STUDY ON THE ESTROGENIC EFFECT OF CLITORIA TERNATEA ROOT IN OVARY REMOVED MICE
The sexual cycle in mammals are controlled by some hormones secreted from the gonads and pituitary gland. In ovariectomised mice there is no estrus cycle as there is no ovary to secrete the sex hormones. Exogenous supply of estrogen can induce estrus in laboratory mice. The present investigation was aimed to study the estrogenic effect of root extract of the plant Clitoria ternatea in ovariectomised mice. Methanol extract was prepared in soxlet apparatus and final extract was prepared by evaporating the excess methanol in a rotary evaporator. Then adult female mice showing normal estrus cycle were ovariectomised to cease the cycle. The ovariectomised mice were divided into four groups as control, positive control, test-1 and test-2 having 5 animals in each group. All the groups were kept under similar environmental conditions and supplied with same food. Control group received normal saline, positive control group received 0.1µg synthetic estradiol-17β per kg body weight, test-1 and test-2 groups received 200 and 400 mg root extract per kg body weight respectively. All the groups were given their respective dose for 7 consecutive days via oral route except positive control which was given subcutaneously. During the treatment period vaginal smear was studied to observe the induction of estrus. At the end of the experiment vaginal smears of all the experimental groups were studies. Then all the animals were sacrificed under anesthesia and blood were collected by heart puncture. Serum Estrogen level was estimated by commercial kit. Uterine wet weight was recorded immediately after the mice were sacrificed. In the present investigation it was found that the cells of vaginal smears showed cornification in comparison to that of the control group. The wet weight of the uteri was increased significantly in all the tested groups. Serum level of estrogen was increased significantly in positive control and both the test groups in comparison to the control group. From the present study it can be assumed that the plant extract may have some estrogenic property
Design and Development of Solar Insolation Simulator
To get the desired atmosphere for laboratory work is a difficult job for researchers. Specially, it is very much unreliable to get the required solar irradiance directly from the Sun. To solve this issue, a solar insolation simulator is designed and fabricated, through which the insolation can be easily controlled with the help of Arduino based system. In this simulator, solar energy is simulated using halogen bulbs, which provide the necessary insolation. The light dependent resistor (LDR) connected to the Arduino measures the amount of solar insolation falling on the solar PV module. A fan is used to extract out the access heat generated by the bulb
DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF MONOFREQUENCY TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER FOR RADIO PROPAGATION AT L-BAND
This paper presents an approach to designing and construction a monofrequency transmitter and monofrequency receiver at L band frequency range of 1.1GHz and the transmitting power is 5watts. The is aimed at instituting monofrequency transmitter and monofrequency receiver at L band for Laboratory uses and to investigate the behavior of radio propagation within the L frequency band (1-2GHz) was successful. The operational pattern of the messages sent through the transmitter was finally observed alongside the attenuation observed at the receiver
Easy designing steps of a local data warehouse for possible analytical data processing
Data warehouse (DW) are used in local or global level as per usages. Most of the DW was designed for online purposes targeting the multinational firms. Majority of local firms directly purchase such readymade DW applications for their usages. Customization, maintenance and enhancement are very costly for them. To provide fruitful e-services, the Government departments, academic Institutes, firms, Telemedicine firms etc. need a DW of themselves. Lack of electricity and internet facilities, especially in rural areas, does not motivate citizen to use the benefits of e-services. In this digital world, every local firm is interested in having their DW that may support strategic and decision making for the business. This study highlights the basic technical designing steps of a local DW. It gives several possible solutions that may arise during the design of the process of Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL). It gives detail steps to develop the dimension table, fact table and loading data. Data analytics normally answers business questions and suggest future solutions
