Tilt Table and Multisensory Stimulation for Disorders of Consciousness: An Early Rehabilitation Approach for Ventilated Patients in Acute Care
An early rehabilitation protocol for mechanically ventilated Disorders of Consciousness (DoC) patients, utilizing tilt table and multisensory stimulation, aimed to bridge a critical care gap. This intervention successfully weaned 9 out of 14 patients off ventilators, improved consciousness in 77%, and facilitated rehabilitation facility discharge for 89%, proving a feasible and effective approach for cognitive and respiratory outcomes
