An Ecological Approach to Sophisticated Enhancement of Language Activities in English Language Teaching for Collaboration with Japanese Language Teaching
Get PDF本稿は，国語科教育との連携を意識した英語科教育における「言語活動の充実」について焦点を当て，活動を充実させるために，両教科の連携に必要な視点とは何かをヴァンリアの生態学的言語論をもとに考察することで，「言語活動」に対する生態学的価値づけを行った論考である。
国語科が外国語科との連携を行う際の共有的視点について，生態学的文脈に基づいて考察を行った結果，10の視点から多様な言語活動の見方・考え方が得られた。特に，アフォーダンスの考えを導入することにより，学習者が言語活動に積極的に「関与」することの必要性や重要性が示唆された。また，国語（日本語）と英語を「ことば」として捉え，言語の総体として観察する視点を与えた。母語の直感を援用するメタ言語能力を活用し，言語の構造や機能に気付かせる可能性も示唆された。In recent years, language activities specified in the revised School National Curriculum Standards have garnered increasing attention as deliberate, meaningful, and valuable learning experiences for nurturing the qualities and abilities of pupils and students. This paper places its focus on the "sophisticated enhancement of language activities" in English language teaching while recognizing the necessity of collaboration with Japanese language teaching. To enhance these language activities, this paper adopts an ecological approach to "language activities," considering the essential perspectives required for collaboration between these two subjects, based on Leo van Lear's 10 ecological perspectives. The shared perspectives on the collaboration between Japanese language teaching and English language teaching, rooted in the ecological context, have yielded a diverse array of viewpoints and concepts regarding language activities from ecological standpoints. Notably, the introduction of the concept of affordance highlights the imperative need for learners to actively engage in language activities, emphasizing the importance of perceiving Japanese and English as elements of "language" and facilitating a holistic examination of language as a system. Additionally, it suggests the potential utilization of metalinguistic abilities to aid learners in comprehending the structure and function of language, drawing from their intuitive understanding of their native language.departmental bulletin pape
Proposal on development of indicators for quality assurance of on-demand styles of instructions
Get PDF本研究では、オンデマンド型授業の設計・運営の質を保証するための指標を提案する。提案する指標は、10,000以上のオンラインコースを提供するCalifornia Virtual Collegeで教員向けに提供されているクラスデザイン・ルーブリックを参考に、教育方法学の観点から日本の大学でも利用可能なスタイルに修正したものである。この指標を2022年度に実施したオンデマンド型授業の事後評価に適用し、授業設計や学習環境の評価、授業改善計画の策定手順を検証した。検証の結果、本指標が授業の問題点やマイナス要素を指摘し、改善を促すことが確認できた。このことは、オンデマンド型授業での改善のみならず、あらゆる形態の授業の設計そのものの再確認と改善にも有効であることを示唆している。また、今回の検証結果を踏まえ、指標の活用をより簡便にするための改善点を検討した。This study proposes indicators to assure the quality of on-demand course design and management. The proposed indicators were adapted from the Class Design Rubric provided for faculty members at California Virtual College, which offers more than 10,000 online courses, and modified into a style that can be used at universities in Japan from the perspective of educational methodology. This indicator was applied to the post-evaluation of on-demand courses conducted in 2022, and the procedures for evaluating class design and learning environment and developing class improvement plans were verified. The results of this verification confirmed that the indicator was able to point out problems and negative elements in the classes and encourage improvement. The implication of this is that it is effective not only in improving on-demand classes, but also in reconfirming and improving the class design itself. Get PDF本稿は，海野つなみの漫画『逃げるは恥だが役に立つ』に描かれた夫婦像について考察するものである。家事代行の仕事を通して出会ったみくりと平(ひら)匡(まさ)は，お互いの利益のために「従業員と雇用主」という契約による事実婚の道を選ぶ。最初はビジネスライクな仮面夫婦のふたりだったが，一緒に暮らすうちに恋愛感情が芽生え，ゆっくりと愛情を育んで本物の夫婦になっていく。この作品が結婚をテーマとした他の恋愛漫画と大きく異なるのは，恋人関係になったのちの展開でる。入籍を提案する平匡に対して，みくりは開口一番「家事にお給料は支払われるのでしょうか」と問いかける。従業員として有償で行ってきた家事を妻が行えば無償になるのは納得いかない，というがみくりの言い分だ。最終的にふたりは，家庭の共同経営責任者として共働きの道を選択した。特筆すべきは，みくりと平匡の徹底した「関係調整」である。対等なパートナーとして尊重し合い，大事なものは何かをそのつど考え，合意を目指して丁寧に話し合うことで，ふたりの仲は深まっていくのである。This paper considers the image of husband and wife depicted in Tsunami Umino’s manga “The Full-Time Wife Escapist.” In this manga, Mikuri and Hiramasa, who met through Mikuri’s job with a housekeeping service, decide that it would be mutually beneficial to enter into a de facto marriage through an employment contract. While at first the pair only went through the motions of being husband and wife in a businesslike manner, as they live together over time they gradually fall in love and become a true married couple. This work chiefly differs from other love-story manga on the theme of marriage in the developments it describes after the two fall in love. The first thing Mikuri says when Hiramasa proposes marriage is, “You’ll pay me for housework, right?” Here Mikuri shows that she is unwilling to do for free, as a wife, the housework that she had been paid to do as an employee. Ultimately, the pair chooses a path in which both spouses work, while sharing responsibility for managing the home. It should be noted that this is a through adjustment of the relationship between Mikuri and Hiramasa. The ties between the two grow deeper as they come to respect each other as equal partners, think about what truly is important, and discuss things thoroughly, seeking consensus.departmental bulletin pape
Trial of Virtual Flipped Classroom in Cross-border Pre-enrollment Education and Future Challenges
Get PDF2020年度から「国境を越えた「仮想反転授業」による留学前教育に関する実証研究」をスタートさせた。これまで、本研究の第１フェーズとして、留学を希望する国外の大学生を対象とした「仮想反転授業」という学習スタイルを如何に捉えているのかについての調査研究、第２フェーズとして、日本における大学の入学前教育の取り組みの効果測定を、それぞれ行ってきた。本稿では、本研究の第3フェーズの前半にあたる「仮想反転授業」による留学前教育プログラムの試行について報告すると共に、その効果検証に向けての今後の課題を示す。From 2020, we have started empirical research on pre-overseas education by cross-border" virtual flipped classroom". The first phase of this study is a survey and research on how university students in other countries who hope to study abroad perceive the learning style of "Virtual Flipped Classroom". The second phase is a measurement of the effectiveness of pre-enrollment education programs at universities in Japan. A Study on the Difference between Spoken and Written Outputs of the Same Event
Get PDF現在，読み上げ機能による音声と視覚的インプットによって話し言葉と書き言葉の両方による読解，何度も巻き戻しや，聞き直しが可能な動画や音声素材による学習，絵文字やスタンプ等によるパラ言語的要素の表現の著しい向上などにより，話し言葉と書き言葉の境界線が曖昧になってきている。このような現状にあって，これまで書き言葉のインプットのみで行われてきた読解という行為を音声によるインプットが補う可能性もある。このような状況にあって，話し言葉と書き言葉の関係性や理解の難易度の差については、語彙や表現のレベルでは多くの知見が積み重ねられているが，それに加えて文や文章の構造的な違いからも考察することが重要であると考えられる。そこで，本研究では，話し言葉と書き言葉によるアウトプットがどのように異なり，また両者によるインプットの理解の難易度がどのように異なるのか，を明らかにするための予備調査を行った。その結果，同一テーマに関する話し言葉と書き言葉のアウトプットでは語彙のレベルや語の出自，読解難易度に大きな違いはないことが示され，話された情報と書かれた情報の構造面の違いを定量的に示す必要性があることが示唆された。Currently, the boundary between spoken and written language is blurring due to the use of both spoken and written language for reading comprehension with speech and visual input, learning with video and audio material that can be rewound and replayed, and remarkable improvements in the expression of paralinguistic elements using pictograms, stickers, and so forth. Under these circumstances, there is a possibility that spoken input will supplement the act of reading, which has until now been carried out only with written input. Although research has been accumulated on the level of vocabulary and expressions regarding the relationship between spoken and written language and the differences in difficulty of comprehension, it is considered important to examine the structural differences between them. This study conducted a preliminary investigation to clarify how spoken and written output differs, and how the difficulty level of understanding input by the two differs. The results showed that there is no significant difference between spoken and written output on the same topic in terms of vocabulary level, word traits, and reading difficulty, suggesting the need to quantify the differences in the structural aspects of spoken and written information.departmental bulletin pape
Perceived Growth of Nursing Students through Experience as Open Campus Staff
Get PDF本研究の目的は，オープンキャンパスのスタッフを経験したことによる看護学生の成長実感を明らかにすることである。オープンキャンパススタッフとして活動したことのある保健医療学部の4年生3名、および卒業生6名を対象に半構成的個別インタビューを実施した。インタビューでは、オープンキャンパスでの活動を振り返りながら，変化や成長したと実感していることを対象者の視点で自由に語ってもらった。得られたデータを繰り返し精読し、学生の成長に関連した文章を抽出した上で，意味内容の類似性を確認しながらカテゴリー化した。
その結果、オープンキャンパスのスタッフを経験したことによる看護学生の成長実感として，【コミュニケーション能力】，【視野の広がり】，【対応力】，【チームワーク】，【計画力】の５カテゴリーが抽出された。
コミュニケーション能力は，「話す力」，「大勢の前で話す力」，「話を聴く力」，「様々な世代の人と関わる力」，「話しやすい雰囲気作り」，「相手に合わせたコミュニケーション」の６つのサブカテゴリーで構成された。視野の広がりは，「全体を見る力」，「相手を受け入れ理解する力」，「先を見通す力」の３つのサブカテゴリーで構成され、対応力は，「臨機応変に対応する力」，「行動力」，「自信を持った行動」の３つのサブカテゴリーで構成された。チームワークは，「グループをまとめる力」，「他者を頼る」，「調整能力」，「スタッフ間での意思疎通」の４つのサブカテゴリー、計画力は「計画を立てる力」のサブカテゴリーで構成された。オープンキャンパススタッフになることは，オープンキャンパスの活性化だけでなく，学生自身の成長にも寄与し，看護師になった際にも有益であると考えられた。The aim of this study is to elucidate the perceived growth of nursing students resulting from their experience as Open Campus staff. Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with three fourth-year students and six graduates from the Department of Health Sciences who had previously served as Open Campus staff. In the interviews, participants were asked to freely discuss their experiences, reflecting on their activities as Open Campus staff and expressing how they perceived changes and personal growth. The collected data underwent repeated careful readings, and passages related to student growth were extracted. These passages were then categorized while confirming the similarity of their semantic content.
Consequently, the nursing students' experiential growth through their involvement as staff in the open campus has been identified in five categories: [Communication Skills], [Broadening of Perspectives], [Adaptability], [Teamwork], and [Planning Skills].
Communication skills were composed of six subcategories: [speaking ability], [public speaking ability], [listening skills], [ability to interact with people of various generations], [creating an approachable atmosphere], and [adapting communication to the other person]. Broadening of Perspectives consisted of three subcategories: [ability to see the whole picture], [acceptance and understanding of others], and [ability to foresee the future]. Adaptability was structured with three subcategories: [flexibility in responding to situations], [proactive behavior], and [confident actions]. Teamwork included four subcategories: [ability to lead a group], [dependency on others], [coordination skills], and [interpersonal communication among staff]. Planning skills were constituted by the subcategory [ability to formulate plans]. Becoming an open campus staff member was considered not only contributing to the activation of the open campus but also beneficial for the personal growth of the students. Get PDF近年のデジタル化の進展による今後のグローバル社会のあり方の議論を踏まえ，新学習指導要領において，これからの時代に必要な資質や能力が明示された。英語教育においては，4技能の向上だけでなく，テクストを事実・情報・意見の観点に基づいて批判的に読解し，適切に表出する言語コミュニケーション能力が求められている。以上の背景から，言語学習において，言語を単なる語彙や文法の集合体として捉えるだけでは十分ではない。指導者は，言語活動によって生み出されるコンテクストや，意味構造，機能により一層焦点を当て，学習者が言語活動を通して，言語形式・意味内容・言語機能が相互に影響し合っていることを体験的に理解し，ことばの使われ方（言語機能）を踏まえて，社会的文脈におけるテクストの意味内容を「解釈」できる力を育むことが必要である。本稿では，学習者が英語授業の言語活動において，言語形式・意味内容・言語機能の言語習得の3要素の相互作用を体験的に捉えることの意義を選択体系機能言語学的アプローチの視座から論じることを目的とする。Based on discussions on the future of global society due to the recent progress of digitalization, the new Courses of Study have highlighted essential skills for the future, emphasizing not just language skills but also critical reading and effective expression. Language is seen beyond just vocabulary and grammar; instead, the focus is on understanding context, semantics, and functions in language-use activities. The paper argues that learners should experience how linguistic form, semantic and pragmatic content, and linguistic function interact, developing the ability to interpret texts based on social contexts. An Investigation into Textbooks and Teacher’s Manuals in Japanese Primary Scholls: Focusing on their Sound Materials and Instructions
Get PDF本研究は, 小学校の英語教育で使用されている現行教科書, 教授用資料および音声・動画資料が, 教員の英語音声指導において，利用しやすく適切に作成されているかを調べた。教授用資料については, 音声指導に関する記述に大きな差が見られるが, 授業時の具体的な指導助言が乏しい。文字指導に重点が置かれている一方で, 文字と音声を結び付ける指導において，発音指導に関する記述はバラツキが大きい。音声資料に於いては, 遅い速度ではリズムが不適切に録音されているものが多数あり, 児童のモデルとして使用するには難があることが判明した。教授用資料の記述と音声が一致していない場合も見られた。結果として, 音声と文字指導を中心に扱う小学校の英語教育では, 発音指導や矯正指導がほとんど行われない危険性が高いと言えよう。教科書編纂者および出版社には，指導助言や音声収録に関して改善が求められる。departmental bulletin pape
Women Gardeners in Early 20th Century Britain: Three Wardens at Lady Warwick’s College, Studley
Get PDFThis paper explores the development of the new profession of women gardeners in early 20th-century Britain focusing on a horticultural school, Lady Warwick’s College, Studley. The College was founded by the Countess of Warwick, Frances Evelyn Greville (1861-1938) in Reading in 1898, when it was initially known as the Lady Warwick Hostel. The college moved to Studley Castle in 1903. It offered a high standard of practical training and education for women in horticulture and ‘the lighter branches of agriculture’. The paper looks at the experience of one Japanese horticultural student, Taki Handa, and their view of Lady Warwick College from 1906 to 1908. The paper also looks at how the college developed to offer professional training and education for women, and especially considers the period of the first three wardens: Edith Bradley, 1898-1905; Mabel Faithfull, 1905-1908; and Lillias Hamilton, M.D., 1908-1922. The paper looks at how these first three warden’s tenure periods (1898-1922) involved dynamic social change for women in Britain, especially during the First World War. Basic Research on Visualization of Non-Financial Information
Get PDF企業の情報開示において，非財務情報を重視する動きが本格化している。わが国では2023年度から上場企業に対して、非財務情報を開示することが義務付けられている。財務情報に関しては，一定の作成基準に照らして作成されるので，情報利用者が企業を評価したり他社と比較したりすることが容易である。
一方，非財務情報は，情報内容や情報開示に関して，指標等が明確になっていない点も多い。
気候変動や人的資本以外の分野が先行しているが，それ以外の分野についても今後検討が進められるものと思われる。しかし，非財務情報は財務情報のような定量情報ではないため，情報の開示だけではなく情報の管理も難しい。非財務情報開示についての研究の重要性が益々高まることは明らかである。
非財務情報の原点ともいえるジェンキンス報告書の中で提案されている非財務情報に立ち返り，非財務情報が重視されることになった背景を振り返る。そして，非財務情報可視化研究会の検討資料を中心に，今後の非財務情報開示に関する研究の基礎となる事項を整理している。In corporate information disclosure, the emphasis on non-financial information is gaining momentum. In Japan, listed companies are required to disclose non-financial information from FY2023. Financial information is created against certain standards for preparation, making it easy for information users to evaluate companies and compare them with other companies. On the other hand, there are many aspects of non-financial information that are not clear regarding the content and disclosure of information. This paper returns to the non-financial information proposed in the Jenkins Report and looks back at the background to the emphasis on non-financial information. Although there is an active movement internationally regarding non-financial information disclosure, there are many cases where indicators and other indicators have not yet been clarified.
