Get PDFIn the Abkhazian language most words designating remedies and illnesses are compounds. In the most cases the key word a-x˚š˚ ‘medicine’ is present in their structure. As for their structure, word combinations can be divided into different nominal models consisting of Noun + Noun, Noun + Adjective and mixed forms. The mixed ones consist of Noun and Verb. The given lexical layer represents an innovation in the Abkhazian language and is constantly developing (the same concerns the whole medical terminology of the Abkhazian language).In the Abkhazian language most words designating remedies and illnesses are compounds. Get PDFThe article investigates the phono-typological closeness of linguistic objects by the Chi-square criterion. Any dialect or language is considered to be a linguistic object. The Chi-square distance is based on the typology of the structure of the speech sound chains in languages and dialects. The total of the speech sound chains comprises a phonetic picture of a language. The typological distances on the phonetic level between the linguistic objects have been built on the basis of threshold value of the TMB coefficient.The article investigates the phono-typological closeness of linguistic objects by the Chi-square criterion. Get PDFIt is possible to prove the authorship with the help of some methods of mathematical linguistics, e.g. that of «Chi-criterion». Based on the frequency of occurrence of simple prepositions in the text it was proved that Bahtin's texts were not written by Voloshinov or Medvedev. This result may stop the endless discussions of the authorship of the texts by Bahtin.It is possible to prove the authorship with the help of some methods of mathematical linguistics, e.g. that of «Chi-criterion».
