The process of making traditional batik tulis still through the manual process, the first step is mencanting (make the pattern on the fabric), pencelupan (dip for coloring), dan penjemuran (drying). The work attitude of batik workers is sitting on a small chair without backrest and doing mencanting activities for 6 hours even more. Many factors can caused the incidence of muscle pain in batik workers such as working in a wrong position or unnatural and doing activities in a monotonous position. This research is a quantitative research using cross sectional research design. The instrument used Nordic Body Map questionnaire and a physical examination to identify musculoskeletal system conditions on batik tulis workers was carried out by the physiotherapist with a palpation test. The study sample consisted of 50 workers using the total population in Batik Berkah Lestari. The characteristics of batik workers are the average age of workers 49.8 years, BMI 22.9, working period of 30.54 years. Nordic Body Map results, from 28 parts of the body, 80% of workers suffered from musculoskeletal pain in the left upper arm, with a percentage of 6% feeling very pain, 30% pain and 44% slightly pain. In the right upper arm 74% of workers suffered from it, with 40% were slightly pain, 26% were pain, and 8% were very pain. On the physical examination, 44% of batik workers experienced scoliosis and 32% had lordosis

In 2001, mobile phone users were only 20% of the world’s population, but the number of mobile phone users has dramatically increased to almost 100% of the world’s population in 2017. The rapid change of technology has also brought the rapid change in lifestyles of people. For instance, smartphones have become one of the most useful devices in modern society. However, using a smartphone can be vulnerable to higher technology-crime victimization. Therefore, it is interesting to study smartphone using risk behaviors of being a cybercrime victim. This quantitative research was conducted by collecting data from the samples of 400 Kasetsart University, Bang Khen Campus, students selected by using stratified sampling method. The data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed by using descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation and referential statistics including t-test and F-test. The results show that place of birth of smartphone users caused a significant difference in risk behaviors for cybercrime victimization at the significant level of 0.05, meanwhile, gender, age, faculty, and residence did not cause any significant difference in risk behaviors. In addition, it was found that the number of smartphones, number of phone number in service, smartphone using duration, smartphone using duration for social media, and smartphone operation system caused some significant differences in risk behaviors for cybercrime victimization. There were 3 risk behaviors in a rather high level for being a victim of cybercrime including (1) careless smartphone using that makes it easy to be stolen, (2) setting up auto - log in for many applications, and (3) using public wifi to get an access to the internet. However, most of the risk behaviors for cybercrime victimization of the sampled smartphone users were found at a rather low level

Yunan’s Pu’er tea has a very long history in China, partly due to the unique geographical climate, unique big leaf species tea and the world-famous “tea ma gu dao” which makes the contemporary pu’er tea. This study explores how customers of Tae brand perceive and react to their products and services, and thus can use the finding to suggest a structured consumer-oriented strategy for the tea markets in China. Tae brand is widely recognized in China for the supply of quality pu’er tea which is the focus of this research. The present study develops a conceptual framework which adapts the “general” and “specific” domains of stimuli in the study of consumer behavior and brand perceptions, being motivated towards a more holistic view. The “general” domain studies the roles played by tea-consumption benefits and consumer decision-making styles. By “specific”, this research focuses on both marketing and brand stimulus factors. Samples were drawn conveniently from customers who have had purchased Tae brand. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is used for the multivariate statistical analysis

    Get PDF
Over a few decades, motivation has been one of the key areas in second language research. Dörnyei (2009) proposed L2 Motivational Self System (L2MSS), related to the relationship between motivation and the self-concepts. Several studies were conducted to prove it, but there are a few experimental studies adopted this concept to develop classroom activities. The study set off to investigate to what extent self-imaging activities affects the motivation of low-motivated Thai English as a foreign language (EFL) learners. Self-imaging activities were developed as the treatment with an aim of enhancing the motivation of the EFL learners. The participants were 60 low-motivated EFL learners, equally divided into experimental and control groups. They were asked to answer a pre-post 6-point Likert motivation questionnaire, but only the experimental group was provided 10 self-imaging activities. A dependent and an independent t-test were conducted to compare the mean scores, the level of motivation obtained from the pre-post motivation questionnaire within and between groups. In addition, the participants’ behaviors were scored and then converted through percentage to examine the motivational behaviors resulted from the treatment. The study revealed that after the self-imaging activities, the motivation of the experimental group was higher than before the activities and higher than the control group. This was consistent with the motivational behaviors. This study shed light on the development of classroom activities related to self-images to promote the motivation in learning English.

The globalization, caused by the rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), is becoming an inevitable trend in the present world. The developed part of our human society, not the whole world, is undergoing a fundamental transition from a knowledge-based economy to a knowledge-based society. Globalization is not a new phenomena in 21st century, but the impact could spread in all perspectives. Youth or adolescent as the vulnerable group which could not control the speed or directions of the social change as the impact of globalization. Hence, the globalization mostly impacted to the youth or adolescent group. This paper study about the attitude and future perspective on globalization among 9th and 12th grade students who enrolled with English Program in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. The researchers took this level which has the range age for the youth group. This study using primary data which collected 124 of 9th grade students and 201 of 12th grade students. The research results indicated that the respondents from 12th grades were more willing to live in big cities and that traditional music styles are neither popular nor attractive anymore. Among the participating adolescent students, big cities such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, etc. are more attractive for them. The willing of migration is higher than 72% in 12th grade students. Sustainable development in the agricultural based region needs contributions from the locals. However, the willings of migration might act against this participation.

Analysis of Exchange Rate Fluctuation Using Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) From 2010 to 2015

    Get PDF
Exchange rate in the last few years has been fluctuating highly. A number of variables were used in this research to analyze which variable has impact on exchange rate. The variables used were export, import, money supply and Bank Indonesia rate, for the period of January 2010 until September 2015, utilizing Vector error correction model or VECM estimation method. The results indicate that in the long-run, some variables such as import and money supply have significant correlations to ER with positive and negative impact respectively, while export and BI rate have no significant correlation to ER with negative and positive impact respectively. In the short-run, all variables bear significant influence on ER except money supply, whereas import, money supply and BI rate maintain a positive relationship with the ER. Meanwhile, export has a negative influence on ER. For impulse response and forecast error variance decomposition, the variable which induced the most shock to exchange rate was import.
