In this modern era, trade secrets play a crucial role in the world of commerce. Therefore, this information must be kept confidential to prevent it from being leaked to other parties. On the other hand, food and beverage businesses are required to have a Halal Certificate, as a manifestation of the Halal Product Guarantee Law, which examines raw materials, production processes, the implemented Halal Assurance System, location, equipment, and distribution and presentation of products. This raises concerns among business owners regarding the protection of their trade secret information, as this information can determine the success or failure of a business. The purpose of this study is to determine the responsibilities of BPJPH (Indonesian Food and Beverage Supervisory Agency) in implementing Halal certification related to the protection of business secrets, and to determine the efforts that business owners must take to ensure their trade secrets are legally protected. This research is an empirical study. Data collection techniques used were field research and literature study. Field research was obtained through interviews with the Halal Inspection Institution (LPH) and business owners, while literature study research was obtained from laws and regulations, scientific articles, and other written sources. The results of the study show that: (1) BPJPH, in implementing halal certification of food and beverages in Makassar City, must ensure that sensitive information, such as recipes and production processes, are kept confidential by auditors or related parties, to avoid misuse of data by unauthorized parties, considering that there are concerns that business actors, as owners of trade secrets, will not protect their trade secrets, which have strategic value and competitive advantages, so that they must be responsible if there is a violation of the business actor\u27s trade secrets; (2) Efforts that can be made by business actors, if there is a violation of trade secrets, are to file a civil

Methodological Biases in Adult-Acquired Flatfoot Deformity Research: A Systematic Analysis of Study Design Limitations

    Get PDF
Aims: Adult-acquired flatfoot deformity (AAFD) research has historically emphasized posterior tibial tendon dysfunction while underestimating medial ankle ligamentous pathology. This study systematically examines how specific methodological biases in research design have obscured the early and mechanistically significant role of the spring ligament and deltoid ligament complex. Methods: analyzed 195 papers from multi-database searches (Sci Space, PubMed, Google Scholar) examining AAFD pathomechanics, imaging assessment, and clinical outcomes published between 2010-2025. Studies were systematically evaluated for five categories of methodological bias: temporal bias (study design and timing), assessment bias (measurement approaches), measurement bias (outcome instruments), publication bias (reporting patterns), and conceptual bias (theoretical frameworks). Results: Five interconnected methodological biases were identified. Temporal bias: 85% of studies employed cross-sectional designs preventing determination of primary versus secondary pathology. Assessment bias: reliance on static imaging underestimated dynamic ligamentous function, with weight-bearing CT revealing pathology invisible on conventional imaging. Measurement bias: absence of validated ligament-specific outcome measures created circular reasoning where ligament pathology was deemed clinically irrelevant. Publication bias: surgical literature over represented tendon-focused interventions by 4:1 ratio. Conceptual bias: tendon-centric paradigms predetermined research questions and variable selection. Conclusion: Methodological choices, not biological reality, have systematically underestimated ligament contributions to flatfoot progression. Addressing these limitations requires longitudinal study designs, dynamic functional assessment protocols, development of validated ligament-specific outcome measures, and hypothesis-driven research explicitly testing ligament roles. Recognition of these biases is essential for advancing AAFD pathomechanics understanding and improving clinical assessment strategies

Nazham  ‘imrithy is one of the nazham  which discusses the rules of Arabic sentence structure in poetic form. Even though it contains Arabic language rules, because it is presented in poetic form, it does not rule out the possibility of a clash between the language rules and the rules of ‘arudh science. The aim of this research is to find out the poetic necessity that exists in nazham  ‘imrithy The research method used is descriptive-analysis, while the data collection technique uses documentary data collection techniques by reading and taking notes. The results of this research are that there are poetic necessity that occur in several stanzas in nazham  ‘imrithy with the provisions; changed the ism ghairu munsharif (صرف ما لا ينصرف), shortened the long sound (قصر الممدود), replaced hamza washl with hamza qath’\u27 (قطع همزة الوصل), replaced hamza qath’ with hamza washl (وصل همزة القطع), alleviete the hamza (تخفيف الهمزة), giving harokat to plural meem (تحريك ميم الجمع), giving harokat kasroh at the end of the majzum mudhari’i with sukun (تحريك آخر المضارع المجزوم بالسكون لأجل الروي), turning off the vowels (تسكين المتحرك), and turning on the consonants (وتحريك الساكن).   Keywords: arabic poetry, nazham  ‘imrithy, poetic necessit

Wokewashing and Greenwashing: The Silent Architects of Eco-apartheid in Mbue’s How Beautiful We Were

    Get PDF
A positive image is very necessary for a company to promote its values and be accepted in society. However, if the positive image narrated is contrary to reality, then the case can be categorized as green-washing, if it concerns the environment, and woke-washing, if it concerns social welfare. Furthermore, literary works as a mirror of society have room to represent green-washing and woke-washing, one of which is in the novel How Beautiful We Were by Mbue. In the novel, green-washing and woke-washing are not just image manipulation for profit but also play a major role in perpetuating eco-apartheid by the American oil company called Pexton which occurred in the village of Kosawa. Based on this case, this research aimed to rigorously analyze the extent of eco-apartheid inflicted upon the affected community. Furthermore, it also attempt to critically uncover the mechanism that not only mask corporate exploitation but also actively reinforce eco-apartheid. Moreover, to achieve this goal, this research uses descriptive qualitative and the concept of levels of marginalization of eco-apartheid, green-washing, and woke-washing.  This study used close reading to systematically identify words, phrases, and sentences that revealed different levels of eco-apartheid, green-washing, and woke-washing. The collected data was then analyzed to uncover the extent and deeper mechanisms that allow eco-apartheid to persist based on the theories used. This research finds that the level of marginalization in eco-apartheid has reached the third level. Then, eco-apartheid is maintained through a green-washing mechanism, namely by creating the illusion of concern for environmental pollution and clean water, and a woke-washing mechanism, namely by promoting Pexton\u27s concern for social welfare, offering job opportunities, compensation money and scholarships

The participants in this study were 34 undergraduate students enrolled in an English prose course at a state university located in Makassar city, Indonesia. Data were collected through three primary instruments: intellectual diaries, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis with six steps implementation stages. The findings revealed four key themes in dealing with students’ intellectual diary: enhanced critical thinking, improved reading comprehension and analytical abilities, increased self-reflection and metacognitive awareness, and greater engagement with course material. These findings suggest that intellectual diaries can be a valuable tool for promoting literacy development in higher education. The study\u27s findings contribute to the existing body of knowledge on literacy education by providing empirical evidence of the benefits of intellectual diaries in an English prose course context

The Resistance to The Objectification of Body in Emily Ratajkowski’s Memoir My Body

    Get PDF
This research aims to contribute to the analysis of feminism and patriarchal culture related to the objectification of women\u27s bodies and their resistance in the memoir My Body released in 2021 and written by Emily Ratajkowski. The memoir My Body (2021) illustrates that patriarchal culture grows and develops in people\u27s lives as shown by the dominance of men over women in various aspects of life which causes women\u27s bodies to be objectified so that they experience limited access in various fields of life. The analysis in this study includes the depiction of patriarchal culture and objectification of women\u27s bodies in the memoir My Body (2021) and the resistance to patriarchal culture carried out by female characters in the memoir My Body (2021). In conducting the analysis, the researcher used the literary criticism method by using the theory of feminism from Helene Cixous\u27 thoughts to analyse feminism related to the culture of objectification of women\u27s bodies and their resistance. The results of this study found 4 data in the form of narratives. This research describes body objectification as a culture that limits women that makes women disadvantaged, the culture depicts women as figures who depend on male superiority, and as objects of male lust. In their resistance, women reject norms by writing. Women also resist the culture of objectification by being independent from male roles, independent in defending themselves, and independent in making life decisions. Women are also portrayed as rebelling against male control. This research makes an answer to Helene Cixous\u27 theory of "why women should write" because they have to "fight" the norms and culture that limit and harm women themselves and only fellow women understand how to be in that position
