COVID-19 crisis and stock market volatility in Nigeria: A GARCH model approach
Get PDFThe economic downturns locally and internationally due to the COVID-19 crisis were the main motivation for this study. However, rather than broadly examining economic indices, this paper focused on the reaction of the Nigerian stock market in terms of volatility to the crisis. The specific objectives of the study were to identify differences in market performance due to the COVID crisis, determine volatility persistence and ascertain the leverage effects of the news on stocks on the stock exchange floor. Adopting an ex-post facto research design, monthly time-series All-Share Index data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, GARCH(1,1), and EGARCH models. It was found that volatility existed in the market during the COVID-19 crisis however volatility persistence was low. EGARCH results showed asymmetric parameters did not exist revealing the form of leverage effect COVID-19 posed to the market. The market thus had identical responses to both bad and good news of COVID-19 announcements of the same magnitude. It was recommended that regulatory authorities and policymakers be proactive in their approach to forecasting market performance to reduce the negative effects of bad news on market indices
Energy efficiency and the link with society
Get PDFThe results obtained in the linking process are shown with society as one of the substantive activities, in the period 2021-2022 carried out by students of the Electrical Engineering career. The project encouraged students to train a group of people through practical methodologies to have minimum knowledge related to energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. The qualitative and quantitative method was used, which allowed describing the results of the survey without altering their respective variables. The population was made up of 45 people belonging to various cantons of the province of Manabí, such as Flavio Alfaro, Bahía de Caráquez, el Carmen, 24 de Mayo, Chone, Santa Ana, Rocafuerte and different places in the canton of Portoviejo, and province of Orellana, which were selected at random, the preparation of the didactic material was carried out. Among the results, it was highlighted that the participants did not know how energy can help the environment, but nevertheless they were aware that energy is related to the environment and dependence on society. 
Leadership style and personnel performance: A literature review
Get PDFThis article mainly discusses the relationship between leadership style and employee performance. Research on the relationship between leadership style and employee performance still shows mixed results. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between leadership style and employee performance by comparing the results of primary research on these two variables. The method used is a conceptual analysis of various previous studies in the last ten years. The results show that there is a significant and positive relationship between leadership style and employee performance, especially in the Indonesian context where social relations take priority in society. This implies that managers must be able to create a favorable leadership style to encourage employee performance improvement, although this is not the only thing that must be considered

Morphological processes found in lexicon of Tajen
Get PDFThis research is entitled "Tajen Language in Balinese Society". This study focuses on the linguistic aspects contained in Tajen activities. This study aims to reveal the lexicon and its categorization, as well as to identify the morphological process happens to those words found. The research data was collected using field linguistic methods supported by note-taking techniques and interview methods. The data that has been grouped is then verified again to Bebotoh as informants through interview techniques related to the meaning of forms or varieties of Balinese speech in the implementation of the Tajen. The data were analyzed using the distributional method with the Immediate Constituent Analysis technique. The results of the analysis found 146 lexicons related to Tajen. The lexicons then are classified based on grammatical forms which are divided into two, namely basic forms and derived forms. There are 72 basic forms and 74 derivative forms. The derived forms are the result of morphological processes, namely the process of compounding, affixation, clipping, and reduplicatio

Effect of inflation, consumption credit on purchase power of the community
Get PDFThe people's purchasing power as seen through per capita expenditure adjusted for the province of West Java during the last 4 years 2017-2020, tends to increase and in the last year the purchasing power of the people of West Java has decreased due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of inflation and consumption credit on people's purchasing power in the province of West Java. The results of the study show that inflation and the distribution of banking consumption credit simultaneously have a significant effect on people's purchasing power. Partially, inflation has a negative and significant effect on people's purchasing power, while banking consumption credit has a positive and significant impact on people's purchasing power, economic growth, income per capita and other unknown variables
The effect of corporate branding, islamic corporate social responsibility (ICSR), ethics programs, on customer loyalty through corporate reputation and spiritual experience: Study on Indonesian Islamic Bank customers in East Java
Get PDFThis study was structured as an attempt to test several concepts regarding the variables that affect customer loyalty. Significant support was obtained in testing hypothesis 1 up to 10 which strengthen the concept of corporate brand, Islamic corporate social responsibility, corporate reputation, spiritual experience and customer loyalty. The sample is taken as many as 144 respondents using purposive sampling. Data was collected using a survey method through questionnaires filled out by customers. Then the data obtained were analyzed using sem amos version 26. Hypothesis testing in this study resulted in the company's brand having no significant effect on corporate reputation. Icsr has no significant effect on the company's reputation. Ethics program affects corporate reputation. Corporate branding significantly negative effect on spiritual experience. ICSR has no significant effect on spiritual experience. The company's brand has a negative and significant effect on customer loyalty. Icsr affects customer loyalty. Ethics program affects customer loyalty. Corporate reputation has a significant effect on customer loyalty.

School bullying and learning in high school students
Get PDFThe research was based on the study of bullying school and its impact on the learning of the students of the Educational Unit June 5 #34, of the Canuto parish, of the Chone canton. According to initial inquiries and diagnostic tests, it was possible to identify peer violence as one of the problems that significantly affects the performance of schoolchildren. From this, relevant themes were established in the theoretical framework in relation to school bullying and learning, which allowed analyzing the causes and consequences of bullying in the teaching-learning process. The objective was to determine the level of bullying and its effects on children's learning. The research had a mixed approach, that is, qualitative and quantitative, of a documentary type, with the implementation of the deductive method and the application of the survey as a data collection technique to investigate the behavior of the students and the intervention processes by of teachers in cases of school violence. It was obtained as a result that school bullying has a negative impact on student learning, due to psychological conditions, so it is necessary that teachers and parents are prepared to deal with these situations
Blockchain applications in business and financial activities in Vietnam: Situation, trends, opportunities and challenges
Get PDFThe emergence and rapid development of blockchain technology is an important milestone in the development of every country across the world. In Vietnam, blockchain is applied in many aspects of life, such as finance, banking, business, commerce, e-commerce, tourism, education, and healthcare. Previously, blockchain was known as the origin of cryptocurrencies. However, in recent years, blockchain technology and its applications have gone far beyond cryptocurrencies. This study aimed to assess the current situation, development trends, opportunities, and challenges in applying blockchain in business and financial activities. The research analyzed the Vietnamese government’s policies related to blockchain technology. In addition, the study updates the development trends of blockchain technology in business and financial activities through international scientific conferences, books, newspapers, and magazines. The study’s findings indicate that Vietnam is a high potential market for developing blockchain technology. Also, Vietnam faces many opportunities and challenges in catching up with this trend, especially when Vietnam is implementing many policies to develop the digital economy. Therefore, thanks to assessing the current situation, development trends, opportunities, and challenges in Vietnam, the study helps to suggest some solutions for the difficulties in applying blockchain technology, especially the thirst for human resources in the blockchain industry
