A Plan for the Revival of Manufacturing Industries : Reconstruction of Technological Strategy based on the View point of MOT (Management of Technology)

    Get PDF
In recent years,we have worried about the decline of our international competitiveness in economic and industrial fields. The origin of industrial competitiveness is said to be technological innovation, so we hope for the innovative management which creates new industries and promotes MOT. Our country maintained a powerful economy and industrial competitiveness internationally through the 1970s and 1980s. Why have the present dark clouds and the declines which are symbolized by the key words "the lost ten years", occured? We should look back upon the causes which brough about "the lost ten years" frankly and recognize the ability and functions of our country in order to recover and rebuild economic and industrial competitiveness. Nowadays, MOT is considered by new innovative management to be a powerful technique for technology management. In this paper, I would like to describe the general concept of MOT and consider the present conditions and future trends.21KJ00004130024研究論文 一般GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

The new competitive structure of the product development

    Get PDF
It had been a big topic that now we need to do the effort "What to make", not"How to make" for Japanese industries. It is true but still how to make is very important for Japanese industries in the global market place. Because the soft or IP without hardware could not reach to consumer's hand or mouth. And China and other country have been challenging the Japanese core competency: the manufacturing capability and performance. Another important point is that without the right design or the blue print we can not successfully manufacture the product including software and hardware. In other words, how to make or the manufacturing means how to make the right design of the product. In this area Japan should improve and innovate further to overcome the threat by China and Asian countries. From the Business Architecture Concept point of view, there are Modular system and Integral system / Open system and Closed system. However for further innovation of manufacturing system we have to overcome the simple trade off view of such business architecture concept, particularly in the concept of "the modular system vs the integral system". I call it Virtual Vertical Integration, as a solution.23KJ00004130026研究論文 一般GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

The Introduction of Current-value Stock Financing in Japanese Corporations 1970-1990

    Get PDF
In the midst of the prosperity of the Tokyo Stock Market, Japanese corporations began in 1969 to change their financing sources from commercial bank borrowing to direct currentvalue stock financing . In these days, corporations made the best of the stock value increases and raised a great deal of money from stock market, and excessive exports caused "overliquidity-inflation" in Japanese economy. These monies raised were mainly invested in Japanese land, estate and stock in the hope of getting capital gain. It created heavy asset inflations in land, estates and other commodities between 1972 and 1974. At last Japanese Government made these issuing corporations and stock companies refrain from raising so much capital to keep the inflation under control. We can call it a type of corporate governance for the sake of the public interest. This paper discusses whether that administrative corporation governance attained its objective or not.13KJ00004130016研究論文 一般GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

    Alliance Advantage and Logistics

    Get PDF
The evolution in logistics management thinking has progressed from an emphasis on efficiency to one on effectiveness and, further, flexibility and speed. The idea of developing partnerships and alliances has become basic to the best logistics practice for realizing flexibility and speed. Michael Porter, in his book Competitive Advantage , introduced the "value chain", and then Louis J. DeRose introduced the "value network" as a more appropriate metaphor for describing how value is supplied. Logistics is a classic example of a systems approach to business problems. Supply Chain Management (SCM), now prevailing, extends the concept of functional integration beyond a single firm to all the firms in a supply chain.14KJ00004130017研究論文 一般GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

Support Service for Campus Life using Web Based System

    Get PDF
In this research, we built and administered a syllabus registration system, a course registration system, and a portal system for Shikoku University. These are server-side applications using HTTP server. For this reason users can use them regardless of their OS, browser, or hardware. Browing information about the campus is easier now than it's ever been.We think that these systems will be of great benefit to students. In this paper, we give an outline of the system and explain how it works.26KJ00004130029研究論文 一般GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

    Notes on Evolutionary Game Dynamics

    Get PDF
This paper focuses on the mathematical core of evolutionary game dynamics. The biologist Maynard Smith showed that game theory can be applied successfully in biology. Later, evolutionary game theory has found many applications in non-biological fields like economics and learning theory. This paper is based mainly on references [1] and [2] by Hofbauer and Sigmund.30KJ00004130033研究ノートTECHNICAL STUDYjournal articl

Revival of the Regional Economy and the Tourism business

    Get PDF
One of the methods of revitalizing a regional economy is to promote the development of tourism business. The ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Visit Japan Campaign (VJC) kicked off in April 2003. VJC is a strategic program designed to encourage a sharp increase in the number of visitors to Japan from overseas. In comparison to the 16 million Japanese travelling overseas annually, only 5 million foreign tourists visit Japan. The "Inbound Tourism Initiative of Japan" aims to lessen the gap as quickly as possible. The "Strategic Meeting of the Inbound Tourisn Initiative of Japan" was held in February. 1994, and the "Shikoku Members Board"(a 100-menber board), was held on February. 19,2000 in Takamatsu City. The author discusses the meanings of the "Inbound Tourism Initiative of Shikoku and Tokushima", and suggests how to promote the revival of the Shikoku district's economies and industries through a rapid increase in the number of visitors to Shikoku.5KJ00004130008研究論文 地域GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

Historical Change of Criteria of Lease Capitalization and the Views of Assets

    Get PDF
This paper surveys the historical change of criteria of lease capitalization and the views of accets in U.S. accounting standards, focusing upon lesee's accounting treatment. The criteria changed from "equity to property" to "all benefits and risks incident to the ownership of property". Both criteria relied upon the view that the ownership of property was an asset and the principle of " substance over form". However, loopholes were discovered in these past and present accounting standards and they consequently lost their effectiveness. John H . Myers argued that not "the ownership of leased property" but "the right to use the leased property" was an asset to be included in balance sheet of the lesee. (G4 + 1) advocated similar proposals to Myers' assertions. These assertions does not rely upon ambiguous principle of "substance over form" and consequently does not give rise to the seeking of loopholes. Therefore, I support Myers' assertions.19KJ00004130022研究論文 一般GENERAL STUDYjournal articl

    ABC and Management lnnovation

    Get PDF
The Toyota Production System (TPS) and Activity-Based Costing are effective tools for management innovation. Recently, they have been implemented by many manufacturing industries in Japan, and some companies have benefitted greatly from them. This paper argues that it is necessary for top management to always exercise leadership and show strong will in order to execute management innovation.8KJ00004130011研究論文 地域GENERAL STUDYjournal articl
