    Get PDF
The business of raising broilers is one of the biggest contributors to meet people's needs for animal protein. About 70% of production costs are spent by feed. Carrots are one of the potential and multi-use horticultural commodities in livestock as a feed source. In this paper, the first variable that we will adopt is Average Daily Gain (ADG) in broiler chickens. Then the second variable is the juice of carrot tuber (Daucus carota L.). Responding to these problems, the authors propose an idea to find alternative feeds to enlarge ADG in broiler chickens. The procedure of the study is a 100 broiler chickens (since the age of 1 day) during the first week intensively maintained at the brooder cage. In the second week then divided into 5 groups, consisting of 1 control group and 4 treatment groups each replicating 20 chickens by randomization according to treatment. The conversion calculation of the dose of carrot administration is 17.5 ml/head/day

Indonesia ranks number one in the world for the level of rice consumption reaching 124 kg per capita per year. In fact, the amount of rice in Indonesia are decreasing because of environmental factors. Meanwhile, the population growth rate in Indonesia are increasing with an average growth rate of 1.43% per year which leads to the increasing demands of rice. Food diversification could be a solution to tackle this problem. It can be done by processing breadfruit into flour and make it as noodle. Breadfruit flour contains high nutrient that makes it potential to be an alternative for the substituent of staple food. It contains 302 calories of energy and 78.9 g of carbohydrate. The main processes are immersion, drying, milling and straining. As a result, breadfruit noodle could be an alternative staple food in Indonesia so that Indonesia will not only depend on rice as its staple food

The study that was carried out in winter-spring 2018 in Thoai Son, An Giang province, include experiments: Effects of (AWDI) to (i) Characters in soil; (ii) rice yield and (iii) water use and water use efficiency of Jasmine rice. The experiment was carried out with 4 treatments, 4 replications. The treatments ranged from continuous submergence (NT1) of the field to a number of delayed irrigations (NT2, NT3, NT4) denoting application of 4 cm irrigation water when water level in the perforated PVC pipe fell 18, 14 and 10 cm below ground level. The study revealed that NT1 attributed by the highest total water use (118 cm) and the lowest WUE (60.3 kg/ha/cm) produced the highest grain yield (8,10 t/ha). On the contrary, the yields in NT3 (6.80 t/ha) and NT2 (5.80 t/ha) were significantly lower at 0,5 times level of significance compared to that of NT1 and NT4 (7.83 t/ha)
