THE ROLE OF NON-FINANCIAL FACTORS IN ENSURING AN ADEQUATE FIRM PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM
Performance is one of the main indicators that indicate the level of development of an organization, representing one of the most important variables of analysis and at the same time will remain a topic quite discussed and constantly evolving. The elements of social responsibility found in the sustainable business practices of organizations lead to an evolution of performance towards a global approach that includes both financial and non-financial factors with an impact on the value of organizations. Non-financial indicators are considered to be more forward-looking, better able to predict future performance, better suited to measuring intangible assets and less likely to be manipulated than financial values. The performance measurement system, including non-financial indicators, provides a more comprehensive picture of performance factors as it measures performance beyond financial results. All these aspects led us to establish the respective research objective, to analyze the importance of non-financial performance factors in ensuring an efficient system for measuring organizational performance. The results of the research highlight the fact that most organizations in Suceava appreciate the importance of non-financial factors that lead to performance and create value for the organization

The role of social media platforms in choosing and promoting cross-border tourism destinations. Case study South Dobrogea tourist destination - the Cadrilater (Romania-Bulgaria)
Since the 2000s, social media platforms have begun to actively develop and increase the coefficient of marketing activities in the tourism sector. Over time, these platforms have played a key role in stimulating the user\u27s confidence in choosing a tourist destination. This indicates that the early 2000s managed to shape a certain dependence on these platforms regarding the choice of destination both for existing tourists, and for potential ones. This article aims to conduct a research study on the influence of the most popular social platforms in choosing cross-border tourist destinations, with a focus on the destination of South Dobrogea - The Cadrilater. To achieve this, the research adopted a hybrid approach. Initially, an analysis of the specialty literature was performed, followed by the application of a questionnaire on a sample of 200 respondents
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTHEASTERN REGION OF ROMANIA THROUGH THE ABSORPTION OF EUROPEAN FUNDS. A CASE STUDY OF THE ANTUR PROJECT
According to European Union evaluations, absorption of European funds is a challenge for all member states, but it is particularly difficult for those countries that joined later and are still catching up and aligning with the Union\u27s economic policies and standards, leading to a lower absorption rate. In this context, the Antur project, which has been launched by Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava in cooperation with Addvances Strategic Solutions, should be seen as a solution to these findings. The project\u27s primary objective was to promote the growth of the private sector and employment in the North-East region while also fostering entrepreneurship and developing entrepreneurial spirit on a regional scale. Because education has long-term effects and can cause changes in how people report to the labor market, the project\u27s target group of 300 beneficiaries constitutes a substantial boost in medium and long-term human capital investment. The purpose of this research is to measure the project beneficiaries\u27 level of affiliation with the entrepreneurial ecosystem by employing a questionnaire as a quantitative research approach to determine their perceptions of the entrepreneurial ecosystem pillars. Each pillar was given a hypothesis, which was either confirmed or disproved after the application of the questionnaire, which also included questions that aided us to operate a demographic profile of the respondents, along with questions regarding their education level and field of activity. After analyzing the data, we encountered that six of the eight hypotheses proposed have been confirmed, implying that the Antur project\u27s beneficiaries own a solid knowledge of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, as a result of the entrepreneurial skills training and the successful implementation of the startups
THE LEGAL ORDER OF THE EUROPEAN UNION AND CONSEQUENCES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EUROPEAN NORMS IN THE NATIONAL LAW OF THE MEMBER STATES
This article analyses the specifics of the legal order of the European Union, which creates a complex and original system of law, being more of a supranational law than an international law. In other words, original Community law is international in creation and supranational in application. The research highlights the most important features of the legal order of the European Union, in the sense that EU law is immediately applicable, has direct applicability and is applied with priority over any national rule. At the same time, we believe that the characteristic features of the legal order of the European Union have their origin in the partial ceding of some attributes of sovereignty to atypical supranational bodies, to which the Member States resorted when they established the European Union. Finally, we specify that European legislation creates a specific legal order that integrates into the national legal order. From this integration arises the impossibility of prevailing a subsequent national norm contrary to European law. Any other solution would deprive European law of its uniform application, as it would vary according to the subsequent national law of each Member State. A differentiated application by each Member State would lead to discrimination based on nationality / citizenship, discrimination which is prohibited by express provisions of European la
A Study of Factors Determining Infrastructure Performance at Tourism Destinations of Kashmir Valley
This paper studied the factors determining the performance of tourism infrastructure at tourism destinations in Kashmir Valley. Poor infrastructure performance is a stern obstacle to the development of the tourism sector. It requires a scientific move to wipe out hindrances. The factors determining the infrastructure performance may differ among the destinations. Accordingly, destination specific analysis is suitable for analyzing the significant factors. Data had collected from five popular tourism destinations through the pre-tested interview schedule, and perceptions were converted into the weights to test the hypothesis. A Multiple Linear Regression Model is adopted to study the significant factors and to verify the results. It is inferred that the factors of soft infrastructure have a strong influence on each destination, followed by sports infrastructure and security establishments, environment infrastructure, public utilities, and typical tourism infrastructure, respectively. The coefficient of determination is noticeably higher in the case of Yusmarg, followed by Srinagar, Pahalgam, Kokernag and Gulmarg
THE IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Entrepreneurship is globally accepted as a significant driver of socio-economic development. However, the Covid-19 pandemic affected entrepreneurial activity in each country of the world, and the restrictions imposed by the governments caused strong disruptions for entrepreneurs. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on entrepreneurship. The research methodology included qualitative and quantitative analysis. In addition, macroeconomic indicators issued by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor related to entrepreneurial activity and business ownership have been used. The results show that the Covid-19 pandemic had a significant impact on entrepreneurship. The crisis affected the activities of SMEs and policymakers attempted to introduce resilience actions to support the entrepreneurial system. The most impacted industries during the Coronavirus pandemic were tourism, airlines, and the automotive field. However, industries related to health, technology, pharmaceutical, and science were the least impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Changes caused by the health crisis could also change the current labour market and the management infrastructure of existing companies. Policymakers should create opportunities for existing and future entrepreneurs through new policies related to remote work, reskilling of the workforce, and investments in innovative technologies.
THE POTENTIAL OF ROMANIAN DESTINATIONS TO MEET THE NEW LUXURY TRAVEL TRENDS. THE CASE OF MARAMURES COUNTY
As consumer tastes are constantly transforming, the tourism sector has adapted and had started to approach travellers differently. It is no surprise that the ongoing pandemic impacted individuals’ attitudes and implicitly travelling tastes, which are now oriented towards more authentic and life-changing experiences. If ten years ago, a luxury vacation was described as a one-week long stay at a 5-star hotel, now it is shifting towards what we call ‘a new luxury travel’. Travel agencies worldwide witnessed this trend and described it through five criteria: untouristed and unexpected destinations, country coupling preferences, tasty travels, group getaways, emotional intelligence encounters and enjoying the journey. By following these criteria, our research aims at describing the potential of Maramures county, located in Romania, of meeting this trend. We follow a qualitative type of research that is capable of creating a framework of area’s capacity for becoming a top-rated travel destination. Findings of the paper show positive highlights of Maramures for meeting these trends, through the landscapes, culture and customs it unveils. Results have implications for future scholars in multiple fields, including touristic hosts, travel agencies, tourists but also researchers in the field
