    Information Mobility and Business Transforms

    Get PDF
The dynamic growth of Information Technology offers great opportunities for business enhancements. Information mobility is the latest trend in the IT domain which adds value to Enterprises and puts it in a transition. The transitions from a previous state to an improved one, always involve various risks too. It is essential to have a perfect strategic planning and a set of deployment schemes to bring success in this domain. This has to be realized practically within the time and within the budget. Information mobility is one of the key enabling technologies sweeping across the world offering multifaceted business promotion avenues. The mobility technology is expected to transform enterprise patterns and its operations through various modes of liberal coupling of users and a variety of business processes. The enterprise mobility needs to deal with terms like BYOD, CYOD, MDM, M-Security and M-Analytics to ensure a successful implementation leading to expected transformation. There are various direct advantages derivable from it, like real time enterprise data access, improved collaboration as well as employee and customer satisfaction. At the same time it poses several challenges and risks spread over security of implementations, data classification and user rights management. In this paper we discuss the features of Information Management and the challenges posed by them along with a possible risk profile associated with them

Efficacy of Allium Sativum (Garlic) In the Treatment of Diabetes Induced In Laboratory Rats

    Get PDF
Diabetes has become one of the top killing metabolic disorders in which a person has high blood sugar either as a result of the pancreas not producing enough insulin (type I / Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus [IDDM]) or the cells of the body not responding properly to the insulin produced (type II or Non Insulin Dependent diabetes Mellitus [NIDDM] or Adult Onset Diabetes). This research was centered on the induction of diabetes using Alloxan and subsequent treatment using Allium sativum (Garlic) extract (both fresh and aged). The result showed most of the Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) being lowered from 68-50, 44-57, 51-47, in rat treated with diabetmin, 60-69, 51-72, 55-60 in rats treated with aged Garlic extract and 62-79, 67-76, 50-93 in rats treated with fresh Garlic extract and control given no treatment showing 74-160, 71-162, 49-138 all in milligram per deciliter (mg/dl) and weight reduction from 150-138, 138-125, 150-140 in rats treated with diabetmin , and weight increase from 138-160, 88-100 and 113-125 in rats treated with fresh garlic extract and weight reduction from 138-90, 137 – 90 and 100-97 (all weights are measured in grams) in rats that are not treated. The extracts of fresh and aged garlic show a promising ability in the management of diabetes

The extent of the application of the Jordanian public shareholding companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange with the requirements of revenue recognition of international accounting -Standard 18

    Get PDF
The study aimed to identify the measurement ofaccounting and the recognition of the terms of revenueaccording to the International Accounting Standard 18 , andconsists study population consisted of internal auditors in theJordanian Public Shareholding industrial companies weredistributed to 45 identifying the internal auditors were usedmethods of statistical such as alpha test and percentages andaverages. The most important findings of the study : that ofjoint stock companies apply the foundations of accountingmeasurement by standard 18 as it applies the rules of revenuerecognition in the financial statements. The most importantfindings of the study : the need to adopt the fair value as thebasis for the recognition of revenue , and the need for theapplication of this study on the services sector , and the needto conferences that illustrate the advantages of the applicationof international accounting standards work

Consumer Online Brand Trust and Determinants in Qatar

    Get PDF
The paper theorizes and examines consumer online brand trust (COBT) and its salient determinants in Qatar in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. Results from a sample of 178 respondents in Qatar indicate consumer online brand familiarity, consumer satisfaction with the online brand and website, word-of-mouth communications between online consumers and information on the online brand are positively related to COBT, whilst web design of the brand's website and is not. The theoretical and practical implications are discussed

The proliferation of knowledge-based workforce in knowledge-based economy: Evidence from Malaysian High-Tech Industries

    Get PDF
The aim of this study is to describe the proliferation of knowledge-based workers in the high-tech industries in Malaysia. A total of 1,000 firms representing production and manufacturing sectors of the country's knowledge-based economy were selected from the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturer's list by using the stratified random sampling technique. Self-administered questionnaires and selfaddressed stamped envelopes were distributed to the respondents using postage mail. 120 questionnaires (12%) were returned and data entry was carried out using a statistical package and descriptive statistics was applied on four variables namely demographic, manpower requirements, technology and IT adoption, and training of the firms. The empirical result indicates the growing importance of knowledge-based workers to the emergence of k-economy sectors in Malaysia. Based on the findings, several recommendations being put forward at the end of the report

Theory of Planned Behaviour and the Use of Cell/Mobile Phone in the Classroom

    Get PDF
Although there is no policy in the Nigerian education system that support the use of cell phone in the classroom, but the fact is that, the use of cell phone in classrooms not for academic purposes has been detrimental towards classroom management as well as student performances. This research paper investigates the factors that influence students in using cell phone in the classroom. The Theory of Planned Behaviour was adopted for the investigation. 200 questionnaires were distributed across students of Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau- Nigeria, in order to explore the extent to which student's attitudes, subjective norms and behavioural control influence their behavioural intention towards using cell/mobile phone in the classroom. The responses were analysed using descriptive statistics. The result indicated that the entire three construct do not significantly influence student's behaviour

Optimization of a Sequence for Multi-Cutting Tool Operations in CNC Machines

    Get PDF
Optimizing the sequence of operations (SOS) is important factor in improving the productivity of machines and reducing the production cost. However, CNC programing packages are available and have been significantly improved program generation for CNC machines, but in most of these packages the SOS optimization is not considered. This paper, introduce an efficient solution to optimized SOS for multi-cutting tools operations located asymmetrically. A well-known genetic algorithm (GA) is utilized to solve the SOS problem. After optimizing SOS, its related CNC program will be generated. The operation locations are considered as cities of Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), and the cutting tool is considered as traveling salesman, by this way, TSP methodology can be modified to formulate the SOS problem. GA and the modified TSP can be incorporated into CNC programming packages to optimize the SOS before the program generation

Analysis of handover based on the use of femtocells in LTE networks

    Get PDF
One of the key elements in the networks LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the possibility of deploying multiple femtocells for the improvement of coverage and data rate. However, arbitrary overlapping coverage of these cells makes the handover mechanism complex and challenging. In this paper, simulations of deploying LTE femtocells in a scenario were evaluated. With this objective, measure impact and correlation of the use of femtocell parameters of QoS (Quality of Service) and handover. Possible limitations of this integration are discussed. Will be the integration of LTE femtocell a panacea? Despite this promising alternative estimates are fraught with uncertainty. The results show that the use of femtocell got worse on indicators of handover, impact on indicators of QoS
