Get PDFDuring the Fourth Plenary Session of the 13th Communist Party of China (CPC) Congress, a new and important reform document was adopted. Announcing reforms mainly in the juridical sector, the 'Decision of the CPC Central Committee Concerning Some Major Questions in Comprehensively Moving Governing the Country According to the Law Forward' is part of the overall reform package kicked off at the Third Plenum last year. This article points out the document's main objectives, and provides a preliminary analysis of the announced reforms. Three main themes are identified. First, the document is part of the overall goal of developing a special Chinese system of 'socialism with Chinese characteristics'. Second, not only institutions but also the minds and work styles of officials are to be reformed. Third, the document strongly affirms the CPC's role as the legal guardian of the reform process, as well as juridical matters

Det kan forekomme naivt at tro, at tingene skulle kunne gøres så enkelt, men omvendt er der vel ingen grund til unødigt at komplicere simple Iøsninger; hvis de findes! Kan vi ændre virksomheden ved anvendelsen af nye tiltag for ledelse eller implementering af ny software? "Data warehouse" er et sådant tryllestavsbegreb og markedsføres af flere forskellige virksomheder som software, hardware og konsulenttjenester, der leverer løsning på virksomhedens problemer. Denne artikel beskriver den teoretiske baggrund for en undersøgelse af data warehouses indførelse i virksomheder. Artiklen betragter gennem litteraturstudie forskellige teorier med relevans for data warehouse. Udgangspunktet er teorien om den informationsbehandlende organisation, hvor nogle centrale parametre findes og dernæst genfindes inden for såvel organisationsteori som teori om systemudvikling. Diskussion omkring disse parametre fører til en beskrivelse af centrale dimensioner for anskuelsen af data warehouse. Det er tanken, at disse dimensioner efter sammenstilling til nogle hypoteser om succesfuld indførelse af data warehouse vil blive afprøvet i forbindelse med større virksomheder. Succes for data warehouse opnås gennem dygtig håndtering af væsentlige organisatoriske dimensioner: 1) eksploration/eksploitation 2) centralisering/decentralisering og 3) usikkerhed/kompleksitet. Men data warehouse er ingen tryllestav. I stedet må succesfuld udvikling af data warehouse opnås gennem succesfuld systemudvikling

De er overfladiske i deres informationssøgning og læser i øvrigt ikke gerne længere, faglige tekster. Aftagerne er ikke tilfredse med kvaliteten af dimittenderne, og de studerende er heller ikke selv tilfredse med, at der ikke i højere grad stilles krav til deres aktive deltagelse i undervisningen. Disse bekymringer er jo ikke nye og ligner en almindelig bekymring om ”ungdommen” i dag. Liberalism, Governmentality and Counter-Conduct; An Introduction to Foucauldian Analytics of Liberal Civil Society Notions
Get PDFThis article gives an analysis of Foucault’s studies of civil society and the various liberalist critiques of government. It follows from Foucault’s genealogical approach that “civil society” does not in itself possess any form of transcendental existence; its historical reality must be seen as the result of the productive nature of the power-knowledge-matrices. Foucault emphasizes that modern governmentality—and more specifically the procedures he names “the conduct of conduct”—is not exercised through coercive power and domination, but is dependent on the freedom and activeness of individuals and groups of society. Civil society is thus analyzed as fundamentally ambivalent: on the one hand civil society is a field where different kinds of technologies of governance meet the lives and wills of groups and individuals, but on the other hand it is a potential field of what Foucault called ‘counter-conduct’ – for both collective action and individual political action
