Multicultural Education Practices and Socio-Religious Values: The Study of Trans-Dalam Community in Central Kalimantan of Indonesia
Get PDFThis article describes the practice of multiculturalism education among local migrant communities with Trans-Dalam community in Pulang Pisau regency, Kalimantan Tengah province, Indonesia, as its focus of analysis. It asks the question about how Trans-Dalam community members with diverse social and religious backgrounds develop multicultural practices in their daily lives. The required data were collected through in-depth interviews and observation. This article argues that Trans-Dalam villagers preserve and conduct multicultural ideas and practices as seen in their day-to-day harmonious communal life due to their shared local values and wisdom. Inspired by their own expressions of shared social-religious values, each community of different ethnic background develops these multicultural practices, which are closely connected to their need for security as settlers with diverse social-cultural backgrounds that make them aware of the importance of living in harmony, mutual respect, and solidarity regardless of their differences in ethnicity, place of origin or religion
PENGUATAN LITERASI BARU PADA GURU MADRASAH IBTIDAIYAH DALAM MENJAWAB TANTANGAN ERA REVOLUSI INDUSTRI 4.0
Get PDFAbstract: In answering the fourth industrial revolution era, basic Islamic education institutions did not adequately apply old literacy (reading, writing, arithmetic), but had to apply new literacy (data literacy, technology literacy and human resource literacy or humanism). This article discusses the challenges and opportunities of basic Islamic education in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. Strengthening new literacy in Islamic elementary education teachers as a key to change, revitalizing literacy-based curriculum and strengthening the role of teachers who have digital competencies. The teacher plays a role in building competency generation, character, having new literacy skills, and high-level thinking skills. Islamic elementary education as a basis for determining intellectual, spiritual, and emotional intelligence in children must strengthen 21st century literacy skills. Start creative aspects, critical thinking, communicative, and collaborative. Islamic elementary education is urgently needed to strengthen new literacy and revitalize digital-based curriculum. Curriculum revitalization refers to five basic values of good students, namely resilience, adaptability, integrity, competence, and continuous improvement. Islamic elementary education educators must be digital teachers, understand computers, and be free from academic illness. The goal is to realize high competency generation, character and literacy to answer the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution era.
Abstrak: Dalam menjawab era Revolusi Industri 4.0, lembaga pendidikan dasar Islam tidak cukup menerapkan literasi lama (membaca, menulis, berhitung), tetapi harus menerapkan literasi baru (literasi data, literasi teknologi dan literasi sumber daya manusia atau humanisme). Artikel ini membahas tantangan dan peluang pendidikan dasar Islam di era Revolusi Industri 4.0. Penguatan literasi baru pada guru pendidikan dasar Islam sebagai kunci perubahan, revitalisasi kurikulum berbasis literasi dan penguatan peran guru yang memiliki kompetensi digital. Guru berperan membangun generasi berkompetensi, berkarakter, memiliki kemampuan literasi baru, dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Pendidikan dasar Islam sebagai dasar penentu kecerdasan intelektual, spiritual, dan emosional pada anak, harus memperkuat keterampilan literasi abad 21. Mulai aspek kreatif, pemikiran kritis, komunikatif, dan kolaboratif. Pendidikan dasar Islam urgen memperkuat literasi baru dan revitalisasi kurikulum berbasis digital. Revitalisasi kurikulum mengacu pada lima nilai dasar dari peserta didik yang baik, yaitu ketahanan, kemampuan beradaptasi, integritas, kompetensi, dan peningkatan berkelanjutan. Pendidik pendidikan dasar Islam harus menjadi guru digital, paham komputer, dan bebas dari penyakit akademis. Tujuannya mewujudkan generasi berkompetensi tingkat tinggi, karakter dan literasi untuk menjawab tantangan era Revolusi Industri 4.0
Religious Conflicts: Opportunity Structures, Group Dynamics, and Framing
Get PDFExplanations of violent religious conflicts usually focus on preconditions, facilitator causes or precipitating events at micro, meso or macro levels of analysis. As social psychology is the scientific study of the ways in which thoughts, feelings, perceptions, motives, and behaviors are influenced by interactions and transactions between groups and individuals, it can increase our understanding of the dynamics of religious conflicts at micro and meso levels. In this paper, I illustrate this point with a discussion of the utility of social movement theory for understanding the dynamics of religious conflicts. Social movement theory locates religious conflicts within broader contexts and complex processes by focusing on the interplay between micro and meso factors and the ways in which people perceive macro factors. Given certain conditions, religion can and often do contribute to collective violence. Religion is rarely, if ever, the main cause of intergroup conflicts, but is often used as an instrument for the mobilization of human and non-human resources. Appeal to religion may help conflicting parties overcome the collective action problem associated with intergroup conflicts. This does not necessarily mean that religious conflicts have unique characteristics or a logic of their own that sets them apart from other types of intergroup conflicts

Corak Pemikiran Islam Borneo (Studi Pemikiran Tokoh Muslim Kalimantan Barat Tahun 1990-2017)
Get PDFJudul penelitian ini adalah Corak Pemikiran Islam Borneo (Studi Pemikiran Ke-Islam-an Tokoh Muslim Kalimantan Barat Tahun 1990-2017). Peneitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan corak pemikiran keislaman yang dianut dan diamalkan oleh kaum muslimin di Kalimantan Barat, Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatann kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan secara lapangan di tiga Kabupaten dan dua di Kotamadya di Kalimantan Barat dengan karakter wilayah yang berbasis Kerajaan Islam dan Pusat Pendidikan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Pengecekan keabsahan data mengunakan teknik ketekunan pengamatan, triangulasi, dan kecukupan refrensial. Analisis data kualitatif dengan ada tiga langkah, yaitu: reduksi data, display data, dan mengambil kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) secara umum dapat memetakan corak pemikiran Islam yang dominan dipahami, dianut, dan diamalkan di Kalimantann Barat. 2) secara khusus dapat menjadi acuan kebijakan akademik oleh IAIN Pontianak dalam rangka mewujudkan visi dan misinya sebagai wadah kajian Islam dan Budaya Borneo. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa corak pemikiran Islam di Kalimantan barat adalah tasawwuf thariqah dan pembaharuan dengan sanad yang jelas berasal dari Arab, Jawa dan Madura peninggalan berupa teks (manuskrip) dan konteks (budaya dan bentuk bangunan tempat ibadah), gerakan mereka dapat ditemukan dalam bentuk majelis dan lembaga pendidikan madrasah dan pesantren
Popular Piety and the Muslim Middle Class Bourgeoisie in Indonesia
Get PDFThis paper discusses the passion of Islamization of the New Order, at the same time the mainstream of this power is based on economic development that provides opportunities for the growth of the Muslim middle class. Patronage model used by the New Order gives an indication that the power built by this regime wants to instill a strong influence in society. At the same time, the New Order is depoliticizing the political attitudes of Muslims. This has implications for the marginalization of the interests of Muslims on the national stage. In this study will also be affirmed the influence of the New Order's power on the presence of the Muslim middle class. On the one hand their birth was the result of the economic development that the New Order echoed. On a different aspect, the presence of the middle class gives strong legitimacy that they are part of the dominating class structure in a country. Also will be reviewed about middle-class interference with the trend of Islamic populism that actually occurred in the era of the 80s, but re-spread after post-reform. Popular Islamic culture becomes a trend that spread through various media such as, internet, magazines, newspapers and so forth. This has received considerable response from middle-class Muslims and led to commodification. Religion facilitates to interact with modernity. Materialistic and hedonistic interests intersect with obedience in the practice of religion. The gender discoursed in this study was examined through literature review and philosophical approaches. In the Islamic viewpoint, women are in a respectable position with equal distribution of rights and responsibilities with men. Likewise in the history of the locality of the Indonesian people, the position of women is also in a respectable position with their involvement in various lines of life, starting from the domestic sphere even Indonesian women are also actively involved in the socio-political sphere. [Kajian ini berupaya mengulas secara komprehensif wacana gender dalam perspektif Islam dan tradisi lokal. Wacana gender dalam kajian ini ditelaah melalui kajian kepustakaan dan pendekatan filosofis.
