BARRIERS TO REACHING SUSTAINABILITY IN THE FAST FASHION INDUSTRY
The fast fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries, and unfortunately, not a lot of viable solutions have been found till this moment. Nowadays, we are noticing more and more fashion campaigns that include a sustainable message, though we are still talking about a lot of environmental and social problems caused by this industry. However, finding innovative ideas starts with identifying the potential barriers that the industry is facing to better understand the actual state of the industry regarding sustainability from both the consumer and organization points of view. The following structured literature review is trying to create a whole picture of the sustainability barriers that the fashion industry is facing, and as we are talking about a highly competitive industry, constant research is needed. The main implications of this study are the ability to better comprehend what hinders the path to a more sustainable future nowadays. Still, to this day, little research has been conducted on the always-evolving challenges of sustainability. More research is needed for companies and consumers to adapt to the shift that is already happening, and the contribution of the paper will likely generate innovative strategies and solutions toward a greener future from both sides of view

THE EFFECT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON SAVING BEHAVIOUR: CASE OF ROMANIA
In contemporary society, at the macroeconomic level as well as at the individual level, of person or society, economies play a key role with a direct impact on the behaviour of the population. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, this study systematically explored whether and why the health crisis stimulates consumers’ preference for savings (over spending). The purpose of this paper is to analyse the preferences of the population but also of the economic agents regarding the investments in bank deposits, investments made by them both at European and national level. The analysis consists in the analysis of the evolution of savings in Romania but also in other European countries and is based on the data published by the Central Bank of Romania in the NBR statistics, FGDB statistics but also the data published by Eurostat. Savings are also analysed by institutional sectors, with a focus on the household sector and non-financial corporations. The results of the study show that in order to better cope with future uncertainties and risks, individuals can reserve resources and increase their saving behaviour. It is also observed that individuals facing a pandemic save more than in periods of stability
CONTEMPORARY DIRECTIONS ON HOW CONSUMERS INTERACT WITH FINANCIAL-BANKING SERVICES
The COVID-19 pandemic and the disruptive forces of Open Banking have disturbed the global economy and how consumers interact with financial-banking services. While consumers stayed away from branches, banks and other financial services providers (reluctant to change their traditional models) were forced to adopt technology and other transformations to remain relevant in the market by meeting customers\u27 requirements. For many financial institutions, the new reality has meant accelerating their internal and external digitization processes, while for others, it has revealed weaknesses in meeting consumers\u27 needs. As online banking has gone from being "pleasant to have" to an indispensable "modus vivendi," many new banks have benefited from the technological gap. Thus, PSD2 has become an opportunity for established banks to gain new market share and sell products to customers they would not otherwise have reached. Open Banking has become a symbol of the digitalization and transformation of the financial sector in recent years. The original ideals of the Internet era give the consumer back control over the financial services performed and reduce the barriers to accessing them. Digital banks and neo banks are practically a new generation of banks operating exclusively through the Internet, which were born with the fundamental objective of facilitating financial operations for consumers, offering greater time flexibility (always available), and allowing the fast and easy performance of all types of operations, adapting perfectly to the trends of today\u27s world, which has shown a great preference for everything digital. The digitalization of banks implies a radical transformation of the organizational culture, which should start from the principle that the bank must be constantly reinvented because customers expect cross-cutting, integrated, more fluid, and more agile services. This paper highlights how contemporary economic reality determines the behavior of consumers of financial-banking services and the evolution of financial intermediaries
