    CONCEPT OF IMPROVING STRENGTH IN AYURVEDA W.S.R IMUNITY

    Ayurveda is the science of human health and disease. It deals with comfort, discomfort, physiological and pathological aspect of life. The word immunity means the strength of protecting from infectious diseases. The immune system evolved as defense system to protect body from invading pathological microorganisms and malignant diseases. Strong immunity is the key for maintaining stability in health with the changing season. Vyadhikshamatva is described in Ayurveda and this concept is considered equivalent to immunity. Normal condition of kapha, Bala and ojas are also similar to immunity. Vyadhikshamatva literally means resistance (ksamatva) against disease (vyadhi). Physical and mental resistance to disease is of enormous significance for all living being, it regulates both prevention against and rapid recovery from diseases. Ojas is final and excellence of the product dhatu and vyadhiksamatva depends on it. Innate immunity may be correlated to sahajabala and kalajabala may be correlated to acquired immunity. Here is a review of Ayurvedic texts regarding immunity and concept of Vyadhiksamatva which depends on normal dosa, equilibrium state of dhatu, normal agnibala and ojas etc

    Information is the main element of enlightenment. For speech and express something, information is prerequisite. The aim of this paper is to highlight the primary concept of Right to Information act- 2005. And mainly focuses on the objectives, the obligations and the opportunities recumbent in this act. It is easy to realize something when we are well aware about the objectives of that matter. The prime objectives of RTI act are to ensure citizens access of information, to promote transparency, trust and openness, to improve the accountability and performance in government offices and to fight with the corruption. It also gives the opportunities to the government officials to improve themselves as true public servants. There is an obligation of public authorities, described in this act nevertheless without the cooperation and the assistance of officers this act will not get the taste of success and it is also depending on how much the common people and government officials are aware and educated about their roles and responsibilities.  The poverty and the lack of proper education is the obstruction of the all success of this act. The paper entitle as RTI act- 2005: its 3 O’s is an empirical observation about the basic points of RTI act-2005

    Though peer review is an integral part of a scientific journal publication, it faces a lot of criticism due to the anonymity in the process. This paper aims to understand the peer review process, its history and how the existing criticism has built an attitude towards the process by young researchers. This study has used various sources of secondary data for knowing the history of the peer-review process and the existing criticism in the field. Also, an online survey of research scholars with no prior or little experience in publishing conducted to understand the attitude. The scholars had an idea of the peer review process from their academic sessions. They felt that its time taking and biased. Additional this study suggests areas of improvement in peer review and benefits of peer review, which is underestimated by scholars as it allows them to give and receive feedback on their academic writin

    ANALYSIS OF VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY OF ONLINE GAME ADDICTION SCALE

    ABSTRACTOnline game addiction is a form of individual activity that is done repeatedly and always focuses on playing online games and has a negative impact on users. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an online game addiction scale to measure the level of addiction to online games. This study uses a quantitative approach with product moment correlation analysis using validity test with Cronbach alpha analysis assisted by SPSS 22 application. The results of the analysis concluded that from 42 items, 26 items were declared valid with a reliability coefficient of 0.837 which was categorized as high reliability. From these results, it can be concluded that the scale of online game addiction is considered feasible and can be used by school counselors to measure online game addiction. Key Words: Validity, Realibility, Online game addiction scale

    A Study of Ground Water and Water Borne Diseases from Daund - Pune District

    The research examined the effect of human activity on the quality of groundwater as well as a survey of different water related diseases caused in the areas of Daund, Maharashtra district in different localities. For the physical and chemical parameters, ten groundwater samples were analyzed.  It was observed that water has caused several health issues such as gastro, Typhoid, Jaundice and Diaherria in the region. The water analysis showed a high intensity of cation and anion exchange process is observed in the geochemical properties of soil water in this region. As a consequence of anthropogenic activities, groundwater in the area is relatively acidic based on TDS indicating that groundwater pollution is caused by human activity. The groundwater of the majority of samples cannot be used for drinking purposes. This provides the local population with a serious health risk. The effects of human activities in this region have been described as groundwater salinization, nitrate contamination, alkaline shifts, groundwater hardness and changing nature of the geochemical character of groundwater

    Use of E-Resources by Undergraduate Students during the COVID_ 19 Pandemic in Sri Lanka

    ABSTRACTThe study aims to examine the extent of benefits undergraduate students in Sri Lankan two Universities received from the e-resources offered by Uva Wellassa University and the University of Peradeniya  Libraries, especially during the COVID -19 pandemic in 2020. The survey was conducted through a questionnaire method and distributed by hands. The sample collection was 150 from both universities. The results showed modest use of e-resources during this critical time. The undergraduates mostly used the electronic resources for their assignments. They used e-journals and e-books. None of them indicated they did not use e-resources. Moreover, some respondents replied to their unawareness of these resources. The majority of respondents were willing to learn more about the e-resources how to use them. Also, they like to address problems they face when they searching electronic resources
