Universalisation of Secondary Education in India

    No full text
Secondary Education (S.E) serves as a link between the elementary and higher education and plays a very important role in this respect. Apart from grounding the roots of education of a child, secondary education can be instrumental in shaping and directing the child to a bright future. This stage of education serves to move on higher secondary stage as well as to provide generic competencies that cut across various domains of knowledge as well as skills. The recent significant development viz., Universal Elementary Education (UEE) being achieved through Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and also the impact of globalization and rapid growth of new technologies have led to reassessment of India’s preparedness to generaterequired technical manpower, develop new knowledge and skills, and remain competitive at global level, the time has arrived for taking proactive measures to plan and provide for universal access to secondary education and senior secondary education in a phased—wise manner.

Evaluation of in sacco Ruminal Degradation Profiles of Raw and Steamed Maize Cob and Their Effects in Replacing Maize Bran in Diets

    No full text
The degradation experiment was conducted using three healthy bulls fitted with permanent rumen canulas of 40 mm diameter. The bulls were fed cowpea husk ad libitum as the basal diet and supplemented with 500 g/day of a mixture of maize bran, cotton seed cake, and minerals in the ratio of 59:40:1 respectively. Three (3) gram of each sample was replicated two times and put into six (6) different nylon bags, inserted via permanent ruminal canula and left in the rumen for each incubation time: 3, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36 and 48 hours. The bags containing undigested residues were removed from the rumen after each incubation time and thoroughly washed under running tap water until the washing water was clear. The differences in weights of dry matter in the nylon bags before and after rumen incubation represented materials degraded in the rumen. Dry matter disappearance (washing loss) was determined by soaking three bags of each sample in warm water at about 40°C for 30 minutes. The bags were removed and washed under running tap water for some minutes. When the water became clear, the samples were dried in the oven at 65°C for 48 hours. The actual percentage of dry matter disappearance was then calculated. After compounding the diets, the raw and steam-treated maize cobs with 10% cotton seed cake across levels, there were increased rumen degradations (40.11 to 57.42%) at 48 hours incubation. The maize cob when incorporated with other feeds, can replace more expensive maize bran up to 50% with resultant high rumen degradation without health hazard to the animals.

Assessing Profitability of Rose Cultivation using Greenhouse Technique Based on Solar Heating in North India: A Review

    No full text
Rose, botanically distinguished as Rosa spp., originated from Europe, is a woody perennial flowering plant of the family Rosaceae. Due to its immense ornamental and commercial importance, it is known as the “king of flowers”. It is essentially developed in the open air field, however the predominance of baby’s room ascension development is supplementally consequential. Rose plants grown under greenhouse are less susceptible to adverse environmental and biological conditions (viz, insect and pathogen attack). This composition introduces the lucrativeness of greenhouse rose multiplication models and its conservative examination as far as zone under subsistence in North India. The examination utilized Revenue edge and Net Profit to analyze the profitable levels for nursery and rose generation framework . The outcomes show that the mean net benefit per meter square for rose production was an increment of 10 times higher than that of open-field rose exordium framework. The investigation in this manner, prescribes advancement of nursery raising engenderment for an enhanced smallholder’s employment

The Ethical Leadership in the Digital Era

    No full text
Ethical leadership has long been interested in researching quite popular in many areas, such as biomedical ethics, business ethics, ethical leadership, etc. but it seems that the practice of ethical leadership is not real respect, especially in the context of the current transformation of society in developing countries and countries that have not made much progress on democracy. Whereas in countries that are highly valued for democracy, the role of the leader becomes prominent to lead the organization to strongly adapt to those changes. Recently, the strong development of digital technology sets out for leaders who require higher and higher levels of practice to apply moral values and values in accordance with the requirements of a digital age, to increase the transparency, accountability, frequent connections between leaders and subordinates with the support of technology platforms, showing the spirit of service leadership. The content of the article will focus on theoretical approaches to clarify the concepts of ethical leadership in a digital era, some recommendations for construction and practice of ethics in a digital era

Effect of Some Natural Essential Oils on French Bread Properties and Fungal Growth

    No full text
Aims: Study the effect of parsley, rocket and thyme essential oils on French bread properties and the shelf life as well. The other aim was to investigate the antifungal effect of three essential oils; against the most important moulds in terms of spoilage of French bread such as (Aspergillus flavus, A. niger, Penicillium, Aspergillus ochraceus and Aspergillus parasiticus). The results: A 50µl, 75µl and 100µl/100g of pure essential oils were applied in dough French bread and the produced bread samples were evaluated in terms of fungal contamination by following the fungal growth during the storage period. The effect of three essential oils additions to dough French bread on sensory, staling, chemical, physical and rheological properties were studied. The tested essential oils have the ability as antifungal activity and maintaining the shelf life of French bread. Rocket and thyme oils had abundant effect followed by parsley, and could be delayed the growth of fungi in French bread and subsequently increase the shelf life for six days. The sensory evaluation of the produced French bread was no significant differences compared with control samples. It is worthy to mention that the addition of tested essential oils delayed the staling property of French bread, also the chemical, physical and rheological properties of produced French bread were improved.     Conclusion: Three essential oils showed a potent antifungal effect against the more common fungi causing spoilage of French bread. Significance and Impact of the Study: The impact of parsley, rocket seeds and thyme leaves essential oils as preservative agents in French bread is very high through the decrease of bread deterioration and economic losses as well

Significance of Physical Fitness, Nutrition and Prevention of Weight Control

    No full text
Physical fitness comprises two related concepts: general fitness (a state of health and well-being), and specific fitness (a task-oriented definition based on the ability to perform specific aspects of sports or occupations). Physical fitness is generally achieved through correct nutrition, exercise, and enough rest. Healthy weight management means focusing on metabolic fitness-healthy levels of blood lipids and blood pressure-rather than on achieving a specific weight. Permanent healthy behaviors are necessary for a long term weight-management lifestyle.

Development and Physicochemical Analysis of Ceramic Water Filters

    No full text
Ceramic water filters (CWFs) are promoted in developing nations by World Health Organisation (WHO) to improve water quality. In this study, CWFs were developed from raw materials such as cullet, limestone and clays. The aim of the study is to evaluate the role of cullet and limestone on the physicochemical properties of filtered water samples. Total numbers of eight CWFs were formulated with various percentages of cullet and limestone. Physical and chemical analyses were carried out on selected water samples including borehole (BH), well (WL), and pond (PD). Physicochemical parameters examined were pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids (TSS), electrical conductivity, hardness, and turbidity. Results showed significant increase in the values of TDS and electrical conductivity after using developed CWFs. The values of TSS reduced while slight changes were observed in pH and hardness readings of filtrates. Most CWFs helped to reduce the turbidity content in filtered water samples

Application of Aboodh Transform to the Solution of Stochastic Differential Equation

    No full text
The solutions to differential equations (DEs) with emphasis on the stochastic differential equation (SDE) are achieved by implementing a new integral transform, namely, Aboodh transform, and the transformation method and properties on the given DE. In this work, we found the particular solution of the SDE on specified initial conditions. Furthermore, this solution is used to discuss the equilibrium price and growth rate of asset
