Milestones in the journey of phenomenology: from Socrates to Kant

    Get PDF
Phenomenology is linked to ancient philosophers as its roots can be traced from the Socratic era. Various other philosophers have also contributed to develop this field. As Socrates’ ‘skepticism’, Plato’s ‘idealism’, Aristotle’s ‘realism’, Locke’s ‘epistemology’, Hume’s ‘positivism’, and Kant’s ‘existentialism’ are all of the respective concepts which provided the very fundamentals of phenomenology. After these great philosophers, others have also played their significant role as milestones in this journey. In this work, researchers have reviewed the contributions of prominent phenomenologists in historical order. The respective researchers have analyzed the difference and contrast between the approaches of different thinkers. On the basis of the review of selected thinkers by applying the method of relational analysis, researchers have concluded that with the passage of time phenomenology has also evolved and became more empirical as well as dialectic.

Some results for Volterra integro-differential equations depending on derivative in unbounded domains

    Get PDF
In this paper we study the existence of continuous solutions of an integro-differential equation in unbounded interval depending on derivative This paper extend some results obtained by the authors using the technique developed in their previous paper. This technique consists in  introducing,  in the given problems, a function q, belonging to a suitable space, instead of the state variable x. The fixed points of this function are the solutions of the original problem. In this investigation we use a fixed point theorem in Fréchet spaces

    Theorem of the complex exponentials

    Get PDF
This paper describes a new theorem that relates the lengths of the legs of a right triangle with the ratio of three complex exponentials. The big novelty of the theorem consists in transforming two real measures of legs derived from Euclidean geometry into a combination of imaginary elements obtained from the complex analysis

The measurement problem in quantum mechanics

    Get PDF
In this paper, we discuss the importance of measurement in quantum mechanics and the so-called measurement problem. Any quantum system can be described as a linear combination of eigenstates of an operator representing a physical quantity; this means that the system can be in a superposition of states that corresponds to different eigenvalues, i.e., different physical outcomes, each one incompatible with the others. The measurement process converts a state of superposition (not macroscopically defined) in a well-defined state. We show that, if we describe the measurement by the standard laws of quantum mechanics, the system would preserve its state of superposition even on a macroscopic scale. Since this is not the case, we assume that a measurement does not obey to standard quantum mechanics, but to a new set of laws that form a “quantum measurement theory”

    Mathematics is a Science!

Mathematics plays a central role in modern science. However, it is very common an instrumental and utilitarian view of math leading to the underestimation of its scientific nature. We propose some consideration to emphasize a different idea on the fundamental role of math in modern science

    Cognition and Reality

    Get PDF
My study rebuilds the basic cognitive principle to approach the true form of motion reality. Scientific study and development has  always been led by facts but has never been able to reach the basic truth. This is related to our basic sensory and cognitive modes. Our cognition and practices have been developed based on functionally created facts which are at odds with the motion directed natural principle formed in reality. Our basic sensory form is integrated by interactive features formed based on interactions between our senses and environment. We do not sense the true motion features of reality. This cognitive mode successfully meets our survival needs of interacting with the environment. However, for the development of a sustainable civilization it’s necessary to break through the ultimate barrier between cognition and reality. We need to realize the functions and limitations of our cognitive mode and how that effects human social practice and development, and most importantly, the natural world. This is the way to fundamentally understand and solve the societal and environmental problems caused by human development

This work presents a Decision Making Model riferring to the forecasts about Football World Cup in Brazil (2014). The aim of this work is to demonstrate how it is possible to approach young students to the study of Mathematics through evoking themes that are congenial to them and able to arouse their interest

Internet and Greek Pontian Associations in Thrace

    Get PDF
Greeks of Pontian ancestry migrated, forcibly, from Pontus to Greece where they founded Pontian Greek communities, mainly in northern Greece. The rapid increase in usage of the Internet during the past years appears to be significantly affecting the activity of cultural associations in general. The Greek Pontian associations of Thrace have begun taking advantage of the Internet and social networks for their diversified activities, a “modernization” which has not been studied extensively thus far. In this paper, a corresponding analysis is performed, concluding that the activity of the associations on the Internet reflects an upward trend, while an increasing number of them seek to maintain an active presence on the Internet through web sites and social networks. This activity includes primarily press conferences and informative announcements

Ordered Numerical Systems in Hilbert's "Grundlagen der Geometrie"

    Methodology of Pedagogical Research

    Get PDF
The pedagogical research constitutes a critical, dynamic, intentional, active process oriented towards the investigation of the educaional reality under all its aspects. The present paper brings in the forefront the effort of pedagogy to crystalize its own methodology of research in its demarche of affirmation and consolidation of its scientifical status. The complexity and the high number of inter-depedent variables present in the study of the human condition foiled the effort to apply a model of scientific research underlain on the method of natural sciences in the field of social-human sciences. In this context, the pedagogy was bound to shade its methods of research in order to surprise as truthful as possible the complexity and diversity of the educational processes. Thus, besides the empirical-experimental method, the pedagogy was enriched with new methods of research such as the hermeneutic method, the historical method, the rhetorical method, the descriptive method, the problematization method
