Get PDFPhilosophy connotes the search for knowledge and understanding of the nature and meaning of the universe and of human life. Reflection on cosmic processes and on the mystery of human existence is as old as man himself. Therefore, Philosophy may be regarded as the oldest discipline. All civilization possesses a rich collection of observations on cosmology and on human nature, which is reflected in their world-view, folklore, legends and mythology. Muslim Scholars made an outstanding contribution to the history of ideas as well as to the description and classification of the various disciplines. Islamic epistemology has an astonishingly open and dynamic character. Inspired by this epistemology, Muslims embarked on the pursuit of knowledge with a fervor and intensity which has not been witnessed either before or after. They explored the treasure-houses of knowledge in the East and the West, and imbibed the wisdom of the ancients. They carefully sifted and evaluated the intellectual heritage of other civilizations within the ideational and moral framework of Islam. What emerged out of this process was a creative synthesis which bore the unmistakable imprint of the Islamic ethos. The story of the quest for philosophy in the annals of Islamic civilization conforms to this patter. Abu al-Walid Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Rushd, better known in the Latin West as Averroes, lived during a unique period in Western intellectual history, in which interest in philosophy and theology was waning in the Muslim world and just beginning to flourish in Latin Christendom. Just fifteen years before his birth, the great critic of Islamic philosophy, al-Ghazzali (1058-1111), had died after striking a blow against Muslim Neoplatonic philosophy, particularly against the work of the philosopher Ibn Sina (Avicenna). From such bleak circumstances emerged the Spanish-Muslim philosophers, of which the jurist and physician Ibn Rushd came to be regarded as the final and most influential Muslim philosopher, especially to those who inherited the tradition of Muslim philosophy in the West. This paper provides an overview of Ibn Rushd’s contribution to philosophy, emphasizing his commentaries, his educational philosophy with special reference to Averroism school of thought and his lasting influence on medieval thought and the Western philosophical tradition

Get PDFAbstractIn North-east India, the Vaishnavite Monasteries or Satras of Assam are the unique socio-religious and cultural institutions established in the 16th century. The Satras became one of the most influential and revolutionized force in the socio-religious and cultural sphere. In Satra we find the aesthetic effects of art and architecture derived from the forms and the disposition within the Indian culture. The aesthetical aspects of the Satras unique architectural evolution, representation, observation and analyse the visual narrative that creates interactive discourse among the varied ranges of aesthetic domains. The Satras architectural base has some specific fractions: Batchora, Namghar, Manikut, Hati etc., supported by various decorative wall murals, exquisite wood carvings, and valuable historical artefacts. The organic body of Satra is composed of several essential elements based on the environmental sphere, cultural domain, religious realm and materials availability which unite to form the basic structure. The architectural representation evokes some similarity or influences with the Buddhist monasteries as well as with other cultural spheres. The Satra institutions show the values of religious beliefs externally, but it carries an internal resistance to the elite art practices through its direct communications with the regional folk. It stands as a critique to the so-called norms of cultural stereo types and rigid religious aspects by making the performance beyond the structure of religion and enhance the benevolence of humanism. Effect of Catalytic Converter on I.C. Engine Emission parameters - a Review

The emissions from CI Engines have adverse effects on human health, living organisms, and environment. The major emission form diesel engine are: unburned hydrocarbon, oxides of carbon (COX), oxides of nitrogen (NOX), oxides of sulphur (SOX), and solid carbon particulate matter (PM). Similarly, for biodiesel it was observed that HC, CO, CO2 were lowered, while NOX remains still higher. For in-cylinder reduction of emission Catalytic converter are effective for CI Engines. It was found that using Catalytic convertor reduces the emission from engine effectively

IMPLEMENTATION OF SPEED LIMIT ON A VEHICLE
Get PDFThe main objective of the paper is to provide a risk free journey for the vehicle drivers and also to the pedestrians by controlling the speed of the vehicles using radio frequency signal. To be more lucid, this paper is mainly built in order to prevent the people from breaking government laws and rules by forcing the vehicle to drive in the specified speed. This paper combines the concept of Wireless networking and Instrumentation Control engineering. Radio frequencies are used in order ensure that all vehicles are controlled using this method. Microcontrollers are used for comparing the set point and the actual speed of the motor. The sign boards acts as a radio frequency transmitter and the Vehicle acts as the receiver. The set point (accumulator) is assigned to the microcontroller which is placed inside the vehicle and the current speed of the vehicle is assigned as actual value (base register)to the microcontroller. The logic of this program is that if the current value exceeds the set point, then the speed of the vehicle is automatically controlled with the help of motor driver. A liquid crystal display is used in order to display the number of rotation of the motor before and after receiving the Radio frequency. Instead of coding every sign board to emit a particular radio frequency signal, a server is placed which sends the radio frequency to the sign boards. Thus the sign board acts both as transmitter and receiver. The server is coded in such a way that it is capable of broadcasting radio frequency at a particular frequency.Â
Stress, Anxiety and Depression among Caregivers of Individual with Psychiatric Disorders
Get PDFBackground: Psychiatric disorders affect the relationship of an entire family. Care-giving burden among family members have known for quite some time. There are various psycho-educational interventions have proved positive effects on burden however very little research has focused on the relationship between family dysfunction, and its role in burden and depression, anxiety, stress among caregivers.Aim: To assess and compare stress, anxiety and depression among male and female caregivers of individual with psychiatric disorders.Methods: cross sectional hospital based study conducted at RINPAS, Kanke, Ranchi (Jharkhand) 100 samples were selected through purposive sampling and informed about purpose of study. Each participant was interviewed at outpatient department of RINPAS. Interview involved socio-demographics and depression, anxiety and stress scale.Result: The result of the study indicated stress, anxiety and depression among the caregivers of persons with psychiatric disorders.Conclusion: the study suggest the psychosocial interventions need of not only the burden specific but also to enhance overall family environment in order to have better adaptive state among family.Key Words: Psychiatric illness, Stress, Anxiety, Depression
Effect of change in Volume Fraction on Mechanical Properties of Glass Fiber/Epoxy Resin Composites
No full textThis study deals with the experimental investigation of mechanical properties of glass fiber/epoxy composite material with variation in volume fraction of fiber in the composites. For manufacturing of composites combined hand layup and compression molding methods are used. The volume fraction of fiber is maintained about 40%, 50% & 60% in the total composition. With the help of experimental testing the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, shear strength, hardness and impact strength are determined. The variation of these properties with variation in volume fraction is studied also the results of tensile testing are validated in ANSYS 15.0. The results shows better mechanical properties with 50% of Volume fraction, however further increase in fiber content increases mechanical properties but composites starts delaminating. So at the end we got the material with 50:50 compositions is better for application with optimum strength
