    No full text
This study aims to analyze the factors causing flooding in Peoho Village, Watubangga District, Kolaka Regency. The type of research used in this study is descriptive research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. The data used in this study consists of rainfall data, soil type, slope gradient, land use, drainage system, flood control buildings and river conditions in Peoho Village. The data were collected using various methods including observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis according to Creswell. While quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of the study, the factors causing flooding in Peoho Village, Watubangga District, Kolaka Regency were caused by various factors, including moderate to high rainfall intensity. Another factor that causes flooding is the type of chromic latosol soil. This type of soil has a clay texture and small pores so that it quickly becomes saturated and water is difficult to absorb into the soil. The slope of the slope in Peoho Village which is dominated by flat and gentle slopes also contributes to the occurrence of flooding. Land use factors dominated by plantation land and a drainage system that does not function properly are also factors that cause flooding in Peoho Village

AbstractThe analysis of water quality in the post-sand mining swamp of Kranjingan indicates that the aquatic environment is in relatively good condition, with a neutral to slightly alkaline pH, stable temperature, and total dissolved solids (TDS) within acceptable limits. Although slight variations were observed between stations, particularly at Station 4, which recorded the highest TDS value, the overall water conditions still support the sustainability of the aquatic ecosystem and allow for various sustainable utilizations. The study's objective is to analyze the water quality in the post-sand mining swamp of Kranjingan and evaluate the sustainability of the aquatic ecosystem in the area. This research also aims to understand the composition and abundance of phytoplankton to determine the trophic status of the ecosystem. The study results show that the composition and abundance of phytoplankton in the post-mining swamp exhibit oligotrophic characteristics, with a dominance of the Cyanophyta phylum, particularly Microcystis. The highest phytoplankton diversity was found at Station 2, while Station 4 demonstrated relatively stable abundance. These findings provide essential insights into the management and utilization of post-sand mining swamps for both ecological and economic purposes. Keywords: phytoplankton, water quality, post-sand mining swamp, Kranjingan, Jembe

Organic fertiliser has been widely used by farmers in Jember Regency, one of which is the type of liquid organic fertiliser (LOF) of local microorganisms. Research related to innovation adoption mostly focuses on innovation attributes. 4 other variables affect the speed of innovation adoption besides innovation attributes, namely: (1) type of innovation decision (choice, collective, or authoritarian), (2) communication channels (interpersonal or mass media), (3) social system (norms, degree of network relatedness), and (4) change agent (level of promotion effort). The purpose of this study was to analyse the elements in LOF innovation communication in Jember Regency with descriptive statistics, including: (1) relative profit level; (2) type of innovation decision; (3) communication channels; (4) social system; and (5) change agent. The research is a type of survey research with a quantitative method approach. The data analysis method in this study includes the following stages: (1) determination of scale values, and (2) descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the study showed that the elements in LOF innovation communication in Jember Regency generally show high achievements, so it can be concluded that LOF innovation has received support from farmers in Jember Regency. The elements of communication channels, social systems, and agents of change have achieved very high achievements, while the relative advantages element is already high, and the innovation decision type element is still moderate. Some things that need to be improved are decision-making at the farmer group level to be more democratic and prioritise deliberation.
