The new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) has brought important new features. The best known is reinforced conditionality. This system requires greater environmental obligations from the holders of CAP income aid. But the CAP has also introduced a new legal concept: social conditionality. PAC income guarantees will be penalized if certain community socio-labor obligations are not met, especially those related to transparent and predictable working conditions, as well as those related to the guarantee of a safe and healthy environment. Now, this regulatory framework seems insufficient for true environmentally and socially sustainable agriculture. This study analyzes the legal implications of this social conditionality and proposes changes for a more comprehensively sustainable agriculture, starting with a socially fair water transition.

The principle of self-organization of public administrations when designing working hours has led, following the COVID-19 pandemic, to the introduction of intensive working hours for local which should be reviewed in the light not only of the provisions of Directive 2003/88, but also, in particular, of its effects on the health and safety of those affected, their colleges and the community. In this respect, the fatigue factor, resulting from very demanding shift patterns, have an impact both unsatisfactory performance and, in particular, on a higher propensity to accidents and a clear deterioration of psychophysical health, which require urgent correction.

The European Convention on Human Rights is born as an international tool of international civil rights protection. However, it does not mean that these social rights are totally unprotected in the frame of the Convention despite it cannot be compared to the rights protected by the European Social Charter. To do so, the European Human Rights Court, through a constructive jurisprudence, has expanded the contents of some rights which are recognised in Rome Convention through two hermeneutic techniques: the recognition of an entitlement dimension of some classic civil rights and the socalled technique of rights by connection which consist of adding contents from a third generation right to one of the rights recognised by the Convention

-----------------------------------------------------------This work attempts to define the three basic elements of the subject of euthanasia: Prolonging life, palliative care, and doctor patient relationships. These elements, dealt with on a daily basis, are obligatory and antecedent for talking about euthanasia. The first part of this work discusses the possibility of prolonging the life of a terminally ill patient in relationship to aggressive therapy. From this process, an attempt is made to find equilibrium between the disease’s process and the palliative care. We must consider that during the length of a disease, the relationship exists not only between the patient and his family but also the patient and doctor who is bound by medical obligations and patient’s rights

This paper aims at the archaeological identification of productive structures within settlements featuring an early church and integrated into the rural landscape that emerged following the decline of the Roman state in the coastal region of Tarraco (present-day Catalonia). The analysis is carried out on two levels: a general one that assesses the impact of such ensembles within the context of the rural settlement during that period, and a detailed examination of three significant cases: Sant Menna, Sant Cugat del Vallès and El Bovalar.

This essay approaches the study of musical instruments that the religious included in the vocabularios during their evangelizing mission in Mesoamerica in the 16th century. These lexicographical sources offer us an overview of the use of the language that reveals abundant information about who writes it and the reality that is being described. We take as reference the work of fray Juan de Cordova (1578) from which we extract all the musical instruments and compare them with those collected by fray Francisco de Alvarado in the Vocabvlario en lengva misteca (1593). The analysis makes clear the survival of pre-Hispanic musical practices as well as the rapid assimilation of European traditions in Zapotec and Mixtec-speaking areas towards the second half of the 16th centuryEste trabajo aborda el estudio de los instrumentos musicales que los religiosos incluyeron en los vocabularios durante su misión evangelizadora en Mesoamérica en el siglo XVI. Fighting the climate change effect on biologically aged wines, finos and manzanillas, from the Sherry and Montilla Moriles DOP.

Motivation: The biological aging of sherry wines is a process carried out by a specialized type of yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae (flor yeast) which is able to form a biofilm on the wine surface called "flor". In this surface, the ethanol is oxidized to acetaldehyde by the action of alcohol dehydrogenase protecting the wine from oxidation. (Avdanina & Zghun, 2022). This biofilm is very sensitive to temperature increases, so global warming means a threat that worries wineries, as deterioration of the flor during warmer months is becoming more and more frequent, with the appearance of undesirable nuances in the wine. It is highly desirable to develop a simple and quickly method of restoring the flor of a barrel with our yeast strain when it deteriorates. Methods: Ten samples were collected from different wine barrels. Once in the laboratory, each sample was diliuted and spread for single colonies on two different media, YPD and rose bengal. Five yeast colonies from each sample were used to identify potential differenet strains by microsatellite analysis by multiplex PCR. Once a yeast strain is chosen, in order to determine what would be the minimum concentration of yeast required to develop the flor as quickly as possible, it is grown in a 25 ml medium of 50% grape must and 50% water. When the culture is saturated, it is scaled up to 500 ml of the same ratio. This culture is used to work under aseptic conditions, and placing different amounts of culture in beakers with 540 ml of wine, obtaining different dilutions of the culture. Another culture of 50 ml (same ratio of must and water), is also scaled up to 50ml, and then divided into four cultures with different volumes, this culture will be used to reproduce the winery condictions. Results: The microsatellite analyisis determined that all the yeast isolated were indistinguishable indicating that there is probably a single yeast flor strain colonizing the whole cellar. Moreover, our preliminary data show that after 13 days the cultures with 0,5 and 1% showed slight signs of development although with hardly any evidence of flor, meanwhile the, 0,25 and 0,125% didn't show any development signs. Conclusions: The entire winery is poblated by the same Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain which has a slow velo de flor development. We are currently conducting further tests with several isolates of the "flor" strain to characterise in detail the "flor" formation parameters of this strain

In vitro analysis of the efficacy of fungicides and biological control agents against pathogenic fungi of strawberries.

Strawberries are a crucial product globally, the Huelva region stands out in Spanish production, where this crop is continually threatened by soil-borne pathogens that can significantly reduce yields. To address this problem, in this area, soil disinfestation with fumigant agrochemicals has been the main strategy. However, the continued reduction in the use of certain active substancies is limiting control possibilities, and disease problems persist [1,2]. For instance, charcoal rot, caused by Macrophomina phaseolina, is one of the most damaging diseases, with 32.9% of plots treated to control it during the 2022-2023 campaign [3].In the present work, two in vitro approaches were evaluated for controlling fungal pathogens. The first strategy was the poisoned medium technique [4], an in vitro analysis of the efficacy of five fungicides against five strawberry pathogens: M. phaseolina, F. solani, N. clavispora, and two isolates of F. oxysporum. This assay aimed to effectively inhibit pathogen growth through fungicide action. The lethal dose 50 (LD50) was calculated. The second one followed a biological control strategy, and was divided into two experiments. On one hand, dual in vitro confrontations were conducted between pathogenic fungi and various Trichoderma isolates to assess their biological control capacity [5]. On the other hand, the antagonist activity of Trichoderma was evaluated by cultivating on culture medium with a sterile cellophane sheet, which was subsequently removed for pathogen inoculation [6]. The objective was to identify pathogen inhibition of these antagonists by competence and/or production of inhibitory substances.Within the framework of the in vitro strategy for fungicide efficacy evaluation, M. phaseolina had the most favorable results, exhibiting low LD50 doses and, in some cases, complete growth inhibition. In addition, positive effects of the fungicide composed of propiconazole and tebuconazole were also observed in all five evaluated fungi. Regarding to biological control assays, overgrowth in dual culture and high growth inhibition percentages were registered for some Trichoderma isolates, which could be indicative of potential as a biological control agent against these pathogens. In summary, these findings indicindicate: (i) a significant sensitivity of M. phaseolina to the fungicides employed (ii) the potential of some Trichoderma isolates as alternative for controlling these pathogens
