The Bodos and Their Ethnic Movement with Special Reference to Assam.
Abstract: The Bodos are the race of Mongolian people who are described to be the inhabitants of a country lying to the north of the Himalayas and the West of China. It is one of the largest indigenous ethnic groups of Assam. The Bodo is a generic term refers to all the Tibeto Burman (Bodo) speaking people of Chino-Tibeto origin. (Chhetri Atreya, 2007:1-2).The north eastern region of India is considered as the homeland of multi ethnic group. This region is inhabited by people belonging to various caste, community, culture, ethnicity, languages and religion. In Contemporary time ethnics assertion movements in North- east India has emerged strongly. These movements are the collective voice of people of various ethnic groups. These groups assert their aspirations, demands and rights for the preservation and protection of their unique ethnic heritage, cultural diversity, language, traditions and to protect their ancestral homeland, safeguarding their distinct ethnic identity as well as to gain political rights which are given as per the Indian constitution. The assertion of ethnic movement mainly based on the protection of the ethnic identity and socio-cultural heritage of an ethnic group.Through this paper an attempt is made to look into the origin and history of the Bodos and various causes of ethnic assertion of Bodo group in Assam. The article also tries to look into the state government’s initiatives as well as the role of civil society to solve the ethnic assertion of Bodo ethnic group.Key Words: History and Originality, present Socio-economic and political status and various causes of Bodo ethnic movement, and Suggestions
Knowledge Diffusion to Knowledge Dissemination: A Theoretical Study
The purpose of this study is to review the literature to identify the major breakthroughs in the process of knowledge diffusion and dissemination. This will help in ascertaining the future course of action for further research activities. The study was executed by a systematic review of literature available on the subject. About 138 documents were reviewed out of which more than 100 articles are from peer reviewed journals. Thematic search for literature was conducted using the terms like knowledge, knowledge diffusion, diffusion models, collaboration, Scientometrics. E-resources (Springer link, Emraldinsight, Oxford University Press, Jstor, etc., as subscribed the Tata Institute of Social Sciences was searched for literature. The core objectives are to understand the knowledge creation, theories and models of diffusion and dissemination, collaborative modes and quantitative aspects of knowledge diffusion. Based on the objectives following questions were answered that: a) How the knowledge is produced, b) Identification of knowledge diffusion models, c) Aspects of knowledge diffusion and d) The quantitative aspects of knowledge diffusion. The method of the systematic literature review was used to answer the research questions. The major milestone i.e. Theaetetus immortalized, SECI Model, Modes of Formation of Subjects, Diffusion of Innovations, The Epidemic Model, The Bass Diffusion Model, Research Collaboration and Team Science and Bibliometrics & Scientometrics quantitative methods are identified and described. However, this study may not be regarded to have a complete coverage of all the empirical literature on the subject. But, still, it seems to have reviewed the some of the pioneer studies
Local Body Tax and its impact
Local Body Tax, popularly known by its abbreviation LBT. The tax imposed by the local civil bodies of India on the entry of goods into a local area for consumption, use or sale. The tax is imposed on 52 of the State List from the Schedule VII of the Constitution of India. which says; "Taxes on the entry of goods into a local area for consumption, use or sale therein." Trader pay taxes to the civic bodies and the rules and regulations of these change from state to state within India .LBT means Taxes on the entry goods into a local area for consumption, use or sale therein .Most of the state governments withdraw octroi about Six years ago when the (VAT) Value Added Tax was introduced. However, barring a same small cities, Octroi is collected in more cities of Maharashtra, such as Mumbai-Pune. The State Government has announced that octroi will be ended from most of the municipal corporations by April 2013 and LBT will be introduced
SAARC Countries and Primary Education : Developmental Programs
Education is a priority of all the government of the Globe. Strengthening the quality of education has become a universal agenda at all the educational levels and more so at primary level. Primary education is the basic stage of formal education. Because in this stage the children come into the contact of formal education, and it is also government affiliated and recognized stage of formal education. So, the question arises that what is the concept of primary education? It is stated that primary education is an initial stage of formal education coming between the age of 6-14 years children, which improve the basic literacy and numeracy among the children. The children will learn the simple rule of reading, writing and arithmetic.It is simply stated that SAARC is a common and popular word which is firstly used on December, 1977 later on December 8, 1985 as a recognized and affiliated organization it is come into existence. SAARC is an economic and geopolitical organization of the countries of Indian Subcontinent or southern region of Asia which is includes the core land of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, whose main objectives is to promote welfare of the people of South Asia and improve the quality of life and for which education is a very important weapons by which we can change everything.In the present study the authors tried to make a note on Special Initiatives taken by the authorities of some of the SAARC Countries

Socio-economic conditions of landless agricultural labourers in Telangana
The present paper aims to understand the socio-economic conditions of the agricultural labourers of the Gaggupalli village. The study village is located in Armoor mandal in Nizamabad District of Telangana State and the study was conducted during 2015 and 2016. The study village is predominantly dependent on agriculture and allied activities and the irrigation is depends on bore wells for agriculture. The landless labourers from the study village and the migrant laborers from neighboring districts (Medak, Mahbubnagar) are contribute to the economy of this village besides depending on their labour for livelihood. The proximity of this village to the capital city of the state, penetration of capabilities improving agencies like education, health care, modern agricultural tools, transportation and communication etc. have affected the socio cultural, economic and political situation to a large extent. Migration is one of such effects. Thus the paper tries to explain the impact of migration on landless laborers’ households in the study village.Parameters such as the caste, education, health, income, property ownership, household amenities etc. are taken for the study to understand the socio-economic conditions of the labourers. Data was collected by using anthropological techniques like participant observation, interviews, household schedules and case studies. Using statistical tools like SPSS, the interpretation of data was done. It’s found that most of the labourers belong to lower castes Mala, Madiga and also backward castes’ Kurma, Tenugu and Vaddera and the living conditions of these labourers differ from those of the study village
GST and Indian Tourism Sector
India is one of the hot tourist destinations in the world. It is so due to variety of tourist attractions and delicious food. Due to this, domestic as well as international inbound tourists’ movement is worth mentioning. However, it also can be mentioned that, India is not trying hard to attract and excel the tourists, to its potential. Indian tourism sector is one of the industries, where, multiple taxes are livid. The sector was expecting some relief in the new tax regime of Goods and Services Tax (GST). But, apparently, it can be perceived that, instead of providing relief, it has made worst. However academicians do believe that, inflation in the price of tourism, would be a temporary phenomena, in the longer run, the prices would go down, and GST would be beneficial to the sector. A STUDY OF SOCIAL EXCLUSION & ITS IMPLICATION
A caste system is the major feature of Indian society, it is not only reflected in social life of Indian people but also economic and political behaviour of people. Caste is the identity of a person in Hindu society. In India, exclusion or inclusion in the economic activities such as production, distribution or any gainful job to a particular person depend on his caste. In social science literature the concept of social exclusion is defined as ‘the process through which individuals belonging to some groups are wholly or partially excluded from full participation in the society in which they live’. The unfavorable inclusions with unequal treatment may carry the same adverse effects as unfavorable exclusion
Gond’s Nagoba Jatara; Performance of Bheati Koriyal
Nagoba Jatara is the biggest and ancient festival of Gonds with full of rituals. Gonds are aboriginal tribes of India who live in the Adilabad district of Telangana State. Amongst the many cultural practices of the Nagoba festival (Serpent God), Bheati Koriyal is an interesting ritual practice in this annual festival, young girls or women who are newly or previously married are introduced to the community members and their God (Nagoba). Then these brides are deemed eligible to worship their supreme God on their own. The present paper aims to understand the ‘Performance of Bheati Koriyal Process.
