Graph Based Cooperative Forwarding in Information Centric Vehicular Networks
The rise of data intensive applications reveal the limitations of IP-based networking, particularly in dynamic vehicular environment. Transitioning to Information Centric Network (ICN) addresses these limitations by focusing on content retrieval from any suitable location rather than completely relying on content server or host-to-host communication. The content based communication uses an interest packet to seek named data. The interest packets are forwarded through the network to locate and retrieve content. In general the ICN uses Forwarding Information Base (FIB) tables for efficient forwarding of interest. However, in wireless environment like Vehicular Network (V-Net), use of FIB is expensive due to high bandwidth demand for maintenance. Hence, interest forwarding approach without FIB is much popular. In this paper, an interest forwarding technique for Information Centric Vehicular Networks (ICVNs) is proposed without the use of FIB. The prime objective of the algorithm is to reduce content retrieval time and optimize network overhead and throughput. For that purpose the network is modeled as a graph and partitioned into groups where each group is managed by a group leader. The group members cooperate with leader and share local information. The leaders, on the other hand cooperate with other group leaders and share information in the global level. Interest packets are forwarded by leaders on behalf of a group there by accelerating the content retrieval process. The proposed algorithm is named as GCF (Graph based Cooperative Forwarding) and is simulated in ndnSim-2.0. The performance of GCF is compared with the other two contemporary protocols, and observation shows better performance of the new approach, specifically in a densely populated scenario, compared to other benchmark algorithms. Various parameters used in the comparison are end-to-end latency, interest loss rate, network overhead, throughput, and server hit ratio. Quantitatively, the proposed protocol shows nearly 10% improvement in latency, 40% improvement in interest packet loss, and 60% improvement in network overhead.Shashikant P. Investigation into Ultrasonic Oscillation-Assisted Nickel Electroplating onto a Diamond Surface

Further inquiries can be directed to the corresponding author.At present, there are some challenging issues for diamond electroplating devices, such as poor particle–cathode contact uniformity, low conductivity, inefficient deposition, and complex disassembly/cleaning process of the device. To overcome these issues, an ultrasonic oscillation-assisted nickel electroplating device is innovatively designed and presented in this paper. The device features: (1) innovative architecture enabling rapid disassembly; (2) ultrasonic enhancement of diamond particle mobility (frequency × amplitude); (3) optimized electrical contact interfaces. In this paper, the effects of electroplating current, output power of ultrasonic oscillator and diamond particle size on nickel electroplating onto diamond surface are further studied particularly by ultrasonic assisted electroplating. The experimental results show that the ultrasonic oscillation assisted electroplating greatly improves the uniformity of the coating on the diamond surface and effectively prevents the adhesion between diamond particles. While the process parameters are electroplating current of 3 A, output power of ultrasonic oscillator 900 W, diamond particle size of 120/140, the weight-gain rate is 20.6%, the nickel content of the coating reaches 81.95%, and the coating is excellent uniformed without agglomeration. A Stress Analysis of a Thin-Walled, Open-Section, Beam Structure: The Combined Flexural Shear, Bending and Torsion of a Cantilever Channel Beam

Further data available on request.Channels with three standard symmetrical sections and one asymmetric section are mounted as cantilever beams with the web oriented vertically. A classical solution to the analysis of stress in each thin-walled cantilever channel is provided using the principle of wall shear flow superposition. The latter is coupled with a further superposition between axial stress arising from bending and from the constraint placed on free warping imposed at the fixed end. Closed solutions for design are tabulated for the net shear stress and the net axial stress at points around any section within the length. Stress distributions thus derived serve as a benchmark structure for alternative numerical solutions and for experimental investigations. The conversion of the transverse free end-loading applied to a thin-walled cantilever channel into the shear and axial stress that it must bear is outlined. It is shown that the point at which this loading is applied within the cross-section is crucial to this stress conversion. When a single force is applied to an arbitrary point at the free-end section, three loading effects arise generally: bending, flexural shear and torsion. The analysis of each effect requires that this force’s components are resolved to align with the section’s principal axes. These forces are then considered in reference to its centroid and to its shear centre. This shows that axial stress arises directly from bending and from the constraint imposed on free warping at the fixed end. Shear stress arises from flexural shear and also from torsion with a load offset from the shear centre. When the three actions are combined, the net stresses of each action are considered within the ability of the structure to resist collapse from plasticity and buckling. The novelty herein refers to the presentation of the shear flow calculations within a thin wall as they arise from an end load offset from the shear centre. It is shown how the principle of superposition can be applied to individual shear flow and axial stress distributions arising from flexural bending, shear and torsion. Therein, the new concept of a ‘trans-moment’ appears from the transfer in moments from their axes through centroid G to parallel axes through shear centre E. The trans-moment complements the static equilibrium condition, in which a shift in transverse force components from G to E is accompanied by torsion and bending about the flexural axis through E.This research received no external funding

The analysis focuses on the final state with three charged leptons, ℓ±ℓ+ℓ−, where ℓ = or , accompanied by an additional photon. The observed (expected) significance of the signal is 5.4 (3.8) standard deviations. The cross section is measured in a fiducial region, where events with an ℓ originating from a tau lepton decay are excluded, to be 5.48 ± 1.11 fb, which is compatible with the prediction of 3.69 ± 0.24 fb at next-to-leading order in quantum chromodynamics. Exclusion limits are set on anomalous quartic gauge couplings and on the production cross sections of massive axionlike particles.SCOAP³
Search for the Rare Decay ° → ⁺⁻ in Proton-Proton Collisions at √ = 13.6 TeV

This is the first analysis to use a newly developed inclusive dimuon trigger, expanding the scope of the CMS flavor physics program. The search uses ° mesons obtained from *⁺ → °⁺ decays. No significant excess is observed. A limit on the branching fraction of ℬ(° → ⁺⁻) < 2.4 × 10⁻⁹ at 95% confidence level is set. This is the most stringent upper limit set on any flavor changing neutral current decay in the charm sector.SCOAP³
Search for high-mass resonances in a final state comprising a gluon and two hadronically decaying W bosons in proton-proton collisions at √ = 13 TeV

A Kaluza-Klein gluon, gKK, decaying in cascade via a scalar radion R, gKK → gR → gWW, is considered. The final state studied consists of three large-radius jets, two of which contain the products of hadronically decaying W bosons, and the third one the hadronization products of the gluon. The analysis is performed using proton-proton collision data at √ = 13 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC during 2016–2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb⁻¹. The masses of the gKK and R candidates are reconstructed as trijet and dijet masses, respectively. These are used for event categorization and signal extraction. No excess of data events above the standard model background expectation is observed. Upper limits are set on the product of the gKK production cross section and its branching fraction via a radion R to gWW. This is the first analysis examining the resonant WW+jet signature and setting limits on the two resonance masses in an extended warped extra-dimensional model.SCOAP³
Search for top squarks in final states with many light-flavor jets and 0, 1, or 2 charged leptons in proton-proton collisions at √ = 13 TeV

The results of a search for top squarks decaying to two top quarks and six additional light-flavor quarks or gluons are reported. The search employs a novel machine learning method for background estimation from control samples in data using decorrelated discriminators. The search is performed using events with 0, 1, or 2 electrons or muons in conjunction with at least six jets. No requirement is placed on the magnitude of the missing transverse momentum. The result is based on a sample of proton-proton collisions at √s = 13 TeV corresponding to 138 fb⁻¹ of integrated luminosity collected with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2016–2018. With no statistically significant excess of events observed beyond the expected contributions from the standard model, the data are used to determine upper limits on the top squark pair production cross section in the frameworks of RPV and stealth SUSY. Models with top squark masses less than 700 (930) GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level for RPV (stealth) SUSY scenarios.SCOAP³
Erasing Communities: an urban ethnography of Denmark’s public housing policies
This paper examines Denmark’s 2018 parallel society policies – popularly known as the ghetto policies – as an expression of structural Islamophobia enforced through local governance. It analyses these policies in terms of their ethnonationalist roots, as well as their framing of Muslim communities as threats to Danish social cohesion. These policies discriminate by design, as a mechanism to manage and surveil Muslim communities in public housing estates. The ghetto policies have support across the right/left political divide. This paper argues that when it comes to the Danish ethnonationalist policies, there is in fact ideological unity across the political spectrum in the vilification of Muslim community. Indeed, urban policies directed at Denmark’s Muslim population reflect a coloniality enacted through public housing policies, aiming to banish and erase Muslim communities from their neighbourhoods. Ultimately, I contend that Denmark’s housing policies serve as tools of social control, used to manage its Muslim population, erase their spatial history, and dismantle community life within housing estates. Differential roles of cyclin–CDK1 complexes in cell migration and invasion
Data and resource availability: All relevant data can be found within the article and its supplementary information available online at: https://journals.biologists.com/jcs/article/138/13/jcs263697/368562/Differential-roles-of-cyclin-CDK1-complexes-in#supplementary-data .We have previously described a central role for CDK1 at the nexus of adhesion signalling and cell cycle progression, demonstrating that CDK1 has a non-canonical role in regulating integrin adhesion complexes and in the migration of cancer cells in 3D interstitial matrix. Here, we show that the CDK1-binding partners cyclinB1 and cyclinA2 also have roles in cell migration and invasion in both cancer and non-transformed cells. CyclinB1 plays a key role in RhoA activation to promote rear retraction in a membrane tension-dependent manner, whereas cyclinA2 has a general role in promoting motility. Knockdown of either cyclin significantly perturbs migration with contrasting phenotypes, whereas knockdown of both together has an additive effect, which arrests both migration and division. Our findings therefore describe how cyclin–CDK1 complexes orchestrate migration as well as division of cells, and that cyclinA2–CDK1 and cyclinB1–CDK1 complexes play distinct roles in motility.This work is supported by an Academy of Medical Sciences Springboard Award and an Action Bladder Cancer IOPP grant to M.C.J.
