Effect of Natural Resources and Human Development on Industrial Production in Belt and Road Initiative Countries: An Analysis

    No full text
Purpose: This study examines the impact of natural resources, human development, and renewable energy on industrial productivity, utilizing data from 105 Belt and Road Initiative countries from 2001 to 2021. Panel-data estimation techniques are commonly employed to analyze data. Design/Methodology/Approach This set includes tests for DH causality, panel cointegration, slope homogeneity, cross-sectional dependence, FGLS, and PCSE models. The CIPS and CADF tests show that ED, GDP, NR, and GF are all level (1) stationary.    The GE and TR tests, on the other hand, indicate that the series is stationary at I (1).  The Wasteland and Pedroni tests support this result, which is consistent with the Model's long-term cointegration. The FGLS Model in BRI member countries also backs up the EKC framework. Findings: The findings indicate that BRI nations require green finance and renewable energy to diminish their carbon footprints. The research says that BRI countries are releasing more CO2 because they are mining for natural resources. Implications/Originality/Value The study says that if BRI countries want to help the environment, they should focus on green energy and long-term financing

    No full text
Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of corporate governance in influencing anti-money laundering efforts and financial statement fraud within banking firms listed on the IDX from 2018 to 2023.   Methodology: The research employs an associative method with a quantitative approach. Data collection is based on quantitative data sourced from secondary materials, such as annual and financial reports of banking companies listed on the IDX during the 2018–2023 period. Using a purposive sampling technique, the research population of 46 firms was refined to a sample of 39 companies over six years, resulting in a total of 234 observations. The study incorporates both independent and dependent variables. The independent variable, representing corporate governance strength, is measured using the GCG self-assessment of banking institutions. Meanwhile, the dependent variables include financial statement fraud and anti-money laundering. Data analysis is conducted using logistic regression analysis. Findings: The results indicate that strong corporate governance positively influences anti-money laundering measures while reducing the likelihood of financial statement fraud. Originality: The novelty of this study is looking into money laundering in banking, which is under-researched topic, modifying the Beneish M-Score, and evaluating GCG through self-assessment

Digital Technologies as Strategic Resources: A Resource-Based Framework for Supply Chain Visibility Enhancement

    No full text
Purpose: In the era of digital transformation, enhancing supply chain visibility through digital technologies is critical, yet there is limited consensus on their application across strategic, tactical, and operational levels within focal organization. This study investigates how digital technologies enhance supply chain visibility by enabling focal firms to acquire and exploit information from key stakeholders: suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Design/Methodology/Approach: Grounded in the resource-based view theory and employing structural equation modeling, the study analyzes the relationships between different levels of digital technology application and three dimensions of supply chain visibility: supplier, customer, and internal visibility. Findings: The findings reveal that strategic and tactical applications of digital technologies significantly enhance all three dimensions of supply chain visibility, while operational applications show no significant effect. Implications/Originality/Value: Findings advance the supply chain management literature by empirically validating the differential impacts of tactical and strategic digital technology applications on three distinct dimensions of supply chain visibility, conceptualized herein for the first time. Addressing recent calls for deeper inquiry into digital technology and supply chain management integration, it offers theoretical grounding via the Resource-Based View and practical guidance for manufacturing firms in emerging economies to enhance visibility and performance through targeted digital investments

Digital Disruption in Islamic Finance: A Comparative Study of FinTech in Islamic and Conventional Financial Systems (2020–2025)

    No full text
Purpose: This study investigates the transformative impact of financial technology (FinTech) on Islamic finance and compares its adoption and implications with conventional financial systems. It focuses on to understand how digital instruments are restructuring Islamic financial operations, education, and ethical practices, while emphasizing both the benefits and challenges of FinTech integration. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research is based on a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) integrated with contextualized case studies from publications between 2020 and 2025. It analyses the contribution of digital technologies such as blockchain, mobile banking, and digital platforms in the evolution of Islamic financial digitalized systems, particularly focusing on the ideologies of Shariah compliance. Findings: The findings show that FinTech elevates transparency, efficiency, and fraud reduction, but its acceptance in Islamic finance is gradual due to strict Shariah compliance requirements. In comparison, conventional finance adopts FinTech more qucikly due to fewer ethical and regulatory constraints. Key challenges in Islamic finance include regulatory gaps, limited infrastructure, and lack of practical implementation. Practical Implications: This research contributes valuable insights for policymakers, financial institutions, and educators by emphasizing the requirement for regulatory development, technological infrastructure, and ethical alignment in the Islamic FinTech landscape. It motivates proactive strategies to support innovation while maintaining Shariah compliance. Originality and Value: This study participates a comparative and interdisciplinary perspective on FinTech’s impact in Islamic finance. By connecting theoretical literature with practical case studies, it finds critical gaps and offers recommendations for ethical digital transformation, making it a strategic resource for stakeholders maneuvering Islamic financial modernization

Leveraging Supply Chain Visibility to Strengthen Risk Management: Insights from Information Processing Theory

    No full text
Purpose: This research examines the role of supply chain visibility in enhancing supply chain risk management amidst increasing global uncertainties. Drawing on Information Processing Theory, it investigates how visibility across suppliers, customers, and internal operations enables firms to effectively identify, assess, and mitigate risks within their supply chain networks. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study integrates a comprehensive literature review on supply chain visibility, risk management, and information processing, complemented by empirical evidence derived from a survey of 268 manufacturing firms. Findings: The results reveal that supplier visibility and internal operational visibility significantly influence both reactive and proactive dimensions of supply chain risk management. Conversely, customer visibility did not demonstrate a significant relationship with these risk management dimensions. Implications/Originality/Value: This research contributes to the academic discourse on supply chain risk management by empirically demonstrating the differential impact of various visibility dimensions. It also offers actionable guidance for managers, highlighting the strategic importance of fostering supplier and internal visibility as key assets for improved information processing and effective risk mitigation in complex global supply chains
