Abstract:  An automatic POS tagger is very essential component of any Natural Language Processing (NLP) work. It is one of the important steps towards the processing of Natural Language. There are various challenges in the tagging of POS and most of the time these are language-dependent. Assamese is one of the morphologically rich and free word order language. Because of this, the challenges are even more. In the present paper, the basic concept of the POS tagger and its importance in the NLP is discussed. In the later part of the paper, the overall characteristics of the Assamese language are discussed in short and its various challenges, that may raise towards the tagging of POS is discussed. The paper also discusses about the various POS techniques that are commonly used in the tagging of POS for the Assamese language

Relays play a great role in power system protection and fault diagnosis. The present work deals with a retrofitting work on the feeder panel of 33 KV Kachumari sub-station of APDCL under Sivasagar Electrical Circle. The system is integrated with ABB REF615 class numerical relays in series with the older generation of electro-mechanical relays. The mode of operations of the old and new systems, their circuit diagrams, CT and PT connections, among others have been explored. The whole process of retrofitting has been discussed in details. Investigations shows that the sensitivity of the new numerical relay is better and it is able to successfully isolate various faults viz. over current and earth faults. The fault event history after the installation of the numerical relay has been recorded and analyzed. The fault propagation to upstream grid side has been found to be considerably minimized after the retrofitting work. Since inception and commissioning, it is in service and helping in an improved customer experience

In-situ online data of 222Rn/220Rn gases, air temperature and relative humidity were measured at Mat fault, Mizoram (India) between May, 2018 and October, 2018 with a frequency of once a month. The measurement was carried out using a ZnS(Ag) alpha scintillation based counter named SMARTRnDuo (Model: BARC, India) equipped with capacitor type digital sensor (Model: DHT22/AM2302) for measuring the air temperature and relative humidity. The hourly and day-to-day variation of 222Rn/220Rn gases were correlated with the simultaneously recorded air temperature and relative humidity. The correlation analysis in general shows that 222Rn and 220Rn gases exhibit a negative correlation with air temperature and a positive correlation with relative humidity for the hourly average data. Understanding the influencing nature of meteorological parameters on 222Rn/220Rn exhalation is of vital importance especially in studies where 222Rn/220Rn gases were used as premonitory gases in order to avoid false signal. Hence the authors believe that the present study will serve as baseline data for future study carried out in the region related to 222Rn and 220Rn

A review of Terahertz technology and Metamaterial based electromagnetic absorber at Terahertz band

Terahertz (THz) technology, a new step towards the wireless communication is a recent topic of research. THz radiation has unique properties which make it better than microwaves, infrared, X-rays, etc. These radiations have wide applications in various fields like imaging, spectroscopy, security, biomedicine, sub-millimeter astronomy, in communication, etc. THz radiation sources and detectors play a vital role in the THz communication system.  The sources and detectors for THz radiation are still in a developing stage. As in naturally occurring materials, there is lack of good terahertz characteristic, so researchers are moving towards artificial one, i.e., the metamaterial based design. Metamaterial based design of generation and detection of THz radiation is the recent demands in the field of THz communication. Hence, we are focussing on the metamaterial based terahertz transmitter and receiver. So in this paper, a brief study of the THz technology based on metamaterial has been carried out and presented here

There is an inevitable decline in quality value especially the ascorbic acid in preserving cashew apple juice. The maximum shelf life of red sample of cashew apple juice was estimated and the quality value multivariate regression model was developed. Data were drawn from 34 full factorial experiments conducted in three replicates with the order of the replicates randomized. The model developed for the sample of cashew fruit juice revealed that pH and duration of storage with other interactions were the major parameters that govern the shelf-life and characterization qualities of cashew fruit juice. The coefficient of correlation (R2) of the dependent variable (ascorbic acid) and independent variables (temperature, total soluble solid, pH and duration of storage) in the model was 0.954. The regression model revealed that temperature of 34.4 OC, 11.13 OBrix value, pH of 3.99, 16 days storage duration of the sample maintained ascorbic acid levels of 239.59 mg/100 ml at maximum shelf life. The sample of the juice had 31 insignificant regression coefficients at 5 percent probability level after checking the adequacy of the predicted model. Equation 34 expresses the fitted model for predicting the shelf life of red sample of cashew fruit juice which recorded 17 experiments that did not meet minimum quality requirement of ascorbic acid level

SPATIAL VARIATION OF BENO-A-PYRENE, NICKEL AND LEAD CONFINED IN PM10 AS WELL MODELLING AND HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT

    Get PDF
Exposure to fine particulate matter from ambient air is a leading environmental contributor to disease burden across the world. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are the common environmental pollutants. PAHs are persistent organic pollutants and strive carcinogenic and mutagenic effects. Aerosol samples in the particulate phase were collected simultaneously for the first time in Numaligarh at an industrial and a traffic dominated site for two year to investigate the gas–particle partitioning of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) and heavy metal. The samples were collected using a high volume sampler on PTFE filter papers. Benzo-a-pyrene was analyzed using gas chromatograph-mass spectrometry. The ground level concentration (GLC) of pollutants from stationary sources is computed    using   dispersion model AERMOD, which are mathematical relations between the source strength and concentration   and involves parameters related transport and diffusion. Increases in GLC (Ground Level Concentration) are very minimal. Maximum Predicted Summer Season 24 hour Average increase in GLC is 2.05 μgm-3 and that of winter is 1.58 μgm-3. Although PAH represented a high proportion of risk as carcinogenic whose Cancer Risk (CR) values were calculated (0.03 CR value), and they were very less than the permissible limit (CR 0.25). However, the risk of exposure to mixtures is difficult to estimate, and risk assessment by whole mixture potency evaluations has been done in this study.

Implementation of Generic and Efficient Architecture of Elliptic Curve Cryptography over Various GF(p) for Higher Data Security

Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) has recognized much more attention over the last few years and has time-honored itself among the renowned public key cryptography schemes. The main feature of ECC is that shorter keys can be used as the best option for implementation of public key cryptography in resource-constrained (memory, power, and speed) devices like the Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor based applications, etc. The performance of hardware implementation for ECC is affected by basic design elements such as a coordinate system, modular arithmetic algorithms, implementation target, and underlying finite fields. This paper shows the generic structure of the ECC system implementation which allows the different types of designing parameters like elliptic curve, Galois prime finite field GF(p), and input type. The ECC system is analyzed with performance parameters such as required memory, elapsed time, and process complexity on the MATLAB platform. The simulations are carried out on the 8th generation Intel core i7 processor with the specifications of 8 GB RAM, 3.1 GHz, and 64-bit architecture. This analysis helps to design an efficient and high performance architecture of the ECC system on Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA).Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) has recognized much more attention over the last few years and has time-honored itself among the renowned public key cryptography schemes.
