    Analysis the effect of plant growth regulator (Gibgro-20T) on seaweed Eucheuma cottonii by in vitro

    This study aims to determine the effect of the dose of plant growth regulator (PGR) Gibgro-20T on the growth of Eucheuma cottonii in-vitro. The experimental method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) treatment with a Gibgro-20T dose of 0 ppm (control), 5 ppm, 10 ppm, and 15 ppm. The results showed that the highest weight growth rate (RGRW) obtained at 10 ppm PGR dose, which is 1.27% per day. Meanwhile, the highest length growth rate (RGRL) obtained at a dose of 10 ppm, which was 1.72% per day, and the highest RGRL was significantly different from the control (0 ppm) and 5 ppm but was not different real (P<0.05) with 15 ppm treatment. Using Gibgro-20T at doses of 5, 10, and 15 ppm, however, doses of 10 and 15 ppm show higher length growth

    Phytoplankton is a bio-indicator of fertility in waters. This study aims to determine the impact of detergent and pesticide waste on the phytoplankton community structure in in tilapia aquaculture media. The phytoplankton identification stage was carried out at the MIPA Laboratory Almuslim University. The parameters studied were phytoplankton abundance, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index, and water quality parameters. The results of this study showed that detergent and pesticide waste at the end of the study had caused a decrease in the abundance value of phytoplankton by 3,250 individual/L and 3,750 individual/L. In the control treatment, the highest phytoplankton composition was dominated by Chaetoceros sp., while the pesticide and detergent treatments were dominated by Golenkenia sp. and Microcystis sp. Exposure to detergent and pesticide waste reduced the diversity index value, the phytoplankton uniformity index value. At the beginning of the study, it has a moderate diversity index (H '= 2.485–3.072), while at the end of the study it shows low diversity (H' = 2.111–2.375). Furthermore, at the beginning and at the end of the study there was a decrease in the uniformity index value (E = 0.87–1.01) and (H '= 0.88–0.94)

    Condition of mangrove in the waters of Pangkil Village, Teluk Bintan District, Bintan Regency

    Pangkil Village is one of the areas located on the coast of Bintan Island, Teluk Bintan District. This island has an aquatic ecosystem with abundant marine resources, one of which is the mangrove ecosystem. Mangroves are the main supporting ecosystem for life activities in coastal areas that play an important role in maintaining the balance of environmental biological cycles. This study aims to determine the condition, distribution and density level of mangroves in the waters of Pangkil Village. This research was conducted in February-March 2021. The research method is purposive sampling, which means that the research station points are chosen intentionally based on the consideration of the condition of the existence of mangroves or the density of mangroves. The research station points were determined as many as 8 stations, at each station consisting of transects and at each transect consisting of 3 sample plot plots (Transect Line Plot). The density level data was collected using a line transect measuring 10x102 which was drawn from the sea to the land and the distribution of mangroves using lansat-8 imagery. The level of mangrove density in the waters of Pangkil Village is still quite good. The results of the research on the level of mangrove density in the waters of Pangkil Village are classified as good with the distribution of mangrove areas in the waters of Pangkil Village covering an area of 40.23 ha, with an average density level of 1,033 ind/ha per station to 1,733 ind/ha. with medium and solid status based on the Decree of the Minister of the Environment No. 201 year 2004

    The potential of marine fish resources in Districts Barru is multi-species, especially pelagic fish. Therefore, in the management and utilization of fishery resources it is very possible for the community to be able to operate various fishing gear. This study aims to determine the composition of the types of fishing gear operated by fishermen in Barru Districts waters of during the pandemic Covid 19. Data collection was carried out from September to October 2020 in around the waters and coastal areas in Barru Districts. This study used a descriptive survey method, by collecting available data (secondary data) in the form of: categories of types and numbers of fishing gears. besides that, field observations will also be carried out. During the pandemic Covid-19, the operation of fishing gear in Barru Districts waters was 13 types of fishing gear, with a composition consisting of four types of fishing gears that were predominantly used, namely 622 drifting gill nets (28.4%), hand lines (21, 7%), Bottom gill nets (19.9%), trolling line (9.6%). Meanwhile, the least used fishing gear was 8 Bagan Tancap (lift net) (0.4%)

    Nutrient Absorption Rate of Oryzias celebensis Embryo

    Oryzias celebensis is a species of medaka fish in South Sulawesi. During incubation, the growth and development of these fish embryos depend on the nutrients stored in the eggs. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the volume size of egg yolks and oil droplets and the absorption rate of egg yolks of O. celebensis embryos that reared in different incubation media. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four rearing media treatments, namely A (Early Rearing Media), B (bottled water), C (Pattunuang river water) and D (well water) with five replications . The results showed that the volume of egg yolk and O. celebensis embryo oil in each medium showed a decrease in volume size along with the embryonic development stage. The absorption rate of yolk in O. celebensis embryos in media A had the biggest yolk absorption with an average 0.015±0.038 mm3 while media D had the smallest yolk absorption with an average 0.011±0.022 mm3

    Efforts to reduce protein in fish feed by maximizing the use of carbohydrates as an energy source must be supported by exogenous enzymes. One source of exogenous enzymes that can be used as a polysaccharide degrading agent easily obtained and wasted is rumen liquid in slaughterhouses (RPH). This study aims to determine the most effective carbohydrate level after being given rumen liquid as a source of exogenous enzymes in maximizing nutrient digestibility and feed efficiency in milkfish (Chanos chanos Forsskal). This study was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consisted of 4 treatments and three replications. Thus there were 12 experimental units. The treatments tested were feeds with various levels of carbohydrates (27.81%; 39.50%; 46.97%; and 56.75%) then given cow rumen liquid as a source of the enzyme at a dose of 80 mL/100 g of feed. Nutrient digestibility and feed efficiency data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with the W-Tuckey test. The results showed that feeding with various levels of carbohydrates in the feed that was first given cow rumen liquid waste had a significant effect (P0.05) on total digestibility, protein digestibility, and fat digestibility of milkfish. The most effective carbohydrate level in feed after being given cow rumen liquid which can optimize nutrient digestibility and feed efficiency of milkfish, is 46.97%

    This study examines the concept of Hybrid Event as a new strategy that is considered reliable enough for fishing communities in Makassar to face new normal conditions. New economic spaces have been created for fishermen and UMKM fishermen who have been affected by Covid-19. The old economic spaces are no longer reliable because they are constrained by laws and regulations from the government that require restrictions on social distancing and physical distancing. The purpose of this study was to analyze the readiness of the fishing community and fishermen UMKM actors in Beba, Tamasaju Village, North Galesong District, Takalar Regency to enter business era 4.0 in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and assist the realization of government policies in providing socio-economic protection to fishing communities and as well as UMKM fishermen in Makassar. The resulting output is in the form of four (4) main strategies: first, combining physical and virtual meetings, so that fishermen's businesses and businesses and fishermen's UMKM continue to run in various different atmospheres. Second, health protocols such as maintaining physical distance and social distance are not violated and at the same time the pace of economic activity of fishing communities and fishing UMKM can still run normally. Third, empowering fishing communities and fishing UMKM  in using appropriate information technology.     Kawal Waters is one of the waters in Bintan which has good fishery resources, one of that is the blue swimming crab. The Blue Swimming Crab (Portunus pelagicus) is one of the important economic fisheries resources belonging to the Portunidae family. The blue swimming crab is one of the most common organisms used by the community. The purpose of the study was to determine food composition of blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) in Kawal waters of Bintan Island, Riau Island on June 2021. The sampling used random sampling method. There were 34 individuals used for food composition analysis. The  food  composition  in  the  stomach  of blue  swimming  crab  consisted  of three groups of microalgae, crustacea, and detritus. The food composition in the adult size was found microalgae groups with the percentage composition 78%. It was followed by crustacea of 18,06%, and detritus of 5,12%. The highest of indeks of stomatch contens is in morning caught of 1,15 for males and 1,28 for female

    Business Crab (Portunus pelagicus) Kawal Village waters are waters located in the Gunung Kijang area, Bintan Regency, Riau Islands Province. High market demand for crab fishery commodities that triggers excessive exploitation so that it can have an impact on the sustainability of crab resources. This study aims to determine the condition of the sex ratio and the pattern of crab growth in the waters of Kawal Village, Bintan Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method. The sampling technique was carried out using a random census, in which the researcher immediately went down to the field to take a sample of 176 crabs. The results showed a good sex ratio for female crabs at 52% and male crabs at 48%, which has calculated the Chi-square test which between females and males has a balanced ratio, which results in: X2 count of 33, 2 while X table is 74,975 which if X2 count < X table: male and female sex ratio is balanced. The growth pattern of both female and male crabs in the waters of Kawal Village, Bintan Regency has a negative allometric character where the growth pattern of carapace width is greater than weight growth
