As technology ceases to be a privilege in organizations to become a basic requirement in any business sector, especially after the Covid 19 pandemic, enterprise architecture becomes a technology management tool to improve the performance of companies, hence the importance of studying their evolution, current status and trends through a bibliometric analysis that allows building a foundation for future research. The methodology used identifies the scientific production regarding its quantity, quality, structure and trends through the use of automated algorithms in the bibliometrix and biblioshiny applications, in 1,091 scientific papers published from 2011 to 2022.
The results show a slightly upward linear scientific production, with references in authors and impact located mainly in developed countries, such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and with the presence of emerging countries such as China and India. Regarding the structure of the theme, the clusters related to technology and information are the predominant ones, although themes such as innovation and business models begin to show connections with the study of enterprise architecture. Finally, regarding the study trend, until 2020 the topics were focused on technology and information, changing towards sustainable development, the internet of things, business models, digital transformation, blockchain and case of studies, which shows the insertion of this study in the business field.
The aim of this research was to evaluate the impact of the financial aid programme at a private university in Venezuela on the outcome variables of post-graduation or social mobility, such as remuneration at the time of graduation and at present, and the probability of entering the labour market. We used the fuzzy regression design for multiple treatments, given that the programme consists of the application of percentage discounts on tuition, where the allocation index only shows the probability of being treated, thus finding beneficiary individuals to the right and to the left of the threshold at each of the cut-off points. The results show that there are differences in labour market insertion between treated and untreated individuals, in favour of the former, but higher wages for non-beneficiaries. As for the estimates of the fuzzy regression regressions for both remuneration at the different points in time and labour market insertion, it is not possible to identify a positive impact of the treatment.
Extension of the shelf life of ready to eat foods.
In industrialized countries, the increase in foodborne illnesses is due to changes in lifestyle and dietary choices, especially due to work habits that promote eating out. This requires strengthening sanitary controls to preserve public health. Globalization introduces new risks by importing products from countries with deficient regulations or prolonged transportation times [1]. Therefore, the precise evaluation of the shelf life of food is crucial for consumer safety, reducing food waste, and maintaining the economic viability of the food industry [2].The "shelf life of food" is defined as the period during which a product maintains its safety, quality, and nutritional attributes under specific storage conditions, from production to consumption, preserving its sensory, physical, chemical, and microbiological properties according to the manufacturer's intentions. Previous studies in our laboratory showed that the shelf life of a specific brand of roasted pork loin, a pasteurized meat derivative, was in discrepancy with that indicated in the technical sheet. Our results demonstrated a microbial duration of 83 days instead of the established 150 days [2].Based on these findings, the objective of this research is to extend the microbial shelf life of this food product by implementing modifications in its production process. To quantify the product's shelf life, an accelerated test at elevated temperatures (20°C, 30°C, and 40°C) has been carried out through viable counts of three microorganisms as possible responsible for food deterioration: lactic acid bacteria, aerobes, and molds and yeasts. This technique allows us to quickly estimate the period during which this product maintains its quality by simulating conditions that accelerate the natural deterioration process of the food [3].The results of the previous study validated a shelf life in refrigeration between 0-7°C of 83 days for the roasted pork loin, with lactic acid bacteria as the main degradation agents. After implementing modifications in the temperature during the production process, the shelf life was extended to 150 days at refrigeration temperatures of 0-4°C, with aerobes being the predominant microorganisms responsible for deterioration, without observing growth of molds and yeasts in any of the experiments. In conclusion, the proposed modifications in the production process are effective in extending the shelf life and ensuring the safety of roasted pork loin
Identification of the lncRNA signature related to Sorafenib effectiveness in liver cancer cells.
Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common form of primary liver cancer being globally recognized as the fourthcause of cancer-related death [1]. The impact of risk factors on HCC has a variable geographic distribution, includinghepatitis C (HCV) and B (HBV) virus infection, alcohol, aflatoxin B1, metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD), tobacco and congenital diseases. Patients with advanced stage of HCC who lack preserved liver function,as well as vascular disorders and high blood pressure cannot benefit from the first-line systemic therapies(Atezolizumab-Bevacizumab and Durvalumab-Tremelimumab), and they are recommended to receive Sorafenib.Sorafenib is an orally administered multityrosine kinase inhibitor approved by the FDA for the treatment of HCC in2008 [2, 3]. Among non-coding RNA, miRNAs, lncRNAs and circRNAs have been related to the initiation, progressionand metastasis in HCC [4]. The group has recently shown that miR-512-3p exerts oncogenic role, and miR-200c-3pexert antitumoral properties under Sorafenib treatment in vitro, in vivo and in two independent cohorts of patients [5].In this study we focus on lncRNA, a ncRNA molecule of more than 200 nucleotides. LncRNAs carry out manybiological processes, including the regulation of proliferation, invasion, differentiation and metastasis. LncRNA alsoregulate gene transcription and translation by modifying the microRNA and mRNA signature in cells [6]. We haveidentified the lncRNA signature in response to Sorafenib in two liver cancer cell lines. In silico analysis of RNAseqdata highlighted the differential expression of 11 Sorafenib-regulated lncRNAs in both cell lines. In vitro functionalstudy validated the results obtained in silico. Sorafenib decreased the expression of 9 lncRNAs and increased theexpression of 1 lncRNA. We will carry out specific experimental approaches to determine the functional role of theseselected lncRNAs in cell invasion and migration. The final outcome of the project would be to determine whether thelncRNA signature might be a new biomarker of disease prognosis and treatment responsiveness
Funcional characterization of a heterozygous mutation in LRBA.
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is an exclusion diagnosis that presents a highly variable clinical picture, mainlycharacterized by persistent hypogammaglobulinemia and recurrent bacterial infections, accompanied in 20-30% of cases byautoimmune, lymphoproliferative or granulomatous manifestations [1]. CVID is associated with alterations in a group of genesinvolved in the stimulation, survival and development of B lymphocytes [2], among which is included LRBA (lipopolysaccharideResponsive and Beige-Like Anchor Protein); a gene that encodes a large protein with diverse anchoring domains that isexpressed in multiple tissues and intracellular structures [3]. LRBA has multiple functions; acting as a regulatory scaffoldbetween the compartments of the endomembrane system, modulating the trafficking and activity of vesicles and proteins, including the secretion of cytokines and immunoglobulins and acting as a key factor in cell proliferation, autophagy andapoptosis; essential functions for the proper functioning of the immune system [2]. On the other hand, the protein structure ofLRBA also contains characteristic domains and properties that predict its AKAP (A-kinase anchoring proteins) function;important signaling for the development and proliferation of T lymphocytes [2]. LRBA deficiency has been associated withalterations in the development, activation and autophagy of B lymphocytes, increased susceptibility to apoptosis, hypogammaglobulinemia and decreased proliferative response, findings that may be accompanied by a T lymphocytedeficiency [1].The phenotypic spectrum is very broad and most patients with biallelic deleterious mutations in LRBA developCVID, whereas individuals with a single affected allele have a higher probability of developing this immunodeficiency ordiverse autoimmune disorders [1]. In this work, we aim to study two siblings who are carriers of a heterozygous mutation in theLRBA gene (C127G>A, Gly43Ser) and display inflammatory and autoimmune manifestations. To this end, lymphoblastoid celllines will be generated from their blood samples by EBV infection and different biochemical and immunological techniques willbe performed to characterize the functional alterations of the LRBA mutation and its effect on the immune cells of the patients
Beyond borders: stem cell therapy in pediatric brain tumors.
The number of people that survive cancer is increasing due to advances in early detection and treatments for cancer. For this reason, more attention is being paid to the impact of cancer treatments on patients' health and quality of life. Radiotherapy is one of the most common treatments for cancer. Around 50% of all tumor patients receive radiation at a given time. However, radiotherapy comes with short- and long-term side effects. In particular, radiation for brain tumors causes neurofunctional sequelae, which may be progressive and permanent. The most frequently described neurological alterations of cranial radiation include learning and memory difficulties, problems in executive functions, reduced processing speed, attention deficits, visual alterations and intellectual decline among others. These neurological sequelae primarily affect pediatric patients because the developing brain is more sensitive to radiation. Our group is interested in developing cell-based therapies to improve outcomes of brain tumor pediatric patients, thus promoting a healthy cancer-free life. We have demonstrated the efficacy and safety of intransally delivered MSCs in mouse models. Currently, we are using humanized models to advance our understanding of the therapeutic actions of MSCs, boosting their translation into clinical applications
The aim of this article is to analyze the representation of Briseisin Emily Hauser’s novel For the Most Beautiful (2016), while comparing it with its classical hypotexts and other contemporary rewritings authored by women. Briseis’ feelings are barely mentioned in the Iliad, but these voids and gaps are the starting point for many women to (re)build this character, especially in its affective-sentimental dimension. Some of these novels are For the Most Beautiful, Achilles (2002) byElizabeth Cook, The Song of Achilles (2011) by MadelineMiller, The Silence of the Girls (2018) by Pat Barker and AThousand Ships (2019) by Natalie Haynes. A criticalcomparison between her sources in the classical tradition and how her role and feelings as a slave are reinterpreted in these feminist refigurations sheds light on the character’s identitarian essence and her past and present function.
In recent years, there have been several attempts to recover LGBTI historical memory all over the world. This was not always the case and, for several centuries, homosexuality was invisible, controlled, and punished by religion, politics, and science itself. Given the historical relations between Portugal and Brazil, this article aims to trace the history of the criminalization of homosexuality in both countries. It briefly refers to the legislation of the modern period (16th century to the end of the 18th century), when Brazil was still a Portuguese colony and what was criminalized were sinful acts. Then the article analyzes the legislation used against the “homosexual” figure in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The overrepresentation of Afro-Ecuadorians from the Chota Valley in Ecuadorian soccer responds to the historical racial construction of the population as apt for sports and bodily activities; and as less intelligent and therefore, denied opportunities in spaces considered white. However, soccer, as a natural space for Afro-Ecuadorians, does not respond to the population's expectations of economic mobility; rather, it can be considered an artifact of widening inequality gaps.
The focus of developmental research in the past decade has accentuated the critical nature of acknowledging the mental health of elite athletes. Professionals and researchers have come together to recognise the susceptibility of elite athletes to mental health challenges at a level similar to that of the general population (Moesch et al., 2018; Poucher & Cairney, 2021). Elite athletes are recognised to experience a diverse range of disorders such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and substance abuse, which can be influenced by a number of aspects related to their athletic career, performance, and external factors (Rice & Parker, 2016). The notion of ‘mental health’ has been described in many ways. According to the World Health Organisation, mental health is defined as “a state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community” (World Health Organisation, 2014). This given definition highlights that mental health goes beyond the absence of disorders and emphasises the capacity of an individual to achieve optimal well-being. Furthermore, the American Psychiatric Association defines ‘mental disorders’ as “a syndrome characterised by clinically significant disturbance in an individual's cognition, emotion regulation, or behaviour that reflects a dysfunction in the psychological, biological, or developmental processes underlying mental functioning,” including conditions such as eating disorders, depression, and anxiety (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).El foco de la investigación sobre el desarrollo en la última década ha acentuado la naturaleza crítica de reconocer la salud mental de los atletas de élite.
