Factors influencing infant basic immunization uptake at Bestari Community Health Center, Medan
Background: Immunization is one of the most effective public health interventions for preventing infectious diseases and reducing mortality rates. However, complete basic immunization coverage in Indonesia, particularly in North Sumatra, remains suboptimal. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between maternal characteristics (age, education, employment, knowledge, and attitudes) and the provision of complete basic immunization for infants at the Bestari Community Health Center in Medan.
Methods: The research employed an analytical survey with a cross-sectional approach involving 60 mothers visiting integrated health posts in November 2022. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test.
Results: Results indicated significant associations between maternal age (p = 0.002), education level (p = 0.003), employment status (p = 0.000), knowledge (p = 0.000), and attitudes (p = 0.000) with infant immunization completeness.
Conclusion: The study concludes that sociodemographic factors and maternal understanding play crucial roles in immunization coverage
The association between anxiety, daily behaviors, and insomnia among university students
Background: Insomnia is a common problem among university students and is often associated with psychological factors such as anxiety and modifiable daily behaviors. This study aimed to examine the relationships between anxiety levels, specific daily habits (including caffeine consumption, physical activity, and academic stress), and the occurrence of insomnia among students aged 20 to 25 years at Universitas Prima Indonesia.
Methods: An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted in May 2025. A total of 94 students participated as respondents. Data were collected using structured questionnaires, including the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A) and the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI). The chi-square test was applied to analyze the associations between variables.
Results: Most respondents were female (61.7%) with a mean age of 21.21 years. Descriptive analysis showed trends suggesting that higher anxiety and physical activity levels were associated with increased insomnia rates. However, statistical analysis revealed no significant relationship between anxiety and insomnia (p = 0.203) or between physical activity and insomnia (p = 0.190). In contrast, caffeine consumption showed a statistically significant association with insomnia severity (p = 0.006).
Conclusion: Although anxiety and physical activity were not significantly related to insomnia in this study, caffeine consumption was identified as a significant modifiable risk factor. These findings emphasize the need for targeted health education programs to improve sleep hygiene among students, particularly by addressing caffeine intake to enhance sleep quality
Factors Causing Pending Claims BPJS Health Inpatient Use Improving Claim Quality At Welas Asih Regional Hospital
BPJS Kesehatan claims are a crucial component of the continuity of hospital services, yet pending claims are still common. This study aims to identify the factors causing pending inpatient claims at Welas Asih Regional Hospital and understand the obstacles in the claims submission process. The main problems include incomplete supporting documents, mismatched diagnoses, and verification challenges from BPJS. The study used descriptive qualitative methods through interviews, observations, document reviews, and analysis of 521 pending claim files. The results indicate that the largest causes of pending claims stem from BPJS verification (57.39%) and coding (28.60%), while administrative issues account for only a small portion. Good internal coordination between units allows most claims to be resolved without escalation to BPJS. The study concluded that improving the completeness of medical records, coding training, understanding regulations, and reviewing multiple documents are effective strategies to reduce pending claims and increase the efficiency of the BPJS claims process at Welas Asih Regional Hospital
Analysis Of The Effect Of Care Class On BPJS Claim Values For Patients With The Same Diagnosis At Dustira Class II Hospital
The National Health Insurance (JKN) program managed by BPJS Kesehatan implements the Indonesia Case-Based Groups (INA-CBGs) prospective payment system. Although INA-CBGs rates are determined based on diagnosis, the treatment class factor has the potential to influence the amount of claims paid. This study aims to analyze the effect of treatment class on the value of INA-CBGs claims in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD, code J44.1) at Dustira Class II Hospital. This study used an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of all COPD patients treated at the Kenanga Ward in January 2025 (n=37), with a distribution of Class 1 (n=2), Class 2 (n=13), and Class 3 (n=22). Data analysis was performed using the Kruskal–Wallis test, followed by the Dunn–Bonferroni post-hoc test. The results showed that the highest median claim value was found in Class 1 (Rp 5,264,600), followed by Class 2 (Rp 4,611,500), and Class 3 (Rp 3,958,400). The Kruskal–Wallis test showed a significant difference (H=33.720; p<0.001). Post-hoc analysis showed a significant difference between Class 1 and Class 3 and between Class 2 and Class 3, while the difference between Class 1 and Class 2 was not significant. It was concluded that the treatment class significantly influenced the BPJS claim value in COPD patients. These findings have implications for the evaluation of INA-CBGs tariffs and the preparation for the implementation of the Standard Inpatient Class Policy (KRIS) in 2025

Nurses’ Communication in Providing Care for Children with Cancer: Literature Review
Cancer in children presents a major global health problem, impacting not only the physical condition of pediatric patients but also causing significant psychological and social challenges for both the children and their families. Effective communication between nurses, children, and families is essential to ensure quality care, support psychosocial adaptation, and foster active involvement in decision-making. The study design used literature review. This literature review was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and CINAHL (EBSCO) databases, focusing on articles published from 2014 to 2025. The inclusion criteria were English-language articles discussing nurse communication with children aged 0-18 diagnosed with cancer, with nurses as the main communicators, and full-text availability. The findings indicate that nurses assume multifaceted roles not only as providers of medical information, but also as emotional supporters, advocates, and key facilitators in multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Communication approaches identified include tailoring information to the child’s developmental stage and cultural context, validating emotions, and employing active listening, open-ended questioning, and reflection. However, nurses face considerable barriers such as limited time, insufficient communication training, unclear professional roles, emotional burden, and systemic challenges within healthcare settings. Therefore, there is a need to improve communication training, enhance institutional support, and develop policies that encourage multidisciplinary collaboration and a work environment that supports effective communication. These efforts are expected to strengthen the role of nurses in providing holistic, adaptive, and family-centered care in the pediatric oncology setting
The effect of acupuncture therapy on glycemic control in type 2 diabetes mellitus (Xiao Ke) patients with Kidney Yin Deficiency Syndrome
A metabolic disorder known as diabetes mellitus (DM) causes hyperglycemia, or abnormally high blood sugar levels, as a result of insulin resistance or insufficiency. This quantitative research was designed to find out how acupuncture treatment affects blood sugar levels in individuals with kidney yin deficiency syndrome and type 2 diabetes (Xiāo KĔ). Bekasi, West Java, was the site of the research, which lasted from March to June of 2025. A purposive sample strategy was used to select a total of 20 individuals, all of whom were 20 to 30 years old. Women made up a larger proportion of the individuals (65%) than males (35%), and the average age was 27 (the median). Employers made up 25% of the sample, while housewives accounted for 20%. The majority of participants were self-employed at 55%. The subjects had daily acupuncture treatments for a duration of six days. Prior to and during the intervention, blood sugar levels were monitored. A blood sugar level of 136.25 mg/dl was typical before the intervention, with a range of 128 to 142 mg/dl. The average dropped to 115.80 mg/dl after the intervention, with a range of 110–121 mg/dl. The average drop in blood sugar levels was 17.94%, or 24.45 mg/dl. In one study, 15% of participants had a reduction of 23 mg/dl. With a result greater than 0.05, the Shapiro-Wilk normalcy test confirmed that the data followed a normal distribution. A statistically significant difference was seen between sugar levels before and during medication, as shown by the paired sample t-test findings (sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05). Research in individuals with type 2 diabetes and kidney yin deficiency syndrome found that acupuncture treatment significantly reduced blood sugar levels
Analysis of Dominant Factors Affecting the Mental Health of Social Media Users
Sleep quality matters most for mental health among social media users—more than screen time, stress, or any demographic factor. We analyzed data from 477 social media users to identify which behavioral and psychosocial factors best predict mental well-being, as measured by a happiness index. Three factors showed significant associations: daily screen time, sleep quality, and stress levels. Respondents who spent more time on screens, slept poorly, and experienced high stress reported worse mental health. But sleep quality dominated. People with good sleep were 5.6 times more likely to report healthy mental wellbeing than those sleeping poorly (OR = 5.559; 95% CI: 2.841-10.878; p < 0.001), even after accounting for screen time and stress. Surprisingly, age, gender, physical activity, and platform choice showed no relationship with mental health. These findings challenge the assumption that simply reducing social media use improves wellbeing. Instead, public health interventions should prioritize sleep hygiene alongside, not instead of, managing screen time and stress. In our increasingly digital world, how we rest may matter more than how much we scrol
Bedside Handover as an Effort to Improve Nurses' Communication in Providing
This study was conducted solely on nurses, and to achieve optimal results, all PPA should have been involved. The bedside handover method is a standard nursing care handover system in hospitals designed to foster quality interaction and communication between patients and nurses, resulting in effective and efficient nursing care. This study examined the effectiveness of bedside handovers in enhancing nurse communication using a nonequivalent control group pretest–posttest design. A total of 64 nurses were included through total population sampling. The intervention group implemented bedside handovers, whereas the control group conducted handovers at the nurse station. Nurse communication levels were assessed using a questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. Changes in communication levels within each group were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The findings revealed a significant improvement in nurse communication in the intervention group (p = 0.000), while no significant change was observed in the control group (p = 0.082). Conclusion: Bedside handovers are effective in improving nurse communication in providing nursing care. This research has an impact on patient satisfaction, nurses and reduces the number of adverse events
Analysis of Determinants of Hemodialysis Patient Satisfaction in Nursing Services: A Literature Review
Patient satisfaction is an essential indicator of the quality of nursing care, particularly among individuals undergoing hemodialysis treatment. This literature review aims to identify the determinants influencing hemodialysis patients' satisfaction with nursing services. Literature searches were conducted through PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate for articles published between 2021 and 2025. From a total of 2,967 articles initially identified, nine studies met the inclusion criteria. The analysis revealed two primary factors significantly associated with patient satisfaction: nurses' caring behavior and therapeutic communication. Caring behavior includes empathy, attention, support, and the ability of nurses to meet both physical and emotional patient needs, while therapeutic communication refers to professional interactions that build trust and enhance patient understanding of the care process. Both factors were found to improve patients' perceptions of service quality and promote adherence to hemodialysis treatment. This review highlights the importance of strengthening caring competencies and therapeutic communication skills as key strategies to enhance the quality of nursing care in hemodialysis units
