But key changes in the information, technology, economic, and scholarly environments are challenging this relationship and raising critical questions about the value and impact of the library in scholarship and its working relationship with scholars in the social sciences. Biblioteka zawsze była najważniejszym partnerem w procesie badawczym. Ale kluczowe zmiany w informacji, technologiach, gospodarce i środowisku nauki stanowią wyzwanie dla tych relacji i kreują istotne pytania dotyczące wartości biblioteki i jej wpływu na środowisko akademickie, jak również na funkcjonujące relacje z naukowcami reprezentującymi nauki społeczne

Full text linkThe article covers issues concerning the functionality of the SOWA2/MARC21 andSOWA2SQL library systems and shows the various system implementations in libraries. The article indicates the hosting service offered by Sokrates-software, the software vendor, as well as the various support services it provides for libraries. The article discusses the system innovation issues and the Polish nationwide internet portal w.bibliotece.pl. The article also describes up-to-date search tools available in the OPAC catalogues of the SOWA2SQL system.W artykule omówiono zagadnienia związane z funkcjonalnością systemów bibliotecznych SOWA2/MARC21 i SOWA2SQL oraz pokazano różnorodność wdrożeń oprogramowania w bibliotekach. Zwrócono uwagę na usługi hostingowe, oferowane przez dostawcę oprogramowania Sokrates-software oraz świadczone przez niego różne formy wsparcia dla bibliotekarzy. Przedstawiono kwestie innowacyjności systemów i ogólnopolskiego portalu w.bibliotece.pl. Omówiono również nowoczesne narzędzia wyszukiwawcze, dostępne w katalogach OPAC systemu SOWA2SQL

Dokk1: Współtworzenie jako nowy sposób pracy w bibliotekach
Full text linkThe article presents Dokk1, a library in Aarhus, as an example of a modern hybrid library of new generation. The Dokk1 library is being co-created by its users, partners and stakeholders. It exemplifies an open and flexible space equipped with attractive technology that spurs library users to be part of the place. Due to the employment of new work methods based on project thinking the co-creation constitutes a part of the process of new services development and interior design as well as a new style of working for librarians. Dokk1 is a library for people, not for books. It is an example of a change in the development process of libraries, a shift of importance point from library holdings to citizens. In a citizens-oriented library co-creation occurs in various areas such as: 1) new work style, i.e. conversion into a project-based library, 2) open space that enables cooperation of citizens, partners and the library, 3) technology used in a way that shows that the library belongs to its users. Artykuł przedstawia bibliotekę z Aarhus – Dokk1 jako przykład współczesnej biblioteki hybrydowej nowej generacji. Biblioteka Dokk1 jest współtworzona przez użytkowników, partnerów i zainteresowane jej istnieniem strony. Jest to również przykład otwartej, elastycznej przestrzeni bibliotecznej, w której zastosowana technologia zachęca użytkowników, aby stali się częścią tego miejsca. Dzięki wdrożeniu nowych metod pracy, opartych na myśleniu projektowym, współtworzenie jest również częścią procesu rozwoju nowych usług i aranżacji przestrzeni, a także nowym sposobem pracy dla pracowników biblioteki. Dokk1 jest biblioteką dla ludzi, nie dla książek. Stanowi przykład zmiany w procesie rozwoju bibliotek, przesunięcie punktu ważności z zasobów bibliotecznych na obywateli. W bibliotece ukierunkowanej na obywateli współtworzenie odbywa się w różnych obszarach, takich jak: 1) nowy sposób pracy, tj. przekształcenie się w bibliotekę opartą na projektowaniu, 2) otwarta przestrzeń, która umożliwia obywatelom, partnerom i bibliotece wspólną działalność, 3) technologia, której zastosowanie podkreśla, że biblioteka należy do użytkowników
Upowszechnianie dorobku naukowego w repozytoriach i bazach danych – działania komplementarne czy konkurencyjne?
Full text linkStreszczenie: Celem artykułu jest analiza trybu upowszechniania dorobku naukowego poprzez repozytoria i bazy danych, co w efekcie ma dać odpowiedź na pytanie o komplementarność bądź konkurencyjność działań odnoszących się do udostępniania dokumentów. Przedstawiono rodzaje obiektów archiwizowanych w obu typach serwisów, mechanizmy wzmacniające widoczność dorobku oraz efekty indeksacji zasobów cyfrowych w sieci w postaci wskaźników ich wykorzystania. Poruszono temat mediów społecznościowych intensyfikujących dystrybucję informacji o zasobach, jak również związane z nim zagadnienie agregacji danych altmetrycznych. Abstract: This article attempts to analyse the modes of dissemination of information on academic and scientific output via institutional repositories and data bases and is to show whether actions related to the above document distribution solutions and their flexibility and effectiveness complement or compete with each other in enhancing access to resources. Types of archived items in both types of services and relevant mechanisms that enhance visibility of scientific output are presented as well as the effects of indexing digital resources available in the network in the form of resource usage indicators. Additionally, the article raises the question of the role of social media in intensification and dissemination of information on resources and the associated issue of the aggregation of data provided by altmetrics.
BazEkon – bogactwo wiedzy i możliwości
Full text linkStreszczenie: Celem dziedzinowej bazy BazEkon jest zaspokojenie potrzeb informacyjnych użytkowników w zakresie dostępu do literatury z obszaru nauk ekonomicznych i pokrewnych oraz promocja dorobku polskiej myśli naukowej. Odbiorcami bazy są głównie studenci, doktoranci i pracownicy naukowi polskich uczelni oraz pracownicy instytutów badawczych i instytutów naukowych PAN. Ze względu na otwarty charakter bazy i tematykę grono odbiorców stale się poszerza. BazEkon oprócz wspomagania wydawców przy zasilaniu POL-indexu stanowi również reklamę dla ich czasopism, dzięki otwartemu dostępowi i indeksowaniu zasobów m.in. w Google Scholar i Google. W referacie zostaną zaprezentowane nowe rozwiązania, których zastosowanie zwiększyło możliwości eksportu danych w różnych formatach oraz przyspieszyło proces przekazywania plików przez wydawców.Abstract: The aim of the BazEkon database is to satisfy the information needs for users in terms of the scientific literature in the field of economic sciences and related subjects promote in this regard the achievements of Polish scientific forethought. The databases recipients are mainly students, graduate students, PhD’s and all scientific staff of Polish universities and research and development institutes. Nevertheless, due to the open access to the variety of subjects covered by the database, the number of costumers is constantly growing. The database can also be a valuable source of information for employees of different industries and businesses. In addition BazEkon may assist publishers to upload publishing data to governmental system calls POL-index, simultaneously the database can be a form of advertising itself due to the open access and indexing via Google Scholar, Google. Finally, new available solutions obtainable in the database will be presented
