Physical Exercise Intervention for Children Undergoing Cancer Treatment: A Scoping Review

    No full text
Aims: This research aimed to explore articles regarding physical exercise for children undergoing cancer treatment. Method: The research method used is scoping review. The process of doing a scoping review involves several steps, including developing research questions, establishing criteria for inclusion, a comprehensive search strategy, literature screening and selection, organizing data, and compiling, summarizing, and presenting the findings. The inclusion criteria encompassed full-text papers, namely randomized controlled trials or quasi-experimental research, published in English during the past decade (2014–2023). Pubmed, CINAHL, Scopus, and Proquest are used as search engines and database searches. Selected articles were extracted into charting data, analyzed with descriptive approaches, and the results reported. Results: The results found 14 articles, which were then categorized into three physical exercise programs, such as integrated physical exercise, technology-based physical exercise, and multimodal exercise. Outcomes obtained are cardiorespiratory fitness, motor performance, cancer-related fatigue, and quality of life. Conclusion: The side effects of cancer treatment in children may be mitigated through the implementation of physical exercise programs. This scoping review can be a consideration for optimizing pediatric nursing services by adding physical exercise interventions to the rehabilitation protocol as a supportive treatment for children who are currently undergoing cancer treatment

    No full text
Aims : the study aimed to test the effectiveness of the zilgrei methode in primigravida mother with second stage labor of long second stage, incidence laceration, infant condition and the scale pain of labor. Methods : The study used a queasy experimental design with a control group, collecting primary data through observation, partographs, APGAR score, and pain scale assessment for 6 months. Result : The result of the bivariate test shows that the mean comparison of the long second stage was different between the two groups (p-value 0,001). No significant difference in the proportion of the incidence laceration (p= 0.370), APGAR score at first, fifth, and ten minutes (p>0.005). There was a significant comparison of pain scale between a group with and without Zilgrei Method (p=0.000). Conclusions : Based on the results of this study Zilgrei method can be applied as an alternative non-pharmacological method to shorten the second stage and reduce pain on labor. For further research, it is necessary to consider controlling the weight of a born baby and maternal risk factors to determine the effect of applying the Zilgrei method optimally to the laceration of the birth canal and the condition of the baby at birth

    No full text
Aims: The writing of this case report aims to analyze the management of hypothermia in patients undergoing emergency laparotomy in the operating room. Methods: This research method is a case report study with a retrospective approach by monitoring, interviewing, and using medical data of patients undergoing emergency exploratory laparotomy surgery in the Emergency Operating Room of Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Hospital. The data collected were the patient\u27s disease course, diagnosis, actions, and nursing interventions. Results: In both cases, the temperature was maintained between 35.5°C to 36°C using a combination of warm blankets, mattresses, and warmed NaCl. Conclusion: This case report concludes that providing warm blankets, warm mattresses, and warm NaCl to wash the abdomen is beneficial in preventing perioperative hypothermia in patients undergoing emergency exploratory laparotomy. The operating room nurse is expected always to monitor the patient\u27s temperature so as not to experience hypothermia

Aims: To determine the relationship between knowledge and historical records of low birth weight (LBW) and the prevalence of stunting in young children at the Cibadak Community Health Center in Lebak Regency. Method: The study used incidental sampling, involving women with toddlers at the Cibadak Community Health Center, to evaluate their health, using SPSS 22, chi square, and Spearman rank tests. Results: The results of the research show that knowledge and history of LBW in toddlers have a significant relationship. The p value from the chi square test on the history of LBW with stunting has a value of 0.000, as well as the p value in the Spearman rank test on the mother\u27s knowledge variable regarding the incidence of stunting also has a value of 0.000. Conclusions: The study focuses on the link between awareness and medical history of low birth weight and stunting in toddlers, emphasizing the necessity of nutritional programs and attention from healthcare providers

Translation and Content Validation of the Self-Administered Version of the International Restless Leg Syndrome Severity Scale (sIRLS)

    No full text
Aims: Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological sensorimotor disorder that causes a person to feel the need to move their lower extremities due to uncomfortable sensations. This condition can be monitored to minimize and cure the symptoms. One of the monitoring instrument is The Self-administered version of The International Restless Legs Syndrome Rating Scale (sIRLS). In Indonesia, the sIRLS instrument has not been culturally adapted. This research aims to translate and to test the content validity the Indonesian version of the sIRLS, so that it can further contribute to subsequent psychometric research on this instrument. Methods: The sIRLS were translated through forward translation, synthesized translation, back-translation, synthesized back-translation, and expert committee by five translators and three expert judges. Content validity was tested through CVR, I-CVI, and S-CVI for the essentiality, relevancy, and clarity of each item. Results: The first validity test showed a significant value for essentiality and relevancy of all the items (1,00). However the first test showed an insignificant value for the clarity of the seven items (0,33 and 0,66). Therefore the researcher should revise the seven items based on the suggestions from the expert judges and then carry out a second content validity test. Consequently, the final values of the CVR, I-CVI, and S-CVI showed significant values (1,00) for the essentiality, relevancy, and clarity. Discussions: Many Adaptation and modification on a few terms were required to achieve both meaning and cultural equivalence and also to facilitate understanding of the respondents. Conclusion: The Indonesian Version of self-administered version of The International Restless Legs Syndrome Rating Scale (sIRLS) is validly reviewed from the essentiality, relevancy, and clarity of the items
