Projection of socio-economic changes following the COVID-19 pandemic (Proiezione dei cambiamenti socioeconomici a seguito della pandemia Covid-19)
AbstractAlbeit in the immediacy of the event and although aware that it is a first interpretative proposal, this article analyses possible future scenarios concerning socio-economic consequences in Italy after the spread of the Covid-19 virus (coronavirus, 2019-nCoV). The social processes related to the pandemic will be examined, from the media information diffusion to the socio-economic consequences of the phenomenon. Among the main effects, included in the projections, the authors find considerable impacts in the tourism and restaurant sectors. The former, if not supported by adequate campaigns, will experience extended hard time, which will maintain its effects also in the long run. The latter will experience profound changes in the work organization and the service quality definition. Finally, some beneficial effects have been hypothesized, such as a re-evaluation of the health sector and enhancement of public opinion about scientific research. Keywords: Covid-19, 2019-nCoV, coronavirus, Italy, pandemics, socio-economic scenarios.
About two countable families in the finite sets of the Collatz Conjecture
With t∊ℕ we define the sets Kt and Kt*containing all positive integers that converge to 1 in t iterations in the form of Collatz algorithm. The following are the properties of the { Kt }t∊ℕ and { Kt* }t∊ℕ : countability, empty intersection between the elements of the same family, and - at the end of the work - we conjecture that both of the two families are a partition of . We demonstrate also that each set Kt and Kt* is the union of two sets, a set includes even positive integers, the other, if it’s non-empty, includes odd positive integers different from 1 and we go on proving that the maximum of each set Kt and Kt* is 2t and that Kt ꓵKt*={2t}.
On δ-preregular e*-open sets in topological spaces
In this paper, we introduce a new class of sets called, δ-preregular e*-open sets and investigate their properties and characterizations. By using δ-preregular e*-open sets, we obtain decompositions of complete continuity and decompositions of perfect continuity
Mind matters in mathematics and music
Mathematics and music in practice and performance, and in learning and teaching, share many characteristics, such as beauty and harmony, memory and intuition (as internal senses) and mind or intellect. These raise the principles of processing information in mathematics and music and, by implication, the role of an acquaintance with the essentials of perception, abstraction and affective connaturality in teacher education. This paper compares mathematics and music and considers the acquisition of knowledge and skills through the external and internal senses and emotions, utilizing the role of knowledge through multiple intelligences. In doing so it does not canvas the utilities of mathematics and music as fields of human endeavour so much as their role in the cultivation of serenity and knowledge in the cultured mind. This is a theoretical paper but it is based on nearly a century of teaching from the combined work of the two authors in the teaching of music and mathematics. The paper highlights the importance of inspiration in teaching, inspiration built on a thorough basis of the foundations of anthropology to include the emotions as well as the intellect. While teacher education programs rightly concern themselves with knowledge of the field of study, knowledge of pedagogy, they do not always consider the ability to inspire which is at the heart of managing and mentoring people

The object of this paper to prove a common fixed point theorem in b-metric space using alpha compatible and alpha continuous mappings. Furthermore our conclusions are supported by appropriate example
The banality of evil. A review in the light of the affective turn in the social sciences (La banalità del male. Una revisione alla luce dell’affective turn nelle scienze sociali)
The well-known metaphor on the banality of evil, used by Arendt on the trial of the Nazi hierarch Eichmann in Jerusalem, can also be reviewed in the light of the so-called "affective turn" in the social sciences. Eichmann's tragic obedience to the creators of the Holocaust does not only derive from the renunciation to implement an autonomous thought, in the context of the Nazi system, but also from a deep inability to feel emotions and to develop empathic relationships. This allows a process of identification with the manipulation of emotions and feelings put into practice by the regime and at the same time a process of pathological detachment towards the politically persecuted by the regime itself.
On Characterization of δ-Topological Vector Space
The main objective of this paper is to present the study of δ-topological vector space, δ-topological vector space are defined by using δ-open sets and δ-continuous mapping which was introduced by J.H.H. Bayati[3] in 2019. In this paper, along with basic inherent properties of the space, δ-closure and δ-interior operators are discussed in detail. We characterize some important properties like translation, dilation of the δ-topological vector space and an example of δ-topological vector space is also established
The Bible and science: the relationship between science and the Christian religion
The relationship between the Bible and science has been debated for decades. While science has emerged as a multifaceted discipline focused on the natural world, it has been viewed as a growing body of facts or knowledge (Philip & Cherian, 2017); and a path to understanding (Yates, et al., 2015). As scientists test ideas, emerging disciplines such as palaeoanthropology, geology, archaeology, and evolutionary biology have attempted to prove Christian beliefs based on the Biblical account. Although the Bible was considered authoritative, the knowledge generated by science has been so powerful and reliable in different things. While some people might use science to prove their own opinions, bringing an encroachment on the territory of religion, which theologians do not qualify as a scientific field. This paper has collected and analysed ideas from different scientists, philosophers, historians and theologians to examine the relationship between the Bible and Science, and the extent to which one is inductive to another. While an existence of a super intelligent designer was a common idea, confrontation focused on timeliness, creation story, divine action and miracles. Since religious people appeal to factual statements, while science is still developing and cannot prove the Bible or the existence of God with its lack of moral judgment, the Bible was qualified authoritative for faith and life
Analysis of classical retrial queue with differentiated vacation and state dependent arrival rate.
In present paper we have introduced the concept of differentiated vacations in a retrial queueing model with state dependent arrival rates of customers. The arrival rate of customers is different in various states of the server. The vacation types are differentiated by means of their durations as well as the previous state of the server. In type I vacation, server goes just after providing service to at least one customer whereas in type II, it comes after remaining free for some time. In steady state, we have obtained the system size probabilities and other system performance measures. Finally, sensitivity and cost analysis of the proposed model is also performed. The probability generating function technique, parabolic method and MATLAB is used for the purpose
A Unified Shape Model For Sunspot Number Cycles
Modelling and prediction of sunspot number time series is an unavoidable activity in the space object re-entry prediction community. Different mathematical functions have been proposed in the literature as sunspot number cycle model, since the McNish-Lincoln regression fit. Since many models are available in the literature, a new mathematical function which fits the sunspot number cycle does not add any additional value unless it have a greater predictive power or simplicity in model. Hence, we propose in this paper, a model which unify many models in literature and show that the shape of sunspot number cycle can be described as a product of a polynomial and a negative exponential function. The proposed model has certain free parameters, which need to be estimated from the observed sunspot number data. Since all the models reviewed in this paper are a product of a polynomial and a negative exponential along with a number of parameters, we have seen that all these models can be derived from a modified generalized Gamma probability density function by transforming certain parameters and fixing certain parameters. In this paper, we estimate the parameters of the model from the revised monthly averaged sunspot numbers available in the SIDC website. In addition, an attempt has been made to test the goodness of fit of the model using the coefficient of determination. Finally a preliminary level prediction have also been attempted to forecast the characteristics of sunspot number cycle 25.
