Polity refers to a social formation, of which state is but apart. The nation-state based polity is undergoing a transformation due to the imposing nature of ICTs led globalization. The states as a collective entity have no escape from the pushing impacts of digital technologies that have converted the world population in to a single community with opportunities of instant connectivity, and dissemination of information through bullet-theory of injecting facts and figures into the mind of every member of global civil society. Several causes of this transformation of polity can be extracted from the intellectual discourses available in the existing research, predicting the consequences with tangible and explicit demonstrations of the same in the real world settings. The objective of this article is to juxtapose the diversity of research-findings into a compact piece of knowledge and present a theoretical model to comprehend this transformation and emergence of global polity

REASONS BEHIND HINDU MARRIED WOMEN LEAVING THEIR LEGAL SHARE OF ANCESTRAL PROPERTY

    Get PDF
This study was conducted on 126 Hindu married women who were gone through the painful process of ancestral property distribution. As per the Hindu Succession Act (1956) and Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act, 2005 daughters are eligible to get equal portion of ancestral property as sons. However, this study shows clearly most of the Hindu married women who are uneducated and financially dependent on their spouse or sons or daughters they generally end-up losing their fair share of ancestral property at the time of property distribution. On the other hand educated Hindu married women who are capable to negotiate their own right they generally get treated much fairly. That study also shows women who leave their legal share of ancestral property they do that under emotional pressure of their siblings and in fear of losing them permanently. As a result they regret in later period since these women are financially dependent on others and therefore in case of any financial emergency they feel really helpless and regret for their decision of leaving ancestral property share. On the contrary educated and independent women are much vocal about their legal rights and negotiate successfully to get their share and above all they don’t even regret for that decision. Therefore for uneducated, underprivileged women ancestral relations works as a social insurance and it’s more valuable than the ancestral property. However, further study should be conducted on Hindu unmarried women and the women of other religion as well to understand the actual scenario. Meanwhile changes in legal system are also necessary to prevent such dubious practices so that patriarchal society cannot exploit the loopholes of the Indian legal system.Â

THE DOG-DEITY: DIVINITY, HISTORY AND DOGS IN ANCIENT SCRIPTURES

    Get PDF
A sub specie of wolf that was domesticated came to be known as ‘Dog’. History suggests that Dogs have been human companions since Adams. They have been with humans and have been an integral part of their culture, lives, leanings extending to them emotional support, spiritual enrichment and adding to their very being. Based on DNA evidence, the wolf ancestors of modern dogs diverged from other wolves about 1,00,000 years ago, and dogs were domesticated about 15,000 years ago. Keeping in mind this date, it can be said with utmost certainty dogs were the first to be domesticated by humans and human-dog bond has its historical base. The relationship between human beings and dogs has deep roots, with archaeological and genetic evidence indicating a time of domestication in the late Upper Paleolithic Age, between 17,000 and 14,000 years ago. Dogs have been an important part of both Hinduism and Buddhism. They have been glorified and appreciated in various ancient texts. With time we have become cruel towards dogs for no reason. A mass killing of dogs in Kerala has jolted many of us. We as humans are said to have “Viveka†and yet an event like “war against canines†in Kerala talks about our low spiritual levels and our avidya. It is time that we realize how dogs have been a part of our age old history, philosophy, literature, art, yoga, dance and they still continue contribute to us medically, emotionally, physically, spiritually and by serving our nation. Is it not time that we rise above variations of forms and see the Brahman that exists within all, including dogs. It is time we go back to our texts and understand them in the right light so that we do not fail to give the respect dogs, animals and even humans deserve. We need to question ourselves whether or not with time we have touched higher planes of spirituality or have merely become slaves to names, forms and materialism? Should we respect and love dogs only because they serve us, only because they are or they can be of use to us? Only because our ancient texts talk highly of them, should we be bound to give them respect? Is their very being not enough or not a reason enough to love them, respect them and cherish them? While dogs continue to submit unconditionally and love humans, when will we humans offer our bhoota rinn to our four legged friends? This paper aims at digging into the past and bringing to fore references that glorify dogs in Hindu and Buddhist traditions besides which it will also throw light on how dogs have significantly added to literature, art and architecture

Review on Green computing to save environment and power management

    Get PDF
Computers are used everywhere in human life hence computer consumes more electricity.Toxic, carbon dioxide produce by computer material. But use of computer is necessary in human life. Existence of Green Computing to overcome negative effect of computer to environment.Green computer solves  the problem of power consumption of computer system. It also provides technique to minimize pollution by computer material. Moreover, thousands of computing devices are manufactured every day and the same amount of old computers is being thrown away loading up the e-wastes. So it is highly important to manage these computing devices in such a way that they last longer and even if they are disposed of, they shouldn’t cause much harm to the nature. Green computing can take many forms in itself. Green technology focuses on reducing the environmental impact of industrial processes and innovative technologies caused by Earths growing population It has taken upon itself the goal to provide society’s needs in ways that do not damage or reduce natural resources. It is mainly used to protect environment, optimize energy consumption and keeps Green environment. The main goal of green computing is that increasing energy efficiency and reducing the use of harmful materials. Green computing ultimately focuses on ways in reducing overall environmental impacts. It require the integration of Green computing Practices such as recycling, electronic waste removal power consumption, virtualization, improving cooling technology, and optimization of the requirements. The major power consumption components are processors and the main memory in the servers. This paper gives idea of saving energy & environment which helps to save money
