    Digital Transformation and Influence on Information Use in Indonesia

    Objective: With the presence of information technology can provide a variety of data or solutions for making a decision, and can be implemented properly. The existence of technology-based digital transformation as part of the development of a management information system requires everyone's knowledge of updated information and also reaches out to other parties from various places. Centrality of connectivity in public life. In 2020, the International Labor Organization (ILO) reported that the COVID-19 pandemic demands the capacity of workers to work remotely, so that access to connectivity is fundamental. Shift from network expansion to network densification Methodology:The current global challenge is to ensure that there is sufficient capacity, competition and affordability to provide internet networks as well as sustainable investment in the ICT sector. Network densification, or a strategy to provide more capacity for networks, is the main strategy for providing and developing 5G networks in the world.     Measuring the Effects of Soap Operas on Television Viewers: A Comparative Analysis of Male and Female Viewers

    Purpose: The present research seeks to explore the effects of Soap operas on television viewers. It had made comparative analysis of male and female viewer’s perception regarding the image of female empowerment as projected in soap operas. Design/Methodology/Approach: For this study, quantitative survey was conducted. By employing a framework of cultivation theory the effects of Star Plus soaps on the minds of viewers were examined. In this connection, 200 samples of respondents were drawn from the population by using purposive sampling technique. Findings: The results indicated that Star Plus soap operas had influenced the thinking of male and female respondents differently. Female respondents supported women’s equal rights for political, social and educational perspectives than male respondents.  Female respondents rejected wife battering and honor killing than males. Overall, it was noticed that female viewers of soap operas considered that subservience attitude of women was the actual reason of females’ suffering in the society.  Implications/Originality/Value: The findings suggest policy consideration to Pakistan Media industry regarding female’s portrayal in dramas. In Pakistan Urdu dramas are very popular in prime time. By projecting females in positive and strong roles, the concept of women empowerment can be disseminated in the society

    Perceived Appraisal Fairness Effect on Performance Appraisal Effectiveness and Appraisal satisfaction in Higher Education

    Purpose: The reactions of ratee to appraisal practices and their perceptions of appraisal system fairness may be a good indicator of appraisal system success. This research investigates employees' perception of performance appraisal (PA) aspects connected with organizational justice on Performance Appraisal effectiveness and employee satisfaction with the evaluation process in higher education. Design/Methodology/Approach: The partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to check the hypothesized results. Overall, 497 respondents filled the questionnaire with their views on appraisal fairness, effectiveness, and satisfaction with appraisal practices. Findings: The findings show a positive relationship between organizational justice dimensions (socially determined justice and structurally determined justice) with effectiveness and satisfaction with the appraisal system. However, satisfaction with performance appraisal effectiveness and socially determined justice do not have a statistically significant relationship. Furthermore, there is a significant mediation relationship between the appraisal system's effectiveness, employee satisfaction with performance appraisal, socially determined justice, and structurally determining justice. Implications/Originality/Value: The study presents some useful suggestions to managers working as appraisers on increasing the performance appraisal system effectiveness and making it acceptable for the employees with their satisfaction

    Factors Affecting Intention to Control Quality Safety: Evidence Food Supply Chain Firms

    Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of food certification, commitment and reputation on intention to control quality and safety in food supply chain firms of Pakistan. Consumers are now well aware about quality and safety measures for their better health through social media. Therefore, for the survival the food supply chain firms should have study the key variables which can build the confidence among consumers. Design/Methodology/Approach: For obtaining the research objectives of present the primary data collected through adopted questionnaire and survey method is applied. In this study 190 employees from food supply chain firms including the middle level and lower-level employees’ voluntary filled the self-administrative questionnaire.  For the analysis of gathered data the confirmatory factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed in AMOS version 25. Findings: Results, of this study confirmed positive and significant impact of food certification and commitment impact on intention to control quality and safety. However, reputation did not find to have significant impact of reputation on intention to control quality and safety in food supply chain firms. In addition, the commitment is the key factor which has more significant and positive impact on intention to control quality and safety in food supply chain firm’s due higher beta and p-value. Implications/Originality/Value: Based on limited knowledge of authors this is first study which gives insights from food supply chain firms related to intention to control quality safety

    Social Identity Issues in Children with Hearing Impairment during Transition from Secondary to Higher Secondary Level in Punjab

    Objective: Hearing Impaired students studying in the institutes of the special education Department Punjab at secondary to higher secondary level face problems regarding making choices of which field to choose or which area of work would be suitable to them. Among many issues which hinder students in making these decisions, social identity issues are the prime factor. The problem under research here relates to the sub-theories of social identity theory, namely, social influence, group norms, self enhancement, uncertainty reduction and motivation. Methodology: Population of the study was children with hearing impairment at higher secondary level in special education institutes. Sample of 100 hearing impaired students was taken randomly from the Govt Special Education Institutes of Punjab of which 59 were male and 41 were females. Findings: Social identity in terms of linguistic differences of the bilingual deaf culture arising in the institutes of Punjab is important and ignored factor. Implications: Study is useful for teachers and parents to resolve the linguistic problems in students with hearing impairment. Moreover, other organizations can formulate a strategy to address issues related to career counseling and government can work on standardization and recognition of Sign language in Pakistan as a unique and independent language

    Determinants of Convexity in the Flow-Performance Relationship: A Study of Pakistani Mutual Funds

    Purpose: This paper aims to study the potential sources of convexity in the flow-performance relationship curve in the Asian region. Design/Methodology/Approach: The sample for this study includes 75 mutual funds from three broader investment categories: stock funds, balanced funds, and asset allocation funds. The data is collected from the financial reports of the respective funds from 2011 to 2020. The study employs the ordinary least square method on unbalanced panel data.  Findings: The findings show that the fund flows are positively associated with fund performance in the Pakistani mutual fund market. The result also confirmed that the shape of the relationship is convex. The fund size and marketing expenditures are positively associated with convexity. However, fund age does not affect the convexity. The Result also confirmed that fund rating is not an appropriate proxy for fund size. Practical Implication- In period of low performance mutual fund management can retain their investors by increasing their marketing expenditures and fund size. Originality/Value: This paper fulfills an identified need to study the sources behind non-linear flow-performance relationship curve in the Asian region. This study also aims to resolve the conflict in literature relating to the fund size on the convexity of the flow performance relationship.                                                    &nbsp

    Governing the Corporation: Regulations in the Era of Scandals and Globalization

    Purpose: This study evaluates the effects of the global financial crisis rooted in ethical deterioration. However, the worldwide regulatory reform agenda has largely overlooked this factor and focused on the technical needs. Also, look at the relative influence of various players within the corporate governance and regulatory equation to determine the shape that enforcement takes. Design/Methodology/Approach: The qualitative method is used in this study by analyzing statutes, local and international protocols, conventions, and treaties. Findings: In this work, the magnitude of the global financial disaster has shown how erroneous market ordering optimism. The tangible and conceptual certainty linked with finance capitalism's primacy has vanished. This has created a debate regarding the privileged and the general public. The critical question is how to respond. Rules are too readily transacted around, and principles lack the granularity to be enforceable to address ethical flaws. Implications/Originality/Value: We must pay considerably greater attention to the moral dimension of market activity or how people live their lives professionally. It is a chore we should avoid at all costs

    Analysis of Procedural Justice and Its Association with University Teachers’ Level of Job Satisfaction

    Purpose: This paper aims to investigate the effects of Procedural Justice on Teaching Faculty’s Job Satisfaction. The study was conducted in the higher educational institutions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, i.e. Bacha Khan University, University of Malakand, and the University of Swat. Methodology: The nature of the study was quantitative, and a questionnaire was used as a data collection tool for collecting information from the sample size of 217 respondents selected through the proportional allocation method. Findings: The study revealed a significant association (P≤0.05) of teacher satisfaction with the statements such as teachers’ unequal treatment from university administration, teachers are strictly dealt with the rule in case of any breach of law, the administration is dishonest, and insincere in term of fair treatment, no explanation regarding decision-making procedures, absence of communicating organizational information to teachers. Implications: The Government and administration should take positive steps to provide a good working environment to establish their trust by expanding cooperation towards employees, exploration of benefits for employees, strengthening employee relationships with each other, and encouragement of open communication that can stimulate and encourage exchanges of view between faculty and administration were forwarded some of the recommendations in light of the study findings

    Non-IMF Foreign Debt and Economic Growth: A Case of Developing Economy

    Purpose: This Study aims to investigate the impact of foreign debt on the economic growth of Pakistan by categorizing the foreign debt into two different factors: IMF debt and non-IMF debt. Design/Methodology/Approach: The secondary data was taken quarterly from the State Bank of Pakistan for the period 2010 to 2021, and Johansen cointegration analysis and the Vector error correction model were used to study the relationship. Findings: The study's findings revealed that the IMF debt is significantly positive in the short run, while non-IMF foreign debt has an insignificant relationship with economic growth. Moreover, short-run results also found an insignificant relationship between foreign debt servicing and inflation rate and economic growth. On the other hand, in the long run, the relationship between IMF debt, foreign debt servicing, and the inflation rate were found to be significantly negative with the economic growth, whereas a significant positive relationship was identified between the non-IMF foreign debt and the economic growth. Implications/Originality/Value: The study concluded that the authorities should avoid foreign debt from IMF and rely upon non-IMF foreign debt if ever financing through foreign debt is needed. Even though the non-IMF foreign debt has a positive impact on the economic growth in the long, this positive effect is counter-negated by the cost of foreign debt, which is the foreign debt servicing, due to its significant negative impact on the economic growth of Pakistan.                                      &nbsp

    Shareholder Rights and Performance of Deposit Taking SACCO’s

    Purpose:Greater attention has paid on shareholder rights in the 21st century by shareholders, regulators and the general public. Effective shareholder protection mechanisms have played a crucial role thus bolstering shareholder confidence and retention. this study probed the influence of shareholder rights on Deposit Taking SACCOs performance in Kenya. Design/Methodology: The relation was analyzed on the basis of all the 42 Deposit Taking SACCO’s   in Nairobi County. The study relied on primary data which was gathered using structured questionnaires from senior managers. Both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis  Findings: The results affirmed that shareholder rights positively and significantly influenced Deposit Taking SACCO’s performance in Kenya. Implications/Originality/Value: This paper enriches current literature by examining the influence of shareholder rights on Deposit Taking SACCO’s performance. The findings may be of vital importance to policy makers when developing policies on shareholder rights. Deposit Taking SACCOs leaders should take cognizance of shareholder rights particularly the right to participate in decision making, right to equitable treatment and right to access information so as to enhance performance.                                     &nbsp
