An analysis of symbols in spanish civil war as seen in For whom the bell tolls by ernest hemingway
No full textThe problem in this thesis is the symbols contained in the civil war in Spain. This fight has taken many casualties, death is common, but the soldiers continue to struggle and sacrifice for the hope of victory. The three themes of the struggle about death, sacrifice, and hope are reflected in the symbols of the war.
In this writing, literature research is taken as a method of data collection. As for data analysis methods, the authors perform systematic procedures with the understanding of novels, symbols and symbol analysis, as well as semiotic theory. Data collection techniques use documentation techniques in finding data relevant to the subject. In data analysis techniques, the authors use structural techniques by analyzing novels based on the elements that shape them.
The results of the research in this thesis are: 1) dynamite is a symbol of death, it can be connected with dynamite properties that can destroy anything around him, here are three Robert who aims to destroy the enemy by installing dynamite, 2) dynamite trigger is a symbol of sacrifice from the The main character, without any trigger, dynamite will not be explosive, Robert in this novel self-criticism to prevent enemies from being able to chase his fleeing friends, 3) the bridge as a symbol of hope, this is connected with the nature of the bridge connecting the two Side, Robert at the end of the story gives hope to his friends to stay safe from the battlefield.
 
Address Forms In Sijunjung Society
No full textSijunjung is a city in Sijunjung regency. Sijunjung is located in Sijunjung regency about 99 km from Padang City. Sijunjung is a regency of West Sumatera. In society life, language is very important because language is used to communicate. Especially in address form. They always vary their forms in different situation and different addresses even though the person being addressed remains the same. The importance of address forms cannot be overestimated in the use of language in any human society. They serve as an indicator of the social relationship between a speaker and a listener in terms of status and social distance. Sijunjung forms of address literature still limited except for their uses in literary genres. Otherwise, an exploration of various forms of address in Sijunjung may help in understanding the culture of the people and also in knowing the reason why the people behave the way they do in an encounter with others in different situations. The address terms examined in this paper are limited to names only. Pronouns and other forms were not included. The population of this research that the writer takes from questionnaire to native speakers of Sijunjung society. For example, the writer takes 20 informants who can give information about the term of address form of Sijunjung. The writer used observation method and questionnaire technique, then the writer takes the answer sheets of Sijunjung people. There are two methods in representating the result of data analysis, formal and informal method. The informal method is written in the form of verbal statements, meanwhile the formal method is written by symbol and sign. While, informal method by using words based on the finding. In this analysis the writer uses both of method.

Research conducted at SDN 15 Lansano District of Sutera. Time research was conducted from January to March 201 7. The form of this research is Classroom Action Research (Classroom Action Research). The action consists of two actions in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages namely Planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The class is fifth grade students studied Elementary School # 15 Lansano District of Sutera with the number of students 29 orang.Setelah implemented the first cycle that teachers implement instructional practices directly obtained results In cycle 1 the average grade value increased to 75. In cycle 2 the average value was 86. So from the initial to the final condition there was an increase in learning outcome from the mean of 67 to 86. From the results of the action research conducted in two cycles, obtained significant improvement, so that it can be concluded that the discussion of methods to improve learning outcomes IPS is based on the struggle of the hero in the Netherlands and the Japanese invaders for fifth grade students of SD Negeri 15 Lansano Subdistrict Sutera. For that teachers are expected to always provide guidance to students to remain diligent learning, through reading, discussing to always practice working on student worksheets, so it can achieve the desired goal

The problems to be examined in this study are: a How improve mathematics learning outcomes by using the game in class IX SMP Negeri 2 P Ainan academic year 2014-2015? b. The steps made in improving learning outcomes math class IX students?
The results showed that study using the game in class IX SMPN 2 Painan, on learning of Mathematics, encourage student learning activities to teach well so spur students to obtain satisfactory academic achievement. Of the 10 observed activities, 7 of them are classified into medium category and 3 of them fall into the less category.
The three activities gradually increase in each cycle, the three activities are preparing places, materials and tools by 25.93%, expressing the idea of 11.11% and reading the rules of the game and books of 29.63% and each Has increased, become Preparing places, materials and tools of 55.56%, revealed the idea of 66.67% and for the activity of reading the rules of the game and books increased by 74.04%.
Achievement learn student mathematics obtained grade average value in cycle I equal to 69,62 increase become 73,51 in cycle II. The percentage of students who reached the completeness standard also increased in the first cycle of 88.88% (Category Good), increased to 100% (Category Special Category) in cycle II. Thus the game method can improve the activity and achievement of learning mathematics students SMPN 2 Painan Lesson Year 2014/2015.

This type of research is classroom action research (class action research), this study used aqualitative approach. Learning to use that to make use of audio-visual media n. Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) is prepared by following the steps using audio-visual media to create a fun learning activity that can improve learning outcomes in grade V IPA. While the students were taken as the subject of research are all fifth grade students of SD Negeri 25 Small Hill District IV Jurai. The research data was obtained using tests and observation. The results of the physical LUs any increase student learning, the test cycle I average student learning outcomes is 72.15 increased in the second cycle to 82, 14. Additionally the activity of teacher and student activity also increased in each of a meeting n monitored through observation sheets by using audio-visual media to improve science learning outcomes in grade elementary school consisting of teachers and students aspects. In this study, the authors found a 1). bad relationship between the minority and the majority in the United States really happened. 2). Minorities such as blacks get white prejudices. This disharmony of relationships has some impact on the minority itself, the impact of which can be seen from how the quality of life of these minorities. 3). Another consequence of the harmony of the relationship is the emergence of awareness and motivation in the minority to be equal to the majority.

This research is a type of research belonging to linguistic field. The research also used qualitative descriptive research method. This research method is a method that refers to the form of words taken from the data source by explaining the intent of data intention. In addition, this research also uses research libraries (library research). This literature research only discusses existing data data by processing and developing data by using morphological theory that supports the research.
The first step used by the author is to collect data taken from the source, after that the data are all collected then the writers classify the data in several groups. Since in this study only discusses the three topics of the problem, the first is to classify all types of derivation and morpheme inflection found in the Jakarta Post newspaper, the second is the function of each morpheme, and the last is the rule that belongs to the derivation and morpheme inflection The.
Based on this study, the writers found the uniqueness caused by derivation and morpheme inflection when combined with other morphemes. If the morpheme derivation is compared with the free morpheme it will have a different meaning and sometimes even change the word class. No full textThe problem in this thesis is the racial discrimination from white community against black community that was their former slave in the past, the author analyzes three poems by Zephaniah based on the issue of racial discrimination. Poem represents the poet’s feeling about the social phenomena that surrounds him, and these poems are also the form of protest against racial discrimination.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the treatment from white communities against black communities that consider that their race to be superior compared to their former slaves. The manifestation of racial discrimination can be seen from the attitude of prejudice, insulting words and remarks, and the acts of oppression on black community. In this writing, library research is taken as the method of data collection. As for the method of data analysis, the author performs systematic procedures by understanding of the poem, the theme of racial discrimination, and also the theory of psychology. Data collection technique uses qualitative techniques in finding the data in form of explanation on the phenomenon that occurs. In the technique of data analysis, the writer uses genetic structuralism techniques by analyzing the oppression of black society in Zephaniah’s poems through psychology theory.
The findings in this thesis are: 1) in the poem of The Race Industry, white society always oppresses black society so that they have to work hard but do not get the result that they deserves, 2) in poem We Refugee, white society always have prejudice against black people because of their skin color and not because of their actions, 3) in Dis Poetry, white community always says provocative words and remarks to offend black people
