    EFFECT OF NATURAL FEED MULBERRY AND GLIRICIDIA AGAINST PERCENTAGE NON CARCASS AND CARCASSES MALES GOAT ETTAWA CROSSBREED

    This study aims to assess the effect of natural feed mulberry and glicidia against carcass percentage and non-carcass male goats Ettawa crossbreed. This study was conducted for 4 months starting in January to April 2016, located in the Village RanomentaaToari District of Kolaka. This study used 12 male goats Crossbreed Ettawa age ranges of 4-6 months that were placed in 12 individual cages. The materials used are natural feed (Gliricidia leaves and mulberry leaves), water, salt, and medicine. The equipment used is the individual cages, where food, drinking, machetes, scales, basins, cutter, knife, plastic bags, rope and a cutting table. The design used in this study is completely randomized design (CRD) 3 treatments with 4 replications. Treatment 1 (T1) (100% mulberry leaf), T2 (50% of mulberry leaves, 50% Gliricidia leaves) and T3 (100% Gliricidia leaves). The parameters were observed in the study were: weight gain (WG), slaughter weight, carcass weight and percentage, and the percentage of non-carcass weight. The results showed that the average W. Gited Nations T3 (26.98 g/day) was significantly different (P0.05) with T2 (22.83 g/day) and T1 (22.42 g/day), but T2 and T1 are not significantly different. In line with the average slaughter weight is from highest to lowest T3 (13.29 kg), T2 (11.21 Kg) and T1 (10.37 Kg). Followed by the average carcass weight were significant (P0.05) as a result of treatment. The average carcass weight T1 (4.17 Kg), T2 (4.24 Kg) and T3 ((5.38 kg). Whereas in the average carcass percentage effect is not significant (P0.05) as a result of treatment with a range of 38.43 -39.43%. Similarly, the weight of non Kakas and non carcass percentage of the average range of 50.73 to 55.09%.     USING ACTION SONG TO IMPROVE THE ABILITY IN USING PUNCTUATION AMONG YEAR THREE PUPILS

    The purpose of this research was to investigate the use of action song to improve the usage of punctuation among Year 3 pupils in a primary school in Johor. The whole class of eighteen pupils were selected as the target group. The teaching strategy comprised of the action song and the signs of punctuation marks such as full stop and comma. This study adopts a classroom action research. Tests, teacher’s reflective journal and interview were used to gather the data for the study. The findings showed improvement when comparing the pupils’ results in the tests before and after the implementation of action songs they were able to use the punctuations of full stop and comma correctly in the sentences. The findings also showed that the pupils were motivated to learn English and the strategy used improved the teacher’s teaching practice. A few suggestions were given to improve the strategy for the next cycle of action research

    This study aimed to test the level of dry matter and organic matter mulberry natural food and Gliricidia at Ettawa goat crossbreed (PE) males. This research was conducted in March and April 2016 in the village Ranomentaa Toari District of Kolaka. The material used is 12 PE male goats aged 4-6 months with a body weight of 10.44 ± 1.13 kg. Research compiled by complete randomized design (CRD) 3 treatments and 4 replications, P1 (100% mulberry), P2 (50% and 50% mulberry Gliricidia), P3 (100% Gliricidia). The parameters observed were dry matter intake (DMI), organic matter intake (OMI), dry matter digestibility (DMD) and organic matter digestibility (OMD). The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA with F test (P 0.01 and P 0.05), when there is a continued effect with least significant difference test (BNT). Dry matter consumption and OMI highly significant (P 0.01), while DMD and OMD not significant (P 0.05) as a result of treatment. DMI highest average at P3 (295.41 grams), in line with the highest OMI on P3 (271.21 grams). While the percentage DMD and OMD each ranging between 39.82 to 41.23% and from 40.55 to 43.87%. The absence of the effect of treatment on DMD and OMD caused by the degradation rate of the different natural feed caused by the content of crude fiber (CF) and lignin as well as anti-nutritive substances in the forage.     FEEDING EFFECT OF SOYBEAN MEAL TANNINS PROTECTED AGAINST NITROGEN BALANCE OF THIN TAILED SHEEP

    The study was aimed to determine the effect of granting Soybean meal protection against nitrogen balance of thin tailed sheep (male). The experimental animals were 16 thin tailed sheeps (males) aged 8 months old  with average body weight of 11.81 ± 1.65 kg. The research was assigned in completely randomized design (CRD) 4 treatments and 4 replicates T0 (complete feed + soybean meal without tannins), T1 (complete feed + protected soybean meal 0.5% tannins), T2 (complete feed + protected soybean meal 1% tannin), and T3 (complete feed + protected soybean meal 1.5% tannins). The parameters observed dry matter intake (DMI), DMI /% BB, DMI / BB0.75, nitrogen intake (NI), N-Faecal, N-Urine, N-Digested and N-Retention. Data were variance analyzed  by F test (P0.05), followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that DMI, DMI /% BB, DMI / BB0.75, nitrogen intake (NI), N-Faecal and N-Digested no effect (P0,05) of treatment. N-Retention Lowest in T2 (9,87 g/day) while  T0 (11,76 g/day), T1 (11,71 g/day), T3(11,86 g/day) no significant (P0,05), inversely with N-Urine decreased in T2 (3,09 g/day) dan T0 (2,04g/day), T1 (2,23 g/day) dan T3 (1,95 g/day) no significant (P0,05) as a result of treatment. Based on the results of this study concluded that the use of various mangrove leaf tannin levels up to 1.5%  to protect soybean meal no effect on consumption, N-Faecal, and N-digested but protection cake with tannin 1% decrease N-retention and increase the excretion of N-Urine

    EFFECTIVENESS OF BIO-INVIGORATION TECHNIQUE AGAINST VIABILITY AND VIGOR OF SOME COCOA SEED SOURCE

    The research was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of bio-invigoration treatment and seed sources on seed viability and vigor. The experiment was conducted in Agronomy Laboratory Unit of Agriculture Faculty of Haluoleo University, from January to May 2013. Laboratory research was arranged in split plot completely design.  The main factor was variety which consisted of 3 varieties i.e. Hybrid  (V1), Sulawesi 1 (V2) and Sulawesi 2 (V3). The sub plot was seed bio-osmoconditioning with rhizobacteria treatments which consisted of 6 treatments, namely: without seed bio-osmoconditioning (B0), seed bio-osmoconditioning with Bacillus sp. CKD061 (B1), seed bio-osmoconditioning with P. fluorescens PG01 (B2), seed bio-osmoconditioning with S. liquefaciens SG01 (B3), seed bio-osmoconditioning with Trichoderma sp. (B4), and seed osmoconditioning with KNO3 (B5). Every treatment was replicated 3 times. Therefore, overall there were 54 experimental units. Data obtained were analized using analysis of variance and followed with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result of experiment in the Laboratory showed that Bacillus sp. CKD061 and Trichoderma sp. were efective in improving viability and vigor of all seed sources of cocoa seed used. In all seed sources used (Hybrid, Sulawesi 1, and Sulawesi 2), these treatment were effective in increasing germination power, homogenous growth, index vigor, and growth compared with untreated treatment.     The objective of this research was to improve the students’ vocabulary mastery through hypnoteaching. It was a mixed research with action research method in SMAN 5 Kendari. The research data were taken in the first semester of SMAN 5 Kendari with 28 students and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The data were collected through observation and vocabulary test. The data analysis and interpretation indicated that there is an improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery. Quantitatively, it was found that the students’ vocabulary mastery increased significantly from the first until second cycles. Therefore, it concluded that the students’ vocabulary mastery can be improved by using hypnoteaching. The finding leads to the recommendation for the teachers to use hypnoteaching as an alternative technique in teaching vocabulary. It also recommended to other researchers to continue research

    This study aimed to determine the effect of diluent in maintaining the quality of bull sperm during freezing and physiological processes of bull sperm that occur during freezing. This research was conducted by observing samples of frozen bull sperm that uses diluents, as well as through the assessment of data research with assessment parameters such as macroscopic and microscopic assessment of cattle semen. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The results of this study indicate that the ratings fresh semen is done in two ways, namely macroscopically and microscopically. Grossly obtained volume of average ejaculate of 6 ml with a beige color and acidity levels on average 5.8. The concentration used is 'medium' which is a category of consistency and decent for further processing until the stage of freezing to rethawing. Microscopic assessment that includes an average frequency of motility in the fourth shelter is 70% with 3+ mass motility, percentage of live of fresh semen was obtained in this study was 80%. This value is the percentage of normal life. Based on these results it was concluded that the addition of diluents can reduce the rate of loss of quality (motility and percentage of survival) of bull sperm during the stages of preservation.     This study was designed to improve the Students’ Ability in Reading through Speed Reading at the first year of SMKN 1 Watunohu.   The writer formulated a study question “How can speed reading developing the students’ ability in reading at the second year of first year of SMKN 1 Watunohu?†In addition, the objective of the study was generally aimed to improve the students’ reading ability through speed reading at the first year of SMKN 1 Watunohu.The design of this study was collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR). It means that when doing the study, the writer collaborated with the English teacher of first year of SMKN 1 Watunohu. The subject of this study was the first year of SMKN 1 Watunohu in academic year of 2014/2015. This study was conducted in two cycles.The development of students’ ability in reading at the first year of SMKN1 Watunohu supported by some evidences. First, it could be seen from the improvement of the average students’ value which showed from preliminary study the students only reached average 43.56 or only 32% or 6 from 26 students got the score greater than or equal to 72. Second, the average of the students’ value was58.74 in the first cycle where only 44% or 8 from 26 students got the score greater than or equal to 72.Meanwhile in the second cycle, the average value of the students’ reading ability through speed reading became 87.42, there were 88.00% or 24 from 26 students got the greater than or equal to 72. Third, the students were actively involved in the teaching and learning process. It can be seen from the result of analysis of observation sheet.  So it can be concluded that speed reading can improve the students’ reading ability at the first year of SMKN 1 Watunoh

    The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the need of basing activities, tasks and skill learning in the English language classroom on not just one approach, model or method in order to create a whole diverse learning environment.  This method of teaching and creating engaging English language activities is based on the eclectic approach discussed by Kumar (2013) who states how this method allows the students to have less stress while learning, recognize very clear learning points, and complete multiple tasks while participating in a high interactive class with energetic learning experiences and quick necessary results. It will specifically look at how the use of various approaches, theories and models used in the English language classroom in Ecuador can create an environment that intrinsically allows the learner to be more comfortable, learn faster, and gain more out of a class in a shorter amount of time. This is fundamental because the authors personal experience in high school and university level shows classes tend to have many students (30 or more) and curriculum is created with the intent for students to learn large amounts of information, but is normally not allotted enough vital classroom face to face hours. Using the eclectic approach allows the teacher to better cover the necessary skills, tasks and activities for students to be able to learn, understand and ultimately gain the knowledge quintessential to becoming competent in speaking, reading, writing and listening in English in a large classroom setting in a shorter amount of time

    Analysis of the Value Added of Milled Hybrid Corn Processing (Zea mays L.) Bisi2 on Household Industrial Farming in the village Wowoli Toari District of Kolaka. This study aims to determine the value-added of milled Hybrids corn processing (Zea mays L.)  Industry Bisi2 on farm households in the village Wowoli Toari District of Kolaka. This study used a descriptive method of analysis is a research method that focuses on solving the problems that exist in the present. the data initially collected in the analysis, collated and then described so as to provide answers about the phenomena - phenomena that occur. Further explaining is about the relationship, testing hypotheses and draw conclusions from the analysis that was obtained. Based on the research that has been done on an industrial farm household processing of corn flour in the village Wowoli District of Toari Kolaka of two industry can be concluded that industry farm household processing of corn flour gives the profit earned per 3 times the production process for one month is Rp 3.198 million. Employers’ added value-processing industry of farm households grits Rp 1,100 / kg of raw material used. This added value is the profit earned by the farm household Industrial processing of corn flour in 1 kilogram of raw materials usage. Farm household industrial processing corn into grits in the village Wowoli provides a distinct advantage for corn farmers, where farmers can sell corn to corn processing industry with a short distance to the industry processing industry of farm households grits with higher prices
