A Comparative Study of Thanatos in T.S. Eliot’s Poetry and the Poetry of Manouchehr Atashi and Ali Babachahi
Death has always occupied man’s mind as one of his major concerns and its traces can well be detected in his life. All forms of art, particularly literature, have embraced death and its accompanying elements as one of their prominent subjects. Moreover, this theme has not been confined to any specific realm which by itself hints at the universality of death. Beside the presumed affinities, different facets have also been attributed to death and thus it has not been perceived as one single entity by literary figures in all literary works. Despite the evident presence of death in western literature, it would be a mistake to confine the treatment of death as an angel-like figure merely to modern western poetry, for it dates back to ancient Greek mythology where Thanatos appears as the manifestation of death. Even though his initial attributes used to be those related to a deadly agent who would ruthlessly take man’s life, before long it would be replaced by an angel-like image demonstrating a peaceful agent who would accompany human beings at the time of their death in a serene manner. Apparently, it has found its way into Eastern Literature as well. This study aims at establishing a comparative study of Thanatos or death-wish in some poems selected from both a Western poet from Great Britain, i.e. T. S. Eiot and two Persian poets from Southern Iran, i.e. Manouchehr Atashi and Ali Babachahi. In this comparative study, death-wish would be discussed based upon the chosen poems through the use of descriptive-analytical method. The selected poems have been contextualized in this study
The Significance of Phantasmagoria in W. B. Yeats’s “The Wild Swans at Coole”
This study studies the significance of Yeats’s phantasmagoria and discusses its constructive role in the poem “The Wild Swans at Coole”. Yeats speaks of the significant role of phantasmagoria in the preface to The Wild Swans at Coole and introduces it a means through which he can express his convictions of the world. The poet, according to Yeats, never speaks directly; there is always a phantasmagoria involved. The term phantasmagoria can be regarded as a key concept in Yeats’s The Wild Swans at Coole. A deep interpretation of the poems of this collection necessitates a close study of the images and symbols constructing the related phantasmagoria. It is the analysis of the phantasmagoric images and symbols of the poems that helps reveal both the poet’s mind and its development. Yeats’s phantasmagoria is extensive and has multiple facets. It can be traced in various forms in different poems. Its vivid presence can well be noticed in the elegies, personal love lyrics, and philosophical poems of The Wild Swans at Coole
Cultural Acculturation of Yogyakarta and Central Java (SURAKARTA) in the "Kethek Ogleng" Performance by Sanggar Tari Kendhalisada
This study examines the phenomenon of cultural acculturation manifested in the "Kethek Ogleng" performance staged by the Kendhalisada Dance Studio in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta. This art form emerged from the interaction between Yogyakarta and Surakarta cultures, as reflected in various dance movements, costumes, and storylines. Employing a qualitative approach, the study explores the mutual influence and adaptation between the elements of these two cultures. The "Kethek Ogleng" performance narrates the love story of Raden Panji Asmarabangun and Dewi Sekartaji, where the character Kethek Ogleng serves as an obstacle in their journey. The findings reveal that acculturation is evident not only in visual aspects such as costumes but also in the diverse dance movements that blend the styles of Surakarta and Yogyakarta. The results highlight that this performance not only represents the richness of local culture but also strengthens the cultural identity of the Gunungkidul community. Thus, "Kethek Ogleng" becomes a symbol of cultural continuity and the dynamic evolution of traditions within society

Critical thinking is important to prepare students to face various problems in daily life. Based on this presentation, it can be concluded that this research is intended as an effort to improve literacy competence in Phase D students by applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) strategy, both in Indonesian learning in the classroom, and in the School Literacy Movement (GLS)
The Knowledge of the Judge and Other Proofs in the Afghan Jurisprudence and Law Assessment Center
The knowledge of the judge as one of the methods of proving a criminal case, especially in cases where the issue cannot be proven by other proofs of the case, is a path-breaker for the judge, according to the approach of the conscientious persuasion system in the legal and judicial system, where the knowledge and persuasion of the judge is the basis and the criterion of the validity of the evidence of the lawsuit. That is, the evidence of proof is included in the document of the verdict if it convinces the judge's conscience. The purpose of this research is to analyze jurisprudential data based on Imamiyyah and Sunni jurisprudence and the procedures of Afghanistan's legal system in the field of validity and superiority of the judge's knowledge compared to other proofs, by adopting the descriptive and analytical research method. The findings of the research show that among the Islamic jurists, the Imamiyyah jurists often consider the judge's knowledge as absolute proof, but on the other hand, the Sunni jurists mostly consider the judge's reference to his knowledge to be against the Prophet's way of life and to slander him. Jurists also believe that the judge can only use his knowledge to evaluate the reasons and draw conclusions from what is presented to the court, but he cannot rely on his knowledge to prove the claim or deny it. In the subject law of Afghanistan, the knowledge of the judge, which is obtained through Emirates and conclusive evidence, is accepted in criminal matters both as the support and validity of other evidence and as one of the evidence to prove the criminal case. After examining the validity of the proofs and determining the scope of the judge's knowledge, the relationship between the judge's knowledge and other proofs of the lawsuit is determined. Comparing the judge's knowledge with confession in criminal and civil matters is different. Since the confession is detrimental to the individual and the validity of knowledge is inherent in the assumption of conflict, the judge's knowledge precedes the confession, but in civil matters, there is no conflict and the judge is obliged to rule according to the confession. In the case of a conflict between the knowledge of a judge and evidence, since knowledge is definite and certain, but evidence and testimony are amara, and the validity of the knowledge of a great person is from amara, knowledge should be preferred over amara. The investigation and examination of the crime scene, the opinion of experts, as well as evidence and emirates, are all the introduction to the knowledge of the judge, and the possibility of conflict in them is unimaginable because all their validity and value is to convince the judge's conscience
Analysis of Difficulties in Learning Accounting: Perspective of Teachers and Students
This study aims to analyze the difficulties in learning accounting faced by students and teachers in State Senior High Schools in Palembang City, especially at Senior High School 3 (SMA Negeri 3) and Senior High School 13 (SMA Negeri 12) Palembang. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with data collection techniques through questionnaires given to 118 students and interviews with 8 economics teachers. The results of the study indicate that most students have difficulties in understanding several accounting topics, especially trial balance, general ledger, reversing journals, and adjusting journal entries. The main factors that influence students' learning difficulties are the complexity of the material and limited learning time, plus the use of conventional learning strategies that are less varied. Nevertheless, students show high interest and motivation in learning accounting. This study suggests the development of more effective learning strategies, including the use of technology-based learning media such as videos and e-books, to help students understand accounting materials better. This analysis is expected to be a guideline in improving accounting learning in the future
Exploring Gender Dynamics: A Linguistic Analysis of Gender Representation in Najib Mahfudz's Novel Bidayah wa Nihayah
The researcher's findings from the Novel Bidayah Wa Nihayah are very interesting to study in more depth regarding the analysis of gender representation (language describes characters based on gender). This research analyses the language used to portray characters based on gender and gender stereotypes in "Bidayah Wa Nihayah." This study contributes to understanding the language differences men and women use in "Bidayah wa Nihayah," providing insight into linguistic features employed by each gender. The findings from my research are quite intriguing, particularly regarding the representation of gender language in the novel "Bidayah wa Nihayah" by Najib Mahfudz. The study reveals the use of filler words, mitigators, and address terms. Filler words and mitigators indicate a representation of gender language that reflects male dominance and the oppression of individuals. This representation is also evident in the dominance of male characters in conversations. Female characters use language to establish, maintain, and develop personal relationships, while males view language as a tool for conveying information. Dominant gender language representation is found in the use of fillers and hedges in the conversations within Najib Mahfouz's novel "Bidayah wa Nihayah.
