    28. Engineering a High-Performance Remote Controlled Rover Balancing, Durability, Efficiency, and Modularity

    No full text
The advancement of remote-controlled (RC) vehicle technology has significant implications for extraterrestrial exploration and terrestrial applications. This research project aims to design, develop, and test an advanced RC vehicle for participation in NASA\u27s Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC), specifically within the Remote Operated Vehicular Research (ROVR) division. Utilizing an engineering design methodology, the project follows an iterative process of conceptualization, prototyping, testing, and refinement to develop a highly functional and reliable RC vehicle. The research objectives include enhancing vehicle durability, optimizing terrain navigation capabilities, and integrating mechanisms for scientific task execution such as sample collection and environmental monitoring. The methodology involves a systematic literature review, computer-aided design (CAD) modeling, prototype development, and physical trials under controlled conditions. The expected outcomes include the development of a robust RC vehicle capable of traversing complex terrains while performing mission-relevant tasks with precision. Findings from this research will contribute to the broader field of remote vehicle operation, offering potential applications in planetary exploration, search-and-rescue operations, and automated field research.https://dc.swosu.edu/rf_2025/1018/thumbnail.jp

    Weaving Wikipedia’s Middle-earth Web

J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth fantasy writing has become extremely popular, and has been extensively studied by scholars. Part of the demand for information on the subject is met by Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia with a large readership. I have extended its coverage of Middle-earth subjects to more than 200 Good Articles, divided roughly equally between in-universe subjects such as “Aragorn” and more scholarly subjects such as “Heroism in The Lord of the Rings”. Each article is required to stand alone as a notable topic in its own right, as demonstrated by its citations to reliable sources. Other sites like Tolkien Gateway offer rich detail on Middle-earth topics, but do not provide scholarly analysis or cite independent sources. I have supported the cited text with tables and diagrams to present the information visually to a general audience, and interconnected the articles into a single web with hypertext links. Millions of readers view Wikipedia’s Middle-earth material each month

    31. Evaluating Early Outcomes of a Pharmacist-Led Point of Care Testing Service in a Free Healthcare Clinic

    No full text
The Agape Medical Clinic is a bimonthly free healthcare clinic and pharmacy located in Weatherford, Oklahoma. The clinic received a “Point of Care Enhancing Clinical Effectiveness Grant” in Fall 2022, which enabled it to offer laboratory services such as Urinalysis; Strep, Flu, or COVID testing; HbA1c levels; and Lipid profiles. This provides real-time, objective information to clinic practitioners and patients. The objective of this study was to evaluate the early outcomes of pharmacist-led point of care testing (POCT) on numbers of patients served, test results, and impact on healthcare delivery.https://dc.swosu.edu/rf_2025/1024/thumbnail.jp

    06. Analyzing Epic Global Solutions-Digital Marketing Strategies Effectiveness in Combating Sports Gambling Risks

    No full text
This study explores the marketing strategies employed by EPIC Global Solutions to raise awareness about the dangers of sports betting. Highlighting the work of the Epic Global Solutions and their principle “Through lived experience, we deliver solutions to help prevent the destructive effects of gambling-related harm” the study amplifies the efforts of EPIC Global Solutions to prevent the growth of gambling in both collegiate and professional sports. To assess the effectiveness of these efforts, we identified the analytics of their social media engagement which aims to spread awareness about the detrimental effects of sports gambling. Through focusing on their promotional tactics, message framing, audience engagement, and the impact of their content on raising awareness about the risks associated with sports betting. Findings suggest that EPIC\u27s marketing efforts, while impactful, face challenges in addressing misconceptions and resistance within the sports community. The study emphasizes the need for continued refinement of digital marketing tactics to expand reach and foster deeper engagement with at-risk audiences.https://dc.swosu.edu/rf_2025/1004/thumbnail.jp

    05. Advertising AI Software in Video Games

    No full text
Marketing around AI in video games often leads to positive expectations, with developers promoting AI features as groundbreaking innovations that promise to revolutionize gameplay. However, players frequently find these promises fall short. For example, AI-generated content is marketed as dynamic and ever-evolving, but in practice, it can often feel repetitive and lacking depth. Games touting “smarter” AI opponents promise adaptive behavior, yet many players find these enemies follow predictable patterns that don\u27t offer the challenging or immersive experience they were led to expect. A study by Tschang and Gable (2021) highlighted that while AI is marketed as offering highly intelligent and responsive opponents, players frequently encounter predictable behaviors that undermine the immersive experience. Similarly, the allure of AI-driven procedural worlds is sometimes exaggerated, with games claiming endless possibilities, but many of these worlds can end up feeling mechanically generated and devoid of unique, engaging content.https://dc.swosu.edu/rf_2025/1002/thumbnail.jp
