Empowering Educators in the AI era: Insights from the UVG Faculty members Generative AI Club, Guatemala
No full textSince October 2023, our Generative AI Faculty Club in UVG has conducted synchronous hybrid sessions, tool exploration, and prompt engineering challenges. In the first season, faculty shared their learnings from Coursera courses. The second season involved fortnightly meetings to analyze AI tools. The third season featured weekly asynchronous challenges documented on Padlet. Faculty and staff from three campuses showed a keen interest in optimizing generative AI, evaluating their experience at the end of each season. For the fourth season, the Club aims primarily at fostering greater exchange between faculty from the three campuses

ChatGPT is utilized to simulate complex student-teacher interactions, providing immediate, actionable feedback, offering diverse perspectives, and facilitating critical reflection on potential biases while developing skills aligned with best practices in trauma-informed education. Although ChatGPT is a valuable MKO, incorporating human oversight and context-specific knowledge is crucial to mitigate biases and ensure comprehensive, equitable educational practices
