    Get PDF
Most of distribution network models uses cost minimation as its objective function. The system which will be analyzed in this study is the distribution process of 3 kg LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) in West Sumatra, Indonesia. This study will try to develop a distribution model of LPG from the agents (distributor) to retailer which represented by the district. The distribution network model between distributor and districts is used to determine the optimal number of distributor, the location of the distributor and the covering area of each distributor with the objective function is to balance the profit.

The instructional model for achieving desired learning outcomes under Thai Qualifications Framework for lies at the core of the educational quality assurance, which requires the integrated instruction, variety of teaching methods and the authentic assessment. This study was classroom action research aiming to examine the effectiveness of the implementation of cooperative learning on the ability to apply nursing theory, learning outcomes under Thai Qualifications instruction at Prachomklao College of Nursing, Phetchaburi Province, Thailand. It was applied with 68 second-year students in Bachelor of Nursing Science Bachelor Program. The data were analyzed by mean, percentage and content analysis. The results showed that cooperative learning consisting of various instructional methods: participatory lectures, group activities, self- study, case study analysis, mind mapping and chapter-end exercise contests had enabled learners to achieve good learning performance along with greater ability to apply nursing theory.

The development of communication and computer technology is growing rapidly. Meanwhile computer crime is also developed along with the development of this digital world. The information technology usage in the higher education institution is not immune from computer crime. Higher education institutions collect data from the public for the benefit of educational activities that make the institution also has a strategic data that must be protected, therefore the computer crime law is needed. The Indonesian government has carried out a computer crime law in anticipation of computer crime in Indonesia as well as responds to public anxiety over security in the use of information technology. This paper describes the implementation of the Indonesia computer crime act UU ITE 11, 2008 as a computer crime prevention method in higher education institution in Indonesia

A Review of Vancomycin Population Pharmacokinetic Studies in Adult Critically Ill Patient

    Get PDF
Background Efficacy of vancomycin, the most recommended anti!M RSA antibiotics, was best represented with AUC24/MIC>400 which was greatly determined by pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamics parameters. Giving a standard dose of vancomycin to any populations with deviated pharmacokinetic parameters, as found in the critically ill population, will impact on the achievement of AUC24 and MIC coverage. Objective This review was conducted to investigate the profile of critically ill adult PK parameters and examine the effects of the different PK parameters to the achievement of AUC24 and maximum MIC coverage. Method Literature search was conducted using PubMed and Trip Database from the database inception to July 2012. Published articles which present the critically ill population PK equation model will be included in the review. Reference case analysis will be used to calculate the PK parameters, AUC24, and maximum MIC coverage. Result There were 5 critically ill adult population PK studies met the inclusion criteria. Each study shows specific PK equation model for Vd and CL. Only 4 studies were included in the reference case analysis.

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to investigate the existence of barriers to international investment in Indonesia by examining whether foreign investors prefer specific firm characteristics. This research used sample from 198 active stocks traded in Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2011. Regression analysis is employed to investigate the relationship of firm characteristics and foreign ownership. The result shows that foreign investors prefer firms with low dividend yield and high current ratio, meanwhile there is no evidence that foreign investors prefer large size, low leveraged, and low book to market firms. These findings imply that some information asymmetry barriers in Indonesia have reduced, meanwhile specific explicit barrier, high foreign dividend tax, still exists in Indonesia.

Effects of Fermentation and Storage on Antioxidant Activities of Buffalo and Goat Milk Products

    Get PDF
Fermentation of milk enhances its nutritional values through improved bioavailability of nutrients and production of substances including bioactive peptides, which have biological functions. The goals of this research were to study the effect of fermentation and storage on antioxidant activity of buffalo and goat yogurts.Samples of buffalo milk, goat milk and their yogurts were determined for proximate analysis and bioactive activity including antioxidant activities of DPPH, ABTS, reducing power and superoxide assays during the fermentation and their storage. Results showed that buffalo and goat yogurts had antioxidant activities of all assays and their activities significantly increased during their fermentation. However, the activities of both products remained unchange during the storage time of 21 days at 4oC. It can conclude that the antioxidant activity could be found in buffalo and goat yoghurts and the activities were affected by fermentation. The fermentation would lead to protein digestion in milk to produce short chains of amino acids acting as bioactive peptides and lactic acid production possibly responsible for antioxidant activity.

This study concerned on an exploration regarding economic evaluation of health care-related researches in Southeast Asian countries from the published articles. Its aim was to describe the situation of economic evaluation of health care-related researches conducted in Southeast Asian countries from the published articles and explores a brief of the methodology applied in the studies. A literature search was conducted in September 2012 using the Medline electronic database with the PubMed interface. A combination of MeSH terms of employed. Limitation was set for articles published at last 10 years in English language. Out of 306 records, 83 eligible articles were retrieved and reviewed. It was found that the studies had been conducted in eight of eleven countries in the region and one study conducted across the region. Thailand had the greatest number of publications (34), followed by Singapore (17). The number of articles regarding economic evaluation of health care-related in Southeast Asian countries increased over the time. The capacity of local researchers both in number and the role as first/correspondence author was more than of researchers from outside the country. Most of the authors were affiliated with the university and hospital. Most of studies that revealed the funding source got the funding support from international sources. The economic evaluation methods mostly used were COI and CA (65%), while there was also a consideration number of the use of CEA (13%) and CUA (17%) in the studies. From the studies reviewed, infectious diseases and chronic diseases were the most issues on economic evaluation of health care-related in Southeast Asian countries. The review give conclusion that such economic information is gaining importance in policy decision making for the particular setting in Southeast Asia country. A consideration number of studies on economic evaluation of health care-related in Southeast Asian countries gives possibility of using or adopting the economic evidences as well as the methodologies to be applied in other settings across the region.

Purpose: To presents a literature review of patient safety in nursing to achieve quality that may contribute in nursing care. Method The research articles were reviewed from electronic databases including Science Direct, CINAHL, Pub med, Pro Quest and from relevant textbooks was conducted. The numbers of keywords were used including patient safety, PDCA, Six sigma, HFMEA, RCA. Result: The findings showed that harm from both actual and potential risks that could harm patients during treatment. There are several dimensions adopted by hospitals to effectively manage patient safety, such as building safety culture, leading and supporting staff, integrating risk management activity, promoting report writing, involving and sharing safety lessons and implementation of solutioharm. Moreover, unsafe situation can occur in a Microsystem in nursing care that is from the immediate environment, where nurse and patient interaction occurs. Failure in the nursing care process result in material losses, increased length of stay, disability and death. Patient safety research has been undertaken in different ways such as retrospective review of medical records, survey or cross-sectional study, qualitative study including focus group discussion, ethnography, mixed method and intervention. Furthermore, to achieve patient safety, many tools have been used such as PDCA cycle, six sigma model, Health Failure Mode Effect Analysis (HFMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and SIMPLE model.
