Brugerinddragelse: Buzzword, blålys eller bæredygtighed: Ti bud på, hvad der skal til, hvis brugerinddragelse skal lykkes på det socialpsykiatriske område
Get PDFDenne artikel sætter fokus på, hvad der skal til, for at brugerinddragelse på det sociale område kan blive en realitet. Artiklens pointe er, at brugerinddragelse kun bliver bæredygtige tiltag, hvis den prioriteres og koordineres i en fleksibel implementering på alle niveauer i det samfundsmæssige system. Brugerinddragelse forbliver let et blålys eller et buzzword uden etisk substans, hvis ikke også de politiske og organisatoriske rammer for borgere og behandlere rummer reelle muligheder for fleksibilitet, kreativitet, differentiering og forandring.
Artiklen bygger på et aktionsforskningsprojekt vedr. organisatorisk brugerinddragelse på Holmstrupgård, en socialpsykiatrisk døgninstitution for unge og unge voksne i Region Midtjylland (Helm, 2020). Derud over bygger artiklen på to litteraturstudier. Det ene udarbejdet ifm. Ph.d.-projektet, det andet i forlængelse af projektet. Tilsammen viser undersøgelserne, at det gennem afstemt kommunikation er muligt at inddrage borgerne i dialog og i beslutninger af organisatorisk karakter i det omfang lovgivning, standarder, institutionelle rammer, strukturer og forventninger giver plads til det, men at det omvendt også er disse faktorer, der direkte eller indirekte medvirker til at danne barrierer for brugerinddragelsen. 
The Towards Silence Project: Multiple String Quartets Organize to Perform a New Musical Form in Spatially Variable and Distributed Conditions
Get PDFThis case describes an example of a collective making process in the field of performing arts. In 2009, multiple string quartets (many considered world class) organized to perform a new musical composition by Sir John Tavener. The composition challenged four quartets at a time to perform as an integrated ensemble while sitting apart, in various configurations, and at spatial distances up to 70 feet. The process unfolded in three phases: pre-rehearsals of the first group of quartets in the United Kingdom (UK), a series of rehearsals leading to one premiere performance by the second group of quartets in New York, and a series of rehearsals integrated with additional performances in four distinct venues in the UK. Mid-way through the process, the musicians chose to integrate a simple coordinating technology into their process, to address the difficulties produced by distance. This telling of the case story describes what the musicians did to achieve these unprecedented performances, given the unusual circumstances, emphasizing how they made decisions and evaluated their work along the way. The case is based on comprehensive fieldwork, including observation, interviews, spatial measurement and diagramming, questionnaires, and analysis of videotape of the rehearsal process

Urban Hopes, Sexual Horrors: Communal Riots and the Narratives of Violent and Victimized Women in India
Get PDFAcademic discussions of women and the eruption of urban riots in India focus on a range of women’s testimonies. From this perspective, Hindu women who belong to prominent and powerful right-wing organisations demonstrate religious and physical prowess, while minority and unprotected Muslim women are victims during outbreaks of communal violence. This article aims, if not to undermine, but to unsettle these gendered binaries in women’s experiences as victims or perpetrators of urban violence. We suggest that poor women on both sides of exclusionary propaganda and nationalistic discourses experience the actual violent eruption of hostilities as personal suffering and collective loss. Our analysis highlights how these experiences are intimately related to women’s domestic and family relations, bereavement, mobility, their peripheral socio-economic position, anxieties about the integrity of female bodies, etc., over and above women’s disillusionment with the state, secular and faith-based organisations
Foucault’s Queer Virgins: An Unfinished History in Fragments
Get PDFThis essay attends to the place of virginity at the center of the fourth volume of Michel Foucault’s History of Sexuality, Confessions of the Flesh. Reading virginity through a rhetorical lens, the essay argues for an ethics and a politics of counter-conduct in Foucault characterized by chiasmus, a rhetorical structure of inverted parallelism. That chiastic structure frames Foucault’s Confessions, and all of his work, as a fragmented, self-hollowing speech haunted by death and the dissolution of the subject. The essay reads Foucault as apophatic speech that returns to us, no longer itself, made strange. In that deathly movement of eternal recurrence, Foucault’s Confessions speak after death from the x’d out place of the queer virgin: on a threshold that separates life from death, in a movement of metanoia or ethical conversion. As an unfinished history in fragments, the essay’s form brings attention to incompletion as a crucial aspect of Foucault’s work.
