly referred to as drones, has given rise to significant national security threats due to their illicit activities. Consequently, the domain of UAV forensics is rapidly evolving, presenting a substantial knowledge deficit among forensic experts. Open-source tools provide accessible and affordable resources, making it easier for investigators to bridge this gap by gaining expertise in the use of these tools. This helps ensure that forensic professionals can keep up with the ever-changing UAV technology landscape. This thesis undertakes the mission of navigate the complex field of drone forensics and conducting a comprehensive assessment of Open Source Tools to enhanced Forensic Analysis of UAVs. The overarching goal is to enhance drone forensic investigations and reinforce national security within the UAE. The paper offers an exhaustive state-of-the-art review of drone forensics, with a particular emphasis on innovative solutions designed to address digital forensics challenges. Additionally, it delves into the pivotal role of open-source tools in the analysis of drone flight log data and assesses their reliability. The study centers its analysis on the dataset FLY035, extracted from the popular DJI Phantom IIII model and sourced from the Computer Forensic Reference Datasets (CFReDs) project powered by VTO Labs, a reputable and independent institution specializing in drone-related data and research. The study employs a combination of open-source tools, including CSView, Autopsy, and QGIS, to meticulously extract and identify critical artifacts embedded within the recorded flight logs. The results of this analysis involve the extraction of vital information, including flight paths, geospatial coordinates, altitude, and timestamps. Through systematic analysis and correlation of these artifacts, the research contributes to the advancement of drone forensics by providing a theoretical drone forensics framework. This thesis is valuable for investigative efforts, highlighting the importance of open-source technology for sustainable development as an accessible, transparent and cost-effective solution and a practical guide for professionals who seek to leverage open-source resources for forensic investigation and aligns with the UAE\u27s strategies in facilitating the safe use of drone technology while preserving national security
MAXIMISING CAPTURED POWER AND BATTERY MANAGEMENT FOR HEAVING WAVE ENERGY
Sea waves are considered the most potent energy carriers among all sources of renewable energy. This research work is concerned with developing technologies to enhance performance and improve power capturing and conversion capabilities of a single heaving wave energy converter (WEC) actuated by a PMLG (Permanent Magnet Linear Generator). The objective of this dissertation is achieved by three techniques. The first one considers maximizing conversion between the mechanical and electrical powers. It is implemented by designing intrinsic resistance using a rapid procedure involving the mechanical and electrical models of the converter and considering its operating constraints. A robust PID (proportional – integral – derivative) controller is synthesized using complex polynomial stabilization to satisfy robust performance specifications and is utilized in the servo feedback control system to follow the velocity reference which is generated by the designed intrinsic resistance. The method is tested in several nominal and perturbed scenarios and its performance is compared with existing control strategies. It is also verified experimentally on a hardware in the loop experiment rig. In the second technique, a novel simple resonance circuit is implemented to maximize the ac-dc power conversion of a PMLG. A procedure is developed for designing a two-sided planner PMLG considering the corresponding physical parameters. The resonance circuit is composed of a three-phase rectifier with a shunt connection of capacitors between its diodes. The performance of the proposed circuit is compared with an existing resonance circuit. The designed resonance circuit generates more power, requires fewer components and presents fewer harmonics. Finally, a novel operation and control strategy for a wave power system consisting of a WEC, a battery storage unit, and a set of loads, is proposed to control the power flow at DC-link terminal
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STARTUPS’ EARLY ADOPTION OF DIGITAL PLATFORMS AND STARTUPS’ PRE-MONEY VALUATION
The objective for this research was to explore whether there was a significant positive relationship between startups’ early adoption of the digital platforms, namely, 1) mobile application, 2) a premium domain name website, and 3) the existence of active startup social media accounts, and startups’ pre-money valuation. To achieve this objective, this research used a relatively novel method in entrepreneurial research to collect data, whereby LinkedIn’s Sales Navigator was used along with an automation tool in order to send hundreds of automated connection and message requests to investors on LinkedIn who were sent a copy of the survey questions along with an explainer YouTube video asking them to answer a scenario-based survey questionnaire that presented them with 16 hypothetical startup companies divided into two groups.By analyzing the results of 243 completed surveys received using Ordinary Least Squares regression analysis with standard errors clustered at the respondent level, referred to as the ‘Hainmueller-method, this study produced findings in support of the main hypotheses that early adoption of digital platforms by startups had a strong positive relationship with startups’ premoney valuation. This study also found that adoption of mobile applications increased pre-money valuation by 6%, premium website increased valuation by 2.2%, while active social media accounts increased the valuation by 4.4%. These results clearly indicated that all the aforementioned digital platforms are important to potential investors when assigning valuation to the startup company. Therewith, all expectations formulated prior to fielding the experiment were confirmed by the analysis of the results.On the other hand, the effects of the difference in grouping was also analyzed, and it was found that group A startup companies, which had three co-founders, management and startup experience, and a technical co-founder, received approximately 18.7% higher valuation than group B startup companies, which comprised of one founder each, with no experience in startup management and no technical co-founder.By answering its research question, this research provides guidance to both investors and entrepreneurs. For the investors, this study provides a general framework for how other investors view the adoption of digital platforms vs. development of internal capabilities within the startup firm. For the entrepreneurs, this study offers a practical guidance and roadmap for their consideration of both digital platforms and internal capabilities. As can be concluded from the results, group B received 18.7 percentage less valuation than group A, despite being in the same technological maturity level for the eight companies across both groups. This means that, if all things being equal, entrepreneurs should probably focus more on building internal capabilities such as bringing more co-founders with management or startup experience and a strong technical team than focus on building or developing a mobile application. While startup companies with existing strong founding team may expect to receive higher valuation for their adoption of digital platforms, they can use this study as a guidance as well to prioritize the development of these digital platforms. For example, startup firms with strong founding team who have limited budgets that can be only spent on one of the three digital platforms may find it more rewarding to spend it on developing a mobile application than to acquire a premium website. Alternatively, startup companies that already have a mobile application developed may want to focus more on activating their social media accounts rather than purchasing a .com premium domain name as they would expect to receive a higher valuation for having active social media accounts vs. having a premium domain name
THE ROLE OF SCHOOL–COMMUNITY COLLABORATION IN THE INCLUSIVE EDUCATION (IE) PRACTICES CONCERNING STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (SENs) IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN ABU DHABI
This dissertation investigates the multifaceted role of school–community collaboration in inclusive education (IE) practices for students with special educational needs (SENs) in Abu Dhabi’s public and private schools in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Over the past two decades, the UAE government has intensified its efforts to enhance the realm if special education, aiming to improve SEN students’ social, cognitive, and academic outcomes. National attention for these practices aligns with the broader aspiration to establish an inclusive and equitable society.The primary objective of this study is to explore the intricacies of school–community collaboration in fostering inclusive education practices. In addition, this study aims to identify the factors that enable or hinder such collaboration. Employing a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, this study comprised filling online survey questionnaires based on the SEND Reflection Framework, which were distributed to 161 teachers. Furthermore, focus group discussions and one-on-one interviews with 28 school leaders from both sectors were conducted.The analysis of collected data revealed three pivotal findings: (1) the significance of “systems and processes” in facilitating effective family communication, (2) the critical role of a supportive environment for effective professional collaboration, and (3) the importance of professional development (PD), substantiated by a p-value of 0.002, in creating an environment conducive to effective learning.These findings not only contribute to the extant literature on IE and special education but also offer insights into the distinct frameworks of school–community collaboration in Abu Dhabi’s public and private educational systems. The study provides actionable recommendations while highlighting the challenges and opportunities in establishing effective school-community collaboration. This study fills an existing gap by offering an in-depth understanding of teachers and school leaders\u27 practices of the SEND framework and how it affects the inclusion and school-community collaboration concerning SEN students in public and private schools of Abu Dhabi. The complexities of fostering collaborative partnerships, thereby contributing to the growing body of knowledge on effective strategies for inclusive education in the region
