Postwar American Experimental Film and Queer Psychogeography
Get PDFThis essay reads queer American experimental film of the 1940s and 1950s—by Kenneth Anger, Willard Maas, Gregory Markopoulos, and Curtis Harrington, among others—as a form of queer psychogeography: a style of urban dwelling and transit that originated with French surrealism in the late 1920s and was subsequently theorized by Lettrists and Situationists in the 1950s. Psychogeography consisted in drifting through the city in search of evocative or destabilizing spots, which, for postwar American experimental filmmakers, were locations latent with (queer) sexual possibility. This approach allows us to re-interpret these films from an unprecedented perspective. So far conceptualized as cinematic renderings of trances and dreams triggered by the search for sexual identity, the present article shows that this body of work registers as well a material practice consisting in the covert sexualisation of urban space; this practice arises from the attempt of postwar queer subcultures to escape regulation and surveillance during repressive times

Organisering på tværs af organisatoriske grænser
Get PDFVærdiskabelse sker i stigende grad på tværs af organisatoriske grænser og skaber dermed grundlag for gentænkning og innovation af eksisterende forretningsmodeller. Der eksisterer derfor et behov for at gøre op med det traditionelle fokus på enkeltstående forretningsmodeller i isolerede organisationer. I denne artikel introduceres en distinktion mellem intra- og inter-organisatoriske forretningsmodeller. Ved at bygge bro mellem forskellige teoretiske dimensioner af inter-organisatorisk samarbejde og forretningsmodellitteratur diskuteres, hvorledes forretningsmodelinnovation kan være en tilgang til at skabe organisering på tværs af organisatoriske grænser. Dette eksemplificeres gennem en case, der følger inter-organisatorisk samarbejde omkring forretningsmodeludvikling og etablering af en kollaborativ forretningsmodel på Aalborg Havn
The Alternative Histories of Muslim Asia’s Urban Centres: De-Cosmopolitanisation and Beyond
Get PDFHistorians increasingly analyse the cultural diversity of life in the Afro-Eurasian arena of ‘Muslim dominion’ in terms of its cosmopolitanism. By contrast, critical scholarship has recently brought attention to declining levels of religious diversity in present-day Muslim Asia – a term that refers to Asia’s Muslimmajority population zones. This article, by contrast, explores the ongoing legacy of urban cosmopolitanism in Muslim Asia. It focuses on a small but lively community of Jews from the Afghan cities of Kabul and Herat, and does so in comparison to a considerably larger community of Jews from formerly Soviet Central Asian Republics, especially Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, who identify themselves as ‘Bukharan’. Investigating ethnographic material relating to Afghan and Bukharan Jewish communities based in New York, the article sheds light on an alternative and ongoing history of cosmopolitanism in Muslim Asia. More broadly, it also argues that field research amongst migrant and diasporic communities from Muslim Asia living in the West can offer important insights into the afterlives of the region’s historic cities

Tiltrækning, fastholdelse og ledelse af frivillige i idrætsforeninger
Get PDFDer anvendes i stadig større omfang frivillige i forbindelse med ydelser, der traditionelt har været betalt eller støttet af det offentlige, og stadig flere anvender deres tid som frivillige særligt blandt den voksende gruppe af ældre borgere. Det større udbud af muligheder for at gøre en frivillig indsats på forskellige områder har medført, at nogle af de traditionelle frivillige foreninger har oplevet det vanskeligere at rekruttere frivillige. Men mange ledere i idrætsforeninger har ikke bevidsthed om, at ledelse er vigtig for at få foreningen til at fungere godt, og at der i dag i langt højre grad gælder de samme mekanismer, som der gør på arbejdsmarkedet. Vi argumenterer for, at man som frivillig leder kan skabe resultater, hvis man er bevidst om og bruger tre former for fokus: et indre fokus, fokus på andre og et ydre fokus. Det kan hjælpe den frivillige leder med at agere som en professionel leder, der med passion skal udleve idrætsforeningens mission, omsætte den til en strategi, som kan motivere de frivillige, ved at de udfordres og involveres i beslutningstagningen, så de kan se en mening i det, der foregår, indgå i nye sociale netværk og fællesskaber og samtidig have det sjovt
