Introduction: Critical thinking skills must be improved and need to be started from the education stage. Mind map has been used as a learning method which is expected to improve the ability of prospective professional nurses in terms of critical thinking. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of reflective clinical learning with mind map on the critical thinking skills of nursing students in Yogyakarta.Method: This was a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design, pretest and posttest design with non-equivalent control groups. The research subject was a student in nursing profession program which found 40 people who were selected by purposive sampling. The research data collection was carried out in September-October 2022. The instrument used a critical thinking disposition self-rating form which was measured by a ratio scale. Results: A statistical test results paired t-test showed critical thinking skills in the intervention group, p-value = 0.144 (> 0.05) which means there is no significant difference in the average before and before treatment. With the same statistics, showing the critical thinking ability of the control group, p-value = 0.531 (> 0.05) which means there is also no significant difference in the average before and before the test in the group. Conclusions: Although there was no significant difference in the critical thinking ability of respondents between pre and post-test both the control group and the experimental group, there was an increase in the average score in experimental group after intervention, but in the control group it decreased at the post-test

Introduction: Caring is the core of the nursing process. Caring is the core competency standard that needs to be improved at the educational stage. SHARE framework is a learning strategy that is improved based on the framework to improve patient satisfaction. This study aims to develop a SHARE framework-based learning video to improve nursing students' caring attitudes. Methods: A sequential mixed methods study was used using Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in the first stage and a survey approach in the second stage. Ten nurses with more than ten years of experience caring for patients at the hospital located in Malang participated in FGD and obtained it by purposive sampling. Data collection followed FGD guidelines, and FGD was video recorded, then transcript verbatim for data analysis. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: Findings suggested five central themes of caring attitude that need to be improved in providing care consist of (1) Sense the patient’s needs, (2) helping the patient out, (3) acknowledging the patient’s feelings, (4) respect patient’s dignity and privacy, and (5) explain what is happening as mentioned in the SHARE Framework. The results of the FGD are included in the video scenario that will be made. The learning videos that have been compiled are then applied to nursing student learning. Conclusion: The development of a caring attitude based on the SHARE framework could be implemented by improving patient comfort through assessment and determination of the right problem, paying attention to the patient’s hygiene, meeting patient needs through creativity and innovation, building trusting relationships with patients and families, be a good listener, respecting patient wishes, use appropriate nonverbal language, greet the patients and provide appropriate education to the patient

The aim of this study was to analyze the level of evidence on the effectiveness of cognitive simulation therapy for elderly people with dementia. Methods: The systematic review of this study pays attention to the inclusion criteria, namely articles in English, using cognitive stimulation therapy interventions in the study and the population is the elderly. Articles sourced from the electronic databases Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, Scholar, and ProQuest, were identified as appropriate and relevant to this topic. Fifteen research studies were selected and analyzed because they qualify as review articles for systematic review. Results: Thirteen studies were Randomized Control Trial (RCT), one controlled clinical trial and one group pretest-posttest. The results showed that CST was very influential on memory, language comprehension, and orientation for cognitive improvement in mild to moderate dementia. CST should be done periodically to get good results. In addition, the effect of CST may differ according to what factors are emphasized in the program. Conclusion: CST in the elderly with mild to moderate dementia can significantly improve overall cognitive function

Introduction: The Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on nursing education in Indonesia. Most nursing education providers have not implemented online learning before the Covid-19 pandemic. All components of the campus must adapt quickly so that learning outcomes can be obtained as planned. This study aims to find out the factors that influence the satisfaction of nursing students in online learning.Method: This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population is  350 undergraduate nursing students in private nursing education. The response rate was 203 people (58%). Ethical clearance was conducted by the Etic Committee of  Bani Saleh School Health Science with the number EC.181 / KEPK / STKBS / VIII / 2022. Data collection is carried out from August to September 2022. Data analysis using SPSS 24 using spearman rank. Results: The results showed that most respondents were female, with a median age of 22.78 years, and most were in regular programs. Most of the students had online learning experiences before the pandemic. The median hours of online study are 7.66 hours. The results of the bivariate analysis show that the variables that have a relationship with positive direction and moderate correlation with student satisfaction are student readiness (p-value 0.00; r 0.55); learning design (p-value 0.000; r 0.44), technology support (p-value 0.00; r 0.48); lecturer interaction (p-value 0.000; r 0.40).   Variables that are related but have a positive direction with a weak correlation include the learning platform (p-value 0.000; r 0.30), social presence (p-value 0.000; r 0.26); direct instruction (p-value 0.000; r 0.26); student interaction (p-value 0.000; r 0.26) and learning content (p-value 0.000; r 0.30).Conclusions: All factors are related to student satisfaction in online learning. Factors that have a moderate correlation are student readiness, learner design, technology support, and lecturer interaction. Educational institutions must be proactive in reviewing online learning policies and conducting studies before implementing online learning methods

Introduction: Good scheduling arrangements are needed so that there is no physical, emotional and psychological fatigue to nurses, which will have a negative impact on the performance of nurses in providing services to patients. This study aims to develop an application model for the electronic rostering of nurses in the ward. Methods: The design in this study was Research and Development (R&D). The population of this study was all nurses who worked in the inpatient room. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Data for the assessment of scheduling characteristics were collected using questionnaire based on formulation of the problem and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Data analysis is in descriptive form. Results: Most of the respondents considered that ward scheduling characteristics were sufficient (80.2%). The development of electronic rostering model emphasizes on optimizing the needs and distribution of nurses, equalizing shift and off, and reducing time for preparing schedules. The development of an electronic rostering model was also adjusted to the policies of the hospital regarding the nurses’ work scheduling method so that it can be implemented appropriately in the ward. Conclusion: The development of an electronic work scheduling model for nurses in the inpatient room includes: division based on the level of patient dependence, scheduling flexibility by proposing early holidays and leave, and reducing the duration of nurses' rostering preparation

Introduction: School-age children need interesting and age-appropriate educational media as an effort to prevent risk factors of non-communicable desease. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of the Educational Game Media "Healthy Snacks Monopoly" for the aggregate of school-age children.Method: The research design used was descriptive cross-sectional. The sample in this study was divided into three, namely one person in charge of school children's health at the community health center, ten teachers, and 58 elementary school students. Data collection was carried out by validation of the material and media. The data analysis was a descriptive test that presents the results of frequency and percentage. Results: The results of the validation of the material obtained are that all respondents answered that the material presented in this educational media was in the decent to very feasible category. The results of the media validation obtained are that most of the questions answered "yes" by all respondents. There are only two categories with “no” answers, namely on the rules and the difficulty level of the game. In addition, in the final trial, it was found that most of the respondents answered "yes" in all categories. However, there is one category that 20% of respondents answered “no”, namely the message delivery category. Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that the educational game media "Healthy Snacks Monopoly" is feasible in terms of material and media appearance
