The Importance of Strong Agrarian Law: Preventing and Overcoming Land Mafia in Indonesia
Get PDFTo this day, land mafias are still rampant and disturbing the public. The land mafia is so detrimental to its victims that it must be eradicated. In this research, we will discuss the importance of strong agrarian law in preventing and dealing with land mafia perpetrators. This research is qualitative research, following the research object. In this article, this type of research is included in the library research category. For this reason, in library research, book collection must be gradual, because it would be difficult if this were not done using data from various references, both primary and secondary. The results of this research can be concluded that agrarian law in Indonesia is good at regulating land and policies regarding land have been created with the aim of eradicating land mafia perpetrators, but in its implementation there are still many land mafia activities, due to lack of supervision of the regulations and policies in place has been made
Issuing Licence Procedure in Fixing Fisherman Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) (A Case Study in East Aceh District)
Get PDFThe Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia issued Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 26/Permen-KP/2014 in the context of controlling large FADs owned by entrepreneurs installed in the middle of the sea. This control needs to be carried out because these FADs are seen to be detrimental to traditional fishermen. Due to the existence of large FADs, large fish do not want to swim to the seashore, so traditional fishermen have to go further out to sea to catch bigger fish. Therefore, according to Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation No. 26/Permen-KP/2014, fishing by fishermen using FAD fishing gear must have a permit based on KKP Ministerial Regulation Number 18 of 2021 regarding the placement of FADs. However, fishermen are still found who do not have permission (illegally) to place FADs, then these FADs have an impact on the environment and their ownership is unclear

Forest products also have high economic value so that many people benefit from forest products. However, how to use it is done in an unlawful way or in a criminal way. Analysis of Factors that Influence the Success of Home Visit Services for Students Who Have Learning Difficulties at Madrasah Aliyah Kulon Progo
Get PDFThis research aims to analyze the factors that influence the success of home visit services for students with learning difficulties at Madrasah Aliyah Kulon Progo. This research uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive type. The subjects of this research included Guidance & Counseling teachers, the madrasa principal, parents, students, and homeroom teachers. The data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validity test used source triangulation and technical triangulation. The data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that internal factors had identified problems and sources of issues, had pedagogical competence to distinguish student characteristics, professionally used educational learning principles, personally displayed student potential, were socially non-discriminatory, and carried out home visits according to service stages. Meanwhile, external policy factors supported home visits and implemented intensive cooperation, did not provide vehicle inventory from the madrasa, there was parental participation, and the environment was safe. They openly expressed and detected problems by seeing student activity
Navigating the Roadblocks: The United States Struggled with Implementing R2P in the Syrian Conflict Under Donald Trump’s Administration
Get PDFThe paper examines the doctrine of Responsibility to Protect as a conflict resolution option for the Syrian conflict and the challenges the United States faced, in implementing R2P to protect civilians. The concept of Responsibility to Protect was recognized by the UN General Council in 2005 as a legally binding obligation for member states to respond in conflict situations, where a state fails to protect its people. This study employed qualitative research techniques and thematic analysis to explore the United States' difficulties with implementing R2P in the Syrian conflict under Trump's administration. The paper found three major factors that had contributed to the failure of the United States in implementing R2P in the Syrian conflict under the Trump administration: prioritization of domestic issues, lack of strategic interest and unclear policies, and lack of international support due to previous intervention failures and opposition from Russia and China. The Syrian situation demonstrates that, while the Responsibility to Protect is an ambitious principle with widespread support, it may not always be an effective option for accomplishing its goals
Money Laundering Practices and Operational Efficiency of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria
Get PDFThis study examined the extent to which operational efficiency is influenced by the legal framework of money laundering in Nigerian commercial banks. It determined the degree of effect which the institutional and the regulatory frameworks for the practices of money laundering have on the operation’s efficiency of deposit money banks. These were to provide information on the nexus between the efficiency and the frameworks for the practices of money laundering within the banking sector in Nigeria. The research design used in this work was a survey. This work used primary data through the structured questionnaires. 900 personnel were selected as a sample size using stratified random sampling. The targeted population were the workers and customers of listed deposit money banks in Nigeria. This research work analysed the data using simple percentages as a descriptive analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA) as an inferential statistic. The work showed that the operational efficiency of deposit money banks was significantly influenced by the legal framework for the practices of money laundering in Nigeria (t = 9.59; p < 0.05). In addition, the operational efficiency of deposit money banks was significantly affected by both the institutional framework and the regulatory framework for the practices of money laundering in Nigeria (t = 3.59; p < 0.05 and t = 2.12; p < 0.05 respectively). In conclusion, the operational efficiency of Nigerian deposit money banks changed significantly as a result of the formulation of frameworks for the practices of money laundering
Digital Literacy Practices: Expressing Multiple Identity Constructions in Writing Classroom
Get PDFThis study investigated multiple identity constructions are expressed by English as Foreign Language university students’ in writing argumentative process. The qualitative research explains students’ identities communicated in argumentative writing process, including academic, organization, citizenship, religion and gender. The data were obtained from qualitative interviews with ten students, they had different communities outside university in East Java, Indonesia. The results found that students use their community background’s identity to access, evaluate, create and communicate their own experiences and contents from digital sources in argumentative writing process. The particular communication enables students to develop their academic writing of argumentative text and social skill with social media supports.

Van Dijk Model Critical Discourse Analysis of Tiktok Content “Kehidupan Rumah Tangga” in Gender Perspective
Get PDFWomen’s role in household chores such as cooking, cleaning, washing, and childcare has become a norm perpetuated within a patriarchal cultural framework. Conversely, men are only expected to meet the family's financial needs. This dichotomous division of labor is deeply ingrained in the consciousness of Indonesian society, creating a clear split between the head of the family and the housewife, society and the family, and rational and emotional patterns. Controversy arises when differing views on the division of household chores surface, as illustrated in the "Household Life" post that went viral on TikTok on November 2, 2023. The thread posted by the @namakusina account depicts women as those who serve and take care of all household needs and men as those who want to be served. Teun A. Van Dijk's genre method for critical discourse analysis is employed in this research. The macro, superstructure, and microstructure of the research object are analyzed using a descriptive qualitative methodology. The findings indicate that the language choice in the "Household Life" content online legitimizes the gender-based division of household chores, reinforcing patriarchal discourse. Furthermore, the research shows that misinterpretation of responses and the limitations of online communication models can lead to new problems, including misunderstanding, denial, excuses, and even the potential formation of misogynistic groups on TikTok. Therefore, greater attention needs to be given to aspects of online communication that can influence the perception and reproduction of gender norms in society
