Study of FDI in India
With the start of globalization, many developing countries, mostly those in Asia, are witnessing an huge flow of FDIs during the past two decades. As compared to other Asian countries India witnessed the FDI inflows much later, but ever since India has been a hub and an attractive FDI destination. This research paper purposes to study the impact of FDI on the Indian economy, predominantly after two decades of economic reforms and also the challenges Indian economy is facing to position itself in global FDI space. The analysis provides the major policy implications and also draws attention on the difficulties in inferring FDI data in India
Occupational Stress in Banking Sector of India
In today’s era, there has been heightened awarenessthat job stress contributes to a significant portion of workercompensation claims, health-care cost, disability, absenteeismand productivity loss. Chair stress is a significant and costlyproblem, and that the challenge for all banks to manage workstress in order to reduce health-care cost and improvesproductivity. The important role of occupational health has longbeen highlighted by world health organization. Work plays acentral role in the lives of many people and thus the impact of jobstress is an important issue both for individual employees and theorganization for which they work. Although the mechanismsthrough which the work can cause or contribute to illness arecomplex, there is a strong evidence to indicate that stressexperienced at work can have adverse outcomes for the wellbeing of individual employees. Similarly, this paper analyzes themajor causes of stress to the employee of different gender andage group in the Indian banking. It also determines the variousstrategies followed by the employees to remove their stress. Thestudy is based on the primary data and the likert scale is used tomeasure the response of the employees
K-Nearest-Neighbor-Based Service Broker Policy for Data Center Selection in Cloud Computing Environment
Cloud Computing offers various resources as servicesto the internet users. This arise a very important issue in selectingthe appropriate data center(s) to serve users' requests. One of theimportant components in the cloud computing environment is theservice broker, which's responsible for selecting an adequate datacenter to serve a user request. Many of broker policies areimplemented in the cloud computing environment. AK-Nearest-Neighbor-Based service broker policy for data centerselection in the cloud computing environment is proposed in thispaper. This policy used a list of distinctive features andcharacteristics for each data center and user's request. Theresults show that the proposed policy outperformed therandom-based policy in terms of Average Response Time (ART)and Average Processing Time (APT)
Comparison between Test-Driven Development and Conventional Development: A Case Study
In Software Engineering, different techniques andapproaches are being used nowadays to produce reliablesoftware. The software quality relies heavily on the softwaretesting. However, not all developers are concerned with thetesting stage of a software. This has affected the software qualityand has increased the cost as well. To avoid these issues, researchers paid a lot of effort on finding the best technique thatguarantee the software quality. In this paper we aim to explorethe effectiveness of building test cases using Test-DrivenDevelopment (TDD) technique compared with the conventionaltechnique (Test-last). The comparison measures the effectivenessof test cases with regard to number of defects, code coverage andtest cases development duration between TDD and Test-Last.The results has been analyzes and presented to support the besttechnique. On an average, the effectiveness of test cases withregards to the selected quality factors in Test-DrivenDevelopment (TDD) was better than the conventional technique(Test-last). TDD and conventional testing had nearly the samepercentage as result in code coverage. Moreover, the number ofdefects found and the test cases development duration spent inTDD are high compared with Test-Last. The results led tosuggest some contributions and achievement that could be gainedfrom applying TDD technique in software industry. As usingTDD as development technique in young companies can producehigh quality software in less time
Increase in Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Of Mobile Phone - A Threat to Human
Drastic increase of mobile phone usage increases the concern about the effect of electromagnetic radiation on human brain. During the last decade, several researches were conducted in this area and reported the effect of radiation on brain. Unfortunately most of these findings cannot be reproduced. Findings of a number of studies ascertain that, there is no clear evidence to link the relationship between the adverse effects and mobile phone usage. The reason of the changes observed in human body due to radiation and the causes that leads to non reproducibility of these results has to be investigated. In [1] it is reported that, adverse effect of radiation occurs in cellular level if SAR is much higher. So we tried to study the change in SAR using FDTD simulation by increasing the power of excitation. Frequency range is selected as the specified range of frequency permissible for mobile phone communication. The value of SAR obtained for the above specified range of frequency is found within the permissible limit insisted by ICNIRP/IEEE. But on increasing the magnitude of power of excitation, the magnitude of SAR also increased. It can be concluded that, if the transmitting power is not within the permissible limit, there is a possibility to increase the values of SAR, which may cause health hazards
Dimensionality Reduction Using Latent Variable across the Domains in Recommender System
Dimensionality reduction plays an important role in big data analytics and machine learning for the past decades. While exploring the large volumes of data, it is necessary to perform the larger computation. In order to overcome this, a novel latent variable based dimensionality reduction across the domains in Recommender System (RS) is proposed. Firstly, we define the latent class corresponding to the attributes from two domains and user profiles. Then many-to-one mapping of attributes to a latent class variable is achieved. Finally, the entire data variables are reduced to five latent class variables and sharing the knowledge across the domains. The overall dimensionality reduction is very useful for easy processing of data and reducing the processing time in various applications. Compared with the traditional dimensionality reduction method, the proposed method discovers the hidden variable from the observed variable without any loss of information
Locating Broken-Conductor In HV Transmission Lines
This paper presents An ANN based technique forimproving the performance of distance relays against opencircuitfaults in transmission networks. The technique utilizes thesmall capacitive current measured in the open-phase plus thecurrents in the two healthy phases in calculating the open-circuitfault distance. The results obtained show that a distance relaywith the proposed scheme will not only be able to detect the openconductor condition in HVTL but also to locate the place of thisfault regardless the value of the pre-fault current loading. Thereis no need for especial communication schemes since the existingmedia could work properly for the needs of the proposedtechnique
Pattern Reconfigurable Mimo Antenna
Radiation pattern reconfiguration is a newtechnique for antenna design as it enables the antennas to adaptto different propagation. Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO)antennas are recently more focused in mobile communication. In this paper, a novel dual feed pattern reconfigurable MIMOantenna is designed without using switches. To implement thedesign, a circular Defected Ground Structure (DGS) withconcentric split ring (SR) is employed beneath the signal plane. The signal plane comprises of octagonal ring pattern withorthogonal dual feed arrangement. The operation of theantenna is well analyzed with its reflection coefficient andradiation pattern. The proposed antenna is resonating at samefrequency with different radiation pattern. The prototype isdesigned to be utilized in LTE700 and GSM900 bandsrespectively
