Transportation Infrastructure Upgrading and Green Produc_x005ftion Efficiency in Manufacturing: The Regulatory Effect Based on the Perspective of Financial Constraints
It is of great significance to explore the relationship between transportation infrastructure construction and green development of
manufacturing industry. Based on the panel data of 266 cities in China from 2001 to 2020, this paper conducts a quasi-natural experiment
with the opening of urban high-speed rail, and uses the multi-time point DID model to investigate the impact of the improvement of trans_x005fportation infrastructure conditions on the green production efficiency of urban manufacturing industry in China. The results show that: (1)
The opening of high-speed rail has a significant effect on the overall improvement of green production efficiency of manufacturing industry.
(2) Financial constraints have a moderating effect on the green transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry of transportation
infrastructure. Therefore, in the context of resources and environment increasingly becoming a hard constraint on economic growth, the promotion of green development of manufacturing industry should pay attention to the impact of transportation infrastructure construction and
financial constraints
