Role of hydrogen-enrichment for in-direct diesel engine behaviours fuelled with the diesel-waste biodiesel blends
Carbon footprint indicates the total amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere by individuals, institutions and countries. The widespread use of fossil fuels is a big player which increases the carbon footprint. Therefore, switching to sustainable alternatives in energy production and consumption is an effective step in combating climate change, as well as efforts to prevent the depletion of fossil fuels. In this regard, although biodiesels offer a solution to the depletion of fossil fuels, with this advantage, the effects of production processes and use on environmental sustainability should be taken into consideration. Many scientific studies have shown that engine performance remains below standards with biodiesel. The availability of hydrogen as an energy carrier in cylinder to overcome the above -mentioned negative situations has recently become a popular topic for fuel researchers. In this work, the diesel-biodiesel fuels were blended proportionally and tested on a threecylinder water-cooled in -direct diesel engine at varying loads (15, 30, 45, and 60 Nm) and a constant engine speed of 2200 rpm for observing the effects of test fuels on combustion, performance, and emissions characteristics of diesel engine. First of all, conventional diesel fuel (D) was used to obtain reference data, and then B20 fuel obtained by mixing waste cooking oil with 20 % by volume of diesel fuel was used. The remaining 4 fuels are test fuels obtained by giving hydrogen from the intake manifold at different flow rates (10, 20, 30, and 40 L/min) in addition to B20 fuel. These fuels are called B20 + 10 Lpm H 2 , B20 + 20 Lpm H 2 , B20 + 30 Lpm H 2 and B20 + 40 Lpm H 2 , respectively. As a result, the BSFC of B20 fuel increased by 8.78 % compared to diesel fuel, and then the addition of hydrogen dropped the BSFC value by 8.8 %, 13.02 %, 17.16 %, and 22.12 % for B20 + 10 Lpm H 2 , B20 + 20 Lpm H 2 , B20 + 30 Lpm H 2 , and B20 + 40 Lpm H 2 , respectively. Hydrogen enrichment also had a positive impact on BTE. Although the BTE dropped by 6.14 % in B20 fuel compared to diesel, it increased by 4.51 %, 5.05 %, 5.62 %, and 7.12 % in B20 + 10 Lpm H 2 , B20 + 20 Lpm H 2 , B20 + 30 Lpm H 2 and B20 + 40 Lpm H 2 fuels, respectively. The addition of 10, 20, 30, and 40 Lpm H 2 to B20 fuel reduced NOx emissions by 31.25 %, 33.08 %, 38.87 %, and 41.46 %, respectively, and also reduced CO emissions by 17.47 %, 30.73 %, 51.8 % and 59.04 % respectively.Duzce University Scientific Research Projects Coordination [2022.06.05.1276]; Duzce UniversityThis present work is being funded by Duzce University Scientific Research Projects Coordination with the project number 2022.06.05.1276. MIL, SIL and PIL Implementation for Closed Loop Control ofFlyback Converter
Power electronic systems are rapidly evolving; thus, effective prototyping methods are required to test control algorithms and assess system performance prior to hardware implementation. This research suggests a Model-In-The-Loop (MIL), Software-In-The-Loop (SIL), and Processor-In-The-Loop (PIL) methodologies-based complete prototyping strategy for flyback converters using the TIF28069M Launchpad kit. These techniques can be combined to evaluate control strategies accurately and quickly, speeding up design cycles and enhancing system reliability. The proposed prototyping platform is presented in this work, along with a thorough explanation of each prototyping stage and its associated advantages. The effectiveness of the suggested approachfor 50W rated power flyback converter in terms of quick algorithm development, system simulation, real-time control implementationand controller design accuracy isanalyzed andshown by experimental results. The results show that the performance of the designed controller for the flyback converter is almost the same as in MIL and SIL implementation in terms of the overshoot and settling time in the reference voltage tracking. On the other hand, in the PIL implementation, the overshoot performance of the controller deviates by 1.18% more than in SIL and MIL implementation. These alsoconfirm thatthe flyback control system's performance isreliable and effective during all phases of development
Quantum symmetric integral inequalities for convex functions
In the context of quantum symmetric calculus, this study proposed more refined version of Ostrowski and Hermite-Hadamard type inequalities. The function involved in these inequalities are convex functions. In order to reach the target, left and right quantum symmetric derivative and corresponding integral are used. Furthermore, the H & ouml;lder inequality is established in the frame work of left and right quantum symmetric integral. The new results refined the results about integral inequalities that exist in the literature.Ammara Nosheen: Conceptualization; investigation. Sana Ijaz: Writing-original draft. Utilization of Recycled Brick Powder as Supplementary Cementitious Materials-A Comprehensive Review
Over the past two decades, extensive research has been conducted to explore alternative supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in order to address the environmental concerns associated with the cement industry. Bricks, which are frequently preferred in the construction sector, generate a lot of waste during the production and demolition of existing buildings, requiring environmentally sustainable recycling practices. Therefore, many studies have been carried out in recent years on the use of brick waste as supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in cement mortar and concrete production. This critical review evaluates the impact of waste brick powder (WBP) on the mechanical and durability properties of mortar and concrete when used as a partial replacement for cement. It was observed that the properties of WBP-blended cement mortar or concrete depend on several factors, including WBP particle size, replacement ratio, pozzolanic activity, and mineralogical structure. The findings indicate that WBP with a particle size range of 100 mu m to 25 mu m, with a maximum cement replacement level of 10-20%, exhibits a positive impact on the compressive strength of both mortars and concretes. However, it is crucial to emphasize that a minimum curing duration of 28 days is imperative to facilitate the development of a pozzolanic reaction. This temporal requirement plays a vital role in realizing the optimal benefits of utilizing waste brick powder as a supplementary cementitious material in mortars and concretes

Optimal planning of hybrid power systems under economic variables and different climatic regions: A case study of Türkiye
Renewable energy-based hybrid power systems (HPS), proposed based on demand in the transition to clean energy-indexed societies, are high-potential investments. However, cost-based optimal sizing and feasibility analyses are complicated due to unforeseen variables and do not guarantee a reliable and robust optimization framework. This study optimizes minimum-cost HPS planning for diverse loads across varied climates and economic conditions, providing holistic comparisons of technical, financial, and environmental viability. According to the analysis, fluctuating economic structure emphasizes that unsubsidized hybrid power system installations are inefficient, the severe imbalance between inflation and interest rates limits the benefits of hybrid power systems and creates an uncertain investment environment for stakeholders. The gradual increase in interest rates to limit inflation has created a more viable renewable energy investment environment, while payback periods are reduced to 7.21 years. Even under identical economic conditions, the renewable fraction of energy in regions with high solar potential can be up to 25 % higher than in regions with less potential. Moreover, payback periods can vary up to 6 years, depending on the variability in solar generation and load profiles. Considering the significant impact of economic uncertainty on HPS investments, optimization plans that reduce investment risks will be helpful to stakeholders

Understanding the shape effect on the structural, energetic, magnetic, and pressure properties of the 38 atom-Co-Fe-Pd nanoalloys using Gupta and DFT calculations
The alloy of magnetic metals with noble metals plays a key role in showing the magnetism of 3d metals and the catalytic properties of noble metals. A growing body of evidence suggests that 38 atoms is one of the most critical sizes for Ih and TO motifs. This study analyses the roles played by the shape effect on the structures, energies, magnetism, and pressures of Co6FenPd32-n (n = 0-32) nanoalloys and provides evidence regarding this phenomenon. Therefore, this study should be of value to researchers wishing to conduct future experimental and theoretical studies on the catalytic, electronic, optical, and magnetic properties of nanoalloys
