Kemampuan Berpikir Reflektif Matematis Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Ditinjau dari Dominasi Otak
This study aims to analyze and describe mathematical reflective thinking skills in solving higher order thinking questions in terms of brain dominance. This research was conducted at mts nurul ikhlas taken from class ix. This study uses an exploratory descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study are mathematical reflective thinking ability tests, brain dominance questionnaires, and interviews. The research instrument used is the researcher, the question of the mathematical reflective thinking ability test, the brain dominance questionnaire. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded: (1) the subject of s-06 with left brain dominance was able to work on all stages of mathematical reflective thinking skills at the reacting stage was able to write down what was known and asked and explained what was known was sufficient to answer what was asked, at the elaboration stage. Comparing is able to explain the problems obtained and relate the problems asked to the problems at hand and at the contemplating stage are able to determine the purpose of the problem, detect the truth of determining the answer and make a conclusion. (2) subjects s-14 with right brain dominance were able to do 2 stages. Analisis Mathematics Procedural Fluency Peserta Didik Berdasarkan Gaya Belajar Menurut Kolb
The aims of this research is to describe students’ mathematics procedural fluency based on Kolb’s learning styles. This research is qualitative research with qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this research were students in class IX-I of SMP Negeri 1 Tasikmalaya selected based on Kolb’s learning style by considering students who worked on mathematical procedure fluency test questions wich included three indicators, namely applying procedures appropriately, selecting and utilizing procedures, and modifying procedure on material of the Linear Equation System with Two Variables. Data collection were through mathematics procedural fluency tests, Kolb’s learning style questionnaires, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this research are mathematics procedural fluency of students with diverger learning styles, assimilator learning styles, convergent learning styles, and accommodating learning styles that meet the three indicators. Students with diverger learning style write the results in detail, sequentially, and correct work results, but did not write compeletly the information contained in the problem, students with assimilator learning style write the results of their work with complete work steps and correct result, but not sequential in writing, students with converger learning style write the results detail, sequential work steps, and correct result but did not write down the information completely, and students with accommodator learning style write the result with sequential and correct work result, but did not write down the information contained in the problem and did not write down the calculations carried out completely
Proses literasi matematis peserta didik pada materi program linier ditinjau dari habits of mind
This study aims to describe the process of mathematical literacy according to the OECD in terms of Habits of Mind. This research is a type of qualitative research with descriptive method. Data collection techniques used in the form of distributing questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The instruments given are in the form of a Habits of Mind questionnaire according to Marzano and a test about the mathematical literacy process on linear programming material. The selection of research subjects was based on the results of the answers to the questionnaire and test questions. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that: (1) Students with Habits of Mind in the Self Regulation category. The process that is passed is the process of formulating; apply mathematical concepts, facts and procedures; then the process of interpreting the mathematical results. However, the final results that were carried out were not quite right, but the conclusions drawn were correct. (2) Students with Habits of Mind in the Critical Thinking category. The process that is passed is the process of formulating; apply mathematical concepts, facts and procedures; then return to the process of formulating; then return to the process of applying mathematical concepts, facts and procedures; and ends with the process of interpreting the mathematical results. The final result that is done is right, but the conclusions drawn are wrong. (3) Students with Habits of Mind in the Creative Thinking category. The process that is passed is the process of applying mathematical concepts, facts and procedures; the process of formulating; then return to the process of applying mathematical concepts, facts and procedures; and ends with the process of interpreting the mathematical results. The final results are carried out correctly, and the conclusions drawn are correct
Efektivitas Pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) terhadap Peningkatan Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematika Siswa
One of the appropriate approaches to be applied to learning is the development of a model approach to learning mathematics, also known as a realistic approach to mathematics education. This approach has the advantage of giving students a better understanding of the connection between mathematics and everyday life. The objective of this research is to evaluate the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) method's efficacy in enhancing students' comprehension of mathematical concepts. Study Literature Review (SLR) was used as the research methodology. Finding reference sources and collecting and comparing the sources obtained are the two steps in this method. The study's findings lead us to the conclusion that the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach greatly enhances students' comprehension of mathematical concepts through its application to the learning process. Implications Teachers must be able to properly implement the Realistic Mathematical Education (RME) approach to the learning process in order to raise student achievement levels
Eksplorasi Etnomatematika Masyarakat Madura dalam Melakukan Pengukuran
This study aims to discover the use of mathematical ideas in the tradition of the Madurese society in Tampojung Tengah Village, Waru District, Pamekasan Regency and its potential and its relevance to mathematical concepts. The study emphases on investigating the tradition of measurement that developed in the Madurese society, especially in the middle village of Tampojung. In this qualitative research, the data were collected using the method of observation, interview, and documentation. The data were analyzed by qualitative-verification approach. The findings of this study indicate that the Madurese society has applied a number of mathematical principles in conducting measurement activities as well as in the use of units and measuring instruments. They understand the role and use of measurement units and have found a number of measurement units. They also have a unit of measurement conversion system that is similar in terms of applying mathematical principles with international standards, such as kilograms, meters and other standards. They also showed their understanding of the measurement concept, ratio and comparison when applying the unit's conversion system. This mathematical tradition can inspire the practice of teaching mathematics. This tradition can be used as a didactic phenomenon or as a way to help students achieve more formal mathematics in learning about the concept of the unit of measurement and also the concept of ratio and comparison
Analisis Kemampuan Berpikir Probabilistik Matematis Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif
This study aims to describe the ability to think mathematically probabilistically students in terms of cognitive style. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research with the subject of class XII MIPA 4 students at SMA Negeri 1 Ciamis. Technique data collection in this study, namely the distribution of the Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT) test, presents probabilistic mathematical thinking ability tests and unstructured interviews. The instruments used were the GEFT test and a mathematical probabilistic thinking ability test. The subjects of this study consisted of students with independent and independent field cognitive styles field dependent which fulfills the indicators of mathematical probabilistic thinking ability with highest and consistent GEFT score. Qualitative data analysis was carried out through the reduction stage data, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results obtained that: that S22FD denotes thinking level 3 (informal quantitative) and S30FI denotes thinking level 4 (numeric)
Analisis Kemampuan Penalaran Adaptif Matematis Peserta Didik Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif Reflektif dan Impulsif
This study aims to analyze students' mathematical adaptive reasoning abilities in terms of reflective cognitive style and impulsive cognitive style. This research was conducted in class VIII SMP Negeri 9 Tasikmalaya. The research method used is exploratory. Data collection techniques in this study were through tests of adaptive reasoning abilities, cognitive style tests, and interviews. The research instrument used was the researcher herself as the main instrument as well as adaptive reasoning ability tests, cognitive style tests, and interview guidelines as additional instruments. The research data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that students who have cognitive reflective (S1) are able to estimate strategies and formulas to be used based on information obtained from the problems given, are able to provide proper reasons for the answers given, are able to demonstrate completion by giving correct and complete answers of the problems given, and able to find patterns of a mathematical phenomenon. Whereas students who have a reflective cognitive style (S2) are only able to estimate the strategies and formulas to be used based on information obtained from the problems given and are able to find patterns from only a mathematical symptom. The two students who have a reflective cognitive style are not able to re-examine the answers they get using different ways. Students who have an impulsive cognitive style (S3) are able to predict the strategies and formulas to be used based on the information obtained from the problems given and are able to find patterns from a mathematical symptom. Meanwhile, students with an impulsive cognitive style (S4) are only able to estimate the strategies and formulas to be used based on the information obtained from the given problems. The two students who have an impulsive cognitive style are unable to re-examine the answers they have obtained in different ways
TREN PENELITIAN PENDIDIKAN MATEMATIKA DI SOUTHEAST ASIAN MATHEMATICS EDUCATION JORNAL(SEAMEJ) TAHUN 2021- 2022
The publication of mathematics education research results has increased and developed from time to time, especially in accredited national journals. This study aims to provide an overview of research trends in the field of mathematics education published in Southeast Asian Mathematics Education Journal (SEAMEJ) and identify future mathematics education research opportunities. This research is a scoping literature review using the five-stage Arksey O'Malley framework. The review was conducted on 20 articles in the field of mathematics education published in Southeast Asian Mathematics Education Jornal (SEAMEJ) in the period 2021-2022. The result of research on the topic of mathematics education research in the past were dominated by the design of learning model changing towards teaching materials used in learning. Mathematical method will also evolve over time. Mathematics education research in the past still used a lot of quantitative approaches and changed to qualitative approaches. The subjects of mathematics education research were dominated by junior high school students. It is hoped that further research can broaden the observed dimensions, for example on the topic of mathematics education research studies to be able to study ethnomathematics
Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran POE2WE (Prediction, Observation, Explanation, Elaboration, Write, and Evaluation) terhadap Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis Peserta Didik
Abstract: this research is aims to determine the effect of the POE2WE learning model in students’ mathematical connection abilities. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The research design used is a true experimental design in the form of posttest-only control design with the POE2WE learning model as the independent variable and mathematical connection ability as the dependent variable. The population in this study was all class VIII SMP Al Islam Islamic Boarding School Cirebon, samples were taken from two selected classes, class VIII G as the experimental class and class VIII H as the control class. Data collection was carried out using test techniques. The instrument used is a mathematical connection ability test. An Analysis of Classification Method Performance on Handwritten Lontara Numerals
The research investigates the performance of various classification methods on handwritten Lontara digits, a script used by the Bugis and Makassar communities in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The dataset comprises 10,890 samples from 99 individuals, categorized into 10 classes (digits 0-9). The study employs the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Gaussian Naive Bayes (GNB), and Nu-Support Vector Classifier (NuSVC) algorithms, implementing cross-validation to assess accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. The results indicate varying performance across classifiers, with GNB showing the highest recall, while KNN and NuSVC display moderate effectiveness. The study concludes with recommendations for further improving classification accuracy through enhanced feature extraction and algorithm optimization
