Introducing Vocabulary Tests in English Classes for Students with Visual Impairments: A Case Study
Get PDFThe importance of English language education in a globalized society has been emphasized for many years, but there has not been sufficient research conducted on English language education for students with visual impairments. This pilot study aims to identify issues that may arise in English classes that include students with different degrees of visual impairment and to aid research in the field of inclusive education.
English vocabulary tests for students with varying degrees of disability have been introduced in English classes at Kasuga campus, National University Cooperation Tsukuba University of Technology, in the 2022 academic year. Results suggest that the difference in time required between students using printed letters and braille to complete the tests is greater than typically expected.
This suggests that reconsidering the time required for certification examinations may be necessary and that early computer literacy education to implement computer-based testing may also be beneficial. Although more detailed experimental investigations are needed, this pilot study will lead to improvements in the learning environment for students with visual impairments, enabling them to learn more effectively and supporting them under the inclusive education system.departmental bulletin pape

「聴覚障害」「聾」「難聴」などの呼称に対するイメージ～聴覚障害学生の回答結果と諸文献における記述～
Get PDF筑波技術大学における「日本語社会とコミュニケーション」の受講生で同意書が得られた聴覚障害学生23名に障害の呼称について尋ねたところ，「聞こえない」を用いる人は「聾」を用いる人が多く，「聴覚障害」は「聞こえない」と「聞こえにくい」を含めた概念あるいは「聾」と「難聴」を含めた概念と思われる結果となった。「おし」「つんぼ」などのいわゆる放送禁止用語は，筆者が調べた範囲では，大人向けの国語辞典では現在も掲載されているが，児童向けの国語辞典では1990 年頃から削除されていた。「聾」について，以前は難聴者や中途失聴者を意味したが，最近は重度の聴覚障害者で手話を用いる者をイメージする人が増えていると思われた。departmental bulletin pape
基礎医学ウェブ教材共有ネットワークシステムの必要性─視覚障害者のための医療系職業教育機関の教員を対象とした調査─
Get PDF全国の視覚障害者のための医療系職業教育機関67校で解剖学と生理学を担当する専任教員を対象に，利用してきた教材，教材情報収集の苦慮，教材共有化への興味と利用希望，自身の教材公開の許諾等についてアンケート調査を2020年度に行った。61校の機関から回答が得られた。回答者312名のうち39%が点字または音声を主な使用文字としていた。57％がこれまで教材収集に苦労したと回答した。80％がウェブ教材共有ネットワークの利用を希望し，そのうち回答者の6割以上が，画像・動画・音声教材データの利用を望んだ。これまでの教材情報収集の苦労と，年齢，経験年数，ウェブへの興味や利用希望との間には相関関係は認められなかった（r<0.5）。これまで教材収集に苦労してきたからネットワークの利用を望むというより，近年の視覚障害者の教育現場を取り巻くICTの推進や遠隔授業の導入などの環境変化が, 新たな教材の必要性を教員に感じさせている可能性がある。departmental bulletin pape
